Sorry guys, I don't check in here very often. frown.gif

I have vehicles sent by container from Nagoya to Calgary, AB ... periodically these are larger vehicles (SUVs / vans ) where we can put parts inside.

If there is a good way to ship the parts to Nagoya I could have them loaded. Still need to declare customs and there will be a handling fee from the Japan side of course.

ST205WRC ... I need stereo brackets for an ST18X and ST20X ... they are RHD specific parts. Do you think you could source these?

Cheers,

Sean

Up!

Been looking and nothing worth importing has come up.

I have a list of parts I check for each week tho so I'll trudge on with the search.

I have one right side JDM fender in silver here ($100 plus shipping)
Also left and right side repeater lights with leads ($25 each plus shipping)

I can probably find you a left fender in Japan too.

I'm in Calgary, AB.

If you can find a left fender tell me right away! Would you know how much it would cost for the shipping? (Zip code: J7B 1S9)

I will have to see about finding a left fender first.
If you are in a rush it will be very expensive to air ship ... if you are not in a rush, I can have it container shipped to Vancouver and then packaged up for shipment direct to J7B 1S9.

What colour is your car? I might have colour options to pick from if the stars line up.

Countainer shipped? Isn't there any risk of damaging?
No I'm not in a rush so take your time, I'm taking out my celica in april-may.
My car is silver, but it doesn't really matter since I'm going to repaint them anyways. I just want absolute NO rust NOR dent on them, it's the only thing that matters to me.
Thanks!

Container shipping is by far safer than air shipping when dealing with a fender. Don't worry, I wouldn't send out a bent fender ... just need to find one first.

Will let you know.

Our best guess is that Walker has the first genuine WRC. I think there have been a hand full or maybe two hands full of regular ST205s come in by now.

There are three genuine WRCs registered in Calgary now. White(Walker), Black(ChrisD) and Red(moi)

Love seeing these beasts on our roads biggrin.gif

Hi guys,

The first ST205 is arriving late this month into Vancouver. The owner is a Calgarian but I have not convinced him yet to join the 6GC boards. I expect once the car arrives and he has photos that he will join. wink.gif

His chassis is 100% original and a testament to the previous owner.

The second car has had chassis paint ... it is a white car and you notice that they painted the lip under the door black as well as all the crossmembers and even the plastic underbody covers. Some say it is for rust proofing, but .....

Artega, have you landed an ST205 in Calgary?

We'll have to arrange a meet-up at some point soon too.

Ya Sean told me you had a sneak peak. I am sorry I missed meeting up with you, I had to go out of town for work.

I think we will have to do this soon-ish .... there is a red and a black WRC itching to land in Calgary in the next few days. smile.gif

... and a Yellow GT-S POS thats just itching to come hang out... biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

Of course Jeremy! There will always be love to share for the diehard 2 wheeler 6-gens smile.gif

KAOS .... that video put a smile on my face (after I got over the motion sickness) thumbsup.gif

The switch on the dash .... WALKER, we'll have to trace the wires back. The original JDM GT-Fours just have a blank in place of the dimmer, yes.

As there were only a handful of WRC models with a Feb build, it is unlikely there are 5 running around Quebec .... but not entirely impossible. Nothing has shown up on the boards yet as far as new Canadian ST205 owners.

The headlights are required to be DOT or E-code and most inspection facilities in Alberta will check for this. There is a good reason to have right-hand-traffic lenses .... the Japanese headlight lenses are molded with a blinder pattern into the glass so you do not blind oncoming traffic. Since we drive on the opposite side of the highway in Canada, Japanese lights will definetely blind fellow motorists.

The later projector lights would get around this as the light does not "scatter" like a halogen headlight; however, the lenses are likely marked as JIS and not the required DOT or E. I have not seen a set of ST20X projector lenses up close though so maybe someone can confirm the actual markings for us?

Another reason you will want to have legal headlights is if you drive into BC, it is common to be stopped for a routine highway safety check. Officers look at your headlights and also confirm you have day time running lights installed. You should also carry your customs Form1 with you as I have been asked to present it. It just makes the inspection go smoothly if you have everything in order.

Valo666 is correct .... a simple DRL module which you can purchase from Crappy Tire will work fine. They are now about $40 though ....

Nice idea! Please count me in ....

If we make it early April, I will for sure have my ST205 sorted. Either way I will be there and will spread the word.

what does ems air mean???

http://www.post.japanpost.jp/int/ems/index_en.html

If your seller wants it to get to you efficiently then it would be with EMS.

... Otherwise it will go post and the ship will take a couple weeks before customs gets your package.

Your seller would probably ship EMS Air which to the States should take max 2 weeks before you get your arrival notice.

.... of course that assumes he sent your package out soon after he got your money.

Not a nice position to be in. Good luck mate

If you declare the vehicle as "Off Road / Track Use" only, you can legally import any vehicle into the US.

I believe the VIN is then recorded as such and will never be eligible for road use?

Ha! .... where did you guys find this?

The sunroof is a very common option on the GT-Fours found in Japan. Adds a lot of weight to the top of the car though ... so, yes, some would prefer no roof. The white one on the right has no roof and no ABS .... very very rare. ABS was a option for Jap WRCs but was standard on export WRCs.

Remember that seeing unpainted riser blocks on a genuine WRC is a good sign that the car is original and was not re-sprayed.

Yes, you have to be a resident to register a vehicle in Canada.

Our border crossings log each and every vehicle that cross the border in both directions. You will have no issues crossing the border but they will flag the car after it has not crossed back into Canada. This is one reason they always ask you how long you will be in the US.

Risky venture as you don't want a nice 205 seized.

go to alltrac.net theres one for sale in Canada for 12,000. The guy is willing to drop it off at the border. But I heard that as long as the car has been owned by a canadian you can bring it into the US. Lets say a gt-four was a fresh import and you wanted to pick it up and bring it across the borders. You wouldn't be able to, because it isn't used by a canadian. But lets say someone in Canada buys it and decided to sell it, you can bring it over since it was already used.

The caution point is the history of the car is well documented. Canadian and US VINs are longer than the Japanese Chassis Codes. To register a Japanese import in Canada, the Japanese Chassis Code is entered in place of the VIN with the governement. This will be an obvious tip-off to the American customs agent and they WILL decline entry of the vehicle.

Any individual vehicle younger than 25 years can legally be imported into the US from Canada only if that exact vehicle was originally manufactured for Canada.

The option is always open to move up here .... we have a lot of room smile.gif

Thanks Mercury ..... I did not notice the sticky for this link. It's a good one but headlight part numbers are not terribly clear on which part number to specify. For the outer lamps, you use a 20070 sufix.

Composite assy, celica, right, inner 1994 $141.72 $103.46 (P/N: 81011-20040)

Composite assy, celica, right, outer 1994 $264.81 $193.31 (P/N: 81012-20070)

Composite assy, celica, left, inner 1994 $141.72 $103.46 (P/N: 81013-20040)

Composite assy, celica, left, outer 1994 $264.81 $193.31 (P/N: 81014-20070)

Cheers,

Sean
