I was looking online for a high-flow cat for my car & I came across this... http://www.randomtechnology.com/toyota.html - If you notice, although they dont list one for the 6GC, they DO list one for the 2.2L 1994 Camry (p/n 183-25004)... 5SFE right? So that leads me to the following questions... 1. Has anyone tried bolting this thing up to their 6GC? 2. Do the 6GC/Camry use a common exhaust manifold? 3. If so, then the Camry HFC listed on RandomTechnologys website will work on a 6GC, right? 4. If not, is it possible to just swap the entire Camry/HFC combo in place of the stock 6GC components? 5. Or is the OEM 6GC exhuast manifold a higher flowing unit than the Camrys, thus negating the performance gains of the HFC in the first place? 6. Is the Magnaflow HFC ($800!!!) the only other alternative to the one from RandomTechnologies? |

Hello all, GreazerLou here (noob). Ive been lurking around here for the past couple of months but never wanted to join until I actually owned one. So I finally found & picked up my brand new '94 GT 5-speed and I couldnt be happier! These cars kick ass! I specifically bought my car to go 3STGE/AWD and although I do see a bunch of info on the 3SGTE swaps, I cant find much on the all-out AWD conversions so im throwin up the flag in the hopes that I can get in contact someone on here that has actually done an AWD conversion. Theres a guy in Stockton selling a subframe/rear diff set-up over in the for-sale forum that im 99% ready to pull the trigger on. How many people on here have actually completed an AWD conversion??? Although I am a 6gc noob I can hold my own when it comes to turning a wrench so im not particulary worried/concerned with that part of it. I AM however, going off the basic understanding that all 6GCs are built on the same platform so my AWD conversion will, at least for the most part, be a bolt-on affair. Or am I making a huge noobie mistake here & the rear half of the bottom of the unibody is different on the GT4 to allow for the driveshaft/rear subframe & diff??? Any input on that would be GREATLY appreciated! Thanks! |

Hello there, Im very interested AND I do have ca$hola BUT I have some questions... 1. Thats $600 shipped for both the diff AND subrafme right? That "who" in the middle of your sentence there is kinda throwing me off 2. Do you know if everything is actually in good working condition? ( ie were these in your or a friends car that you know was running or are these parts that you came across & have never seen on a running car before?) I do see that pic there with no diff cover & everything does look good but theres a lot more to it when it comes to drivetrain parts. If you dont know, thats fine, OR if you give me your word that youve seen these pieces in action then ill give you the benefit of the doubt, I just wanna know what risks im taking if do take this plunge.... 3. From what ive read on here so far, ill still need to source a "205" gas tank & driveshaft to complete the "rear half" of this conversion... any leads on these? Thank you sir! (sorry if im being a PITA, I just wanna know exactly what im getting for my money) |
