I heard people use the stock feed line as the new return line, it saves having to get another line made up. In my country I think the fuel lines must be solid, and have no detachable parts to pass half-yearly inspections, not sure if that applies to you guys Braided rubber hoses seems to pass fine, there are a whole lot more regulations about brake lines than fuel lines, maybe that's what you're thinking of? |

Man that's looking awesome, i'm so jealous. That camera makes you pipes look purple but they're still blue right? What boost is your wastegate spring set to? Your boost controller should just have to open the wastegate earlier to stop the boost spike. Or your wastegate can't flow enough? |

Yeah I was too cheap to go the custom way. I thought the wastegate port was weird to, but it's to clear the alternator. I was going to use an adaptor on the factory manifold but was worried the oil drain would get almost horizontal. I was going to brace the turbo regardless. Will let you all know how it goes. |

I just ordered one of these: http://www.drivenperformance.co.nz/scripts...?idproduct=1326 ST205, to T3 flange, with 38mm wastegate. |

Nice work. What exactly did you do to mod the washer fluid tank? and how'd you fit in in there like that, looks awesome. |

Although i'm going to an external wastegate, i've been advised to run 5psi spring pressure, and let the boost control take it up to 16psi+. |

Those flanges I posted were gen2 in case it matched them, and it obviously doesn't. But it still looks the same as the metal gen3 gasket i'm holding, I could take measurements if you want? |

That sounds like a pain. Is that a branded pipe or a custom? |

i wanna know what spoolup is like on CT27. Car gives u a slap in the face somewhere between 2500 and 3000 on a CT20b On the CT26/T04E 46mm I had, it made a lazy transition into power at 4000 and achieving 18psi by 5000. with only 12psi by 4000, 10 psi around 3000, and barely 3psi under 3000 FYI My CT20b is making 7psi at 3000, 11psi at 3500, 12psi at 4750 |

I know that the factory 3SGTE exhaust manifold gasket is a 3 layer metal gasket. It should have the same stud pattern as the 3SGE. part: 17173-88581 That one needles is holding is the turbo exhaust gasket, and looks like a standard pressed/stamped one out of generic gasket paper. part: 17173-88581 that one cannot work the gen 3 3sge has bigger ports and the lug pattern is different. That part is for a Gen3 3SGTE (ST205) which is the same lug pattern as the 3SGE? Like this: You're after an exhaust manifold gasket right? Goes between manifold and head? Why is everyone showing turbo flanges? |

There's a bit of a knack to putting CV's back together. Took me an hour to do my first one, 5min for the second, it's like one of those wooden puzzles that you need to slide together in the right order. How much bigger were the new balls? Wouldn't want it to get hot and bind, I've seen a ball push right through the housing, made a real mess. |

I think he's changing it because they get clogged after time, as they are filtering crap out of your fuel. Not sure of part numbers but the one I had in my St202 looks the same as the one in my ST205. I think the fuel pumps are the same so the flow will be similar therefore the filter should be able to handle both. As needles said you shouldn't need anything bugger till 600-700hp. Although the next time I work on my fuel system, i'll prob install a shiny aftermarket filter with AN fittings, will help tidy up the engine bay too. |

They should fit, and would be the same flow as factory ST205 injectors, should be good for approx 300hp. Most people seem to use SARD 800's, to go further. |

You seem pretty well setup there, what ECU are you using? I know of no advantage from the ceramic wheel, so i'm not sure why you're so keen on it? I'm upgrading my turbo and will be using a Walbro and factory injectors, should get me to 300hp, then i'll look at upgrading the injectors later. |

Soooooooo, I have had to send my 26 out to be rebuilt and in the process have found that the turbine wheels need to be changed. The shop that has the turbo says that they can't get the JDM ceramic wheels so they will have to use steel ones. 1) how will this affect my spool time/ Lag? (new to forced induction, understand the basics but am still a little fuzzy on the intricacies) 2) anyone know where to get the ceramic wheels? 3) any one have a JDM importers # or a 26 or 20b they can spare? Thanks for your input and assistance all. Stay away from the ceramic wheel, IMHO that's one of the worst things about the CT26. When they get hot they can shatter. If you're running low octane you have to retard timing at higher boost levels to prevent det and the wheel gets hotter while pushing harder. Go with the steel wheel rebuild if it's heaps cheaper than buying a new turbo, be aware that a 2nd hand turbo could be due for a rebuild too (would be more worth it with a '20b'. ST215 Caldina GTT turbo (C15?) will bolt up to a gen3 engine and isn't a bad option either. |

don't plan to open it Heard that so many times! lol As far as your a/r goes, I chose the .64 but I have a larger exhaust wheel. So with the GT28 I might lean towards the .86 for more power at the top end, but you should get a nice quick spool with the .64 if you prefer that. |

never run the Garrett on a stock engine but my standard setup was running about 16psi but then once I forged the bottom and fitted the Garrett it ran 14psi until I got the Haltech which saw 18 and then 20psi. What headgasket and studs are you using now? and was that 14psi just spring pressure or did you use an standalone boost controller before the haltech? |

Good things aren't cheap when it comes to turbos. I know! I think I've spent almost as much as the turbo cost again on all the thing's I need to fit it! Adapter, wastegate, gaskets, AN fittings, hose, washers, studs, nuts etc. Will need different piping to my front mount as i'll be clocking down, but not sure what I'll need yet. How are you running your piping? |

That's good to know. In accordance with this advice, I've given my engineer the go ahead to build me a T28 steampipe manifold and downpipe. We have chosen the GT2871RS with .64a/r rear housing Ooh, what did he quote you for that? I've been looking at the cheap chinese manifolds on trade me and they all have short 3rd pipes which will heat up Cyl 3 and run it lean, that and badly placed or lack of wastegate port. So i'm using an adapter until I can afford a full equal length manifold. I've got a Gt3071r sitting here ready to go on. We'll have a pretty good lineup of white ST205's soon, Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch! Hey TRDGT4 how much boost did you run on stock? Did you have boost control, or just spring pressure?? |
