your S53 is going to get destroyed... My suggestion is an E153....

Okay sweet, what do those come out of? and what clutch etc do i run in it?

comes out of a V6 Camry, V6 Solara, or 3s-gte MR2, my suggestion is a 93+ MR E153, or a 97+ v6 camry E153 (they both have LSD)

no lsd is not a drug...

damn, i was hoping it would make my car trip balls, and climb trees and **** (you tube - british soldiers on lsd wink.gif ) alright ill keep my eyes peeled for one of those or something, i heard that the s53 like ive got is a weak box, apparently all s series are, and to grab an e so i shall heed your advice my good sir.

*eating raissenettes, slurping coke, OOPS small burp**

sounds like it will be difficult but doable, celicatech people are swapping more caldinas these days, they might have diagrams.

celica tech? that another forum i assume?

yeah i'm trying to find the wiring diagrams for both cars... once i have those i am sorted, a wiring loom for my corona is only 10 bucks at the wreckers so with diagrams i can splice both before hand so the car isn't off the road too long, it's my daily driver etc...

cheers: Mark.

Yea.. . . .

thats a 4th Gen 3s-gte from a caldina... first of all, I hope your 3s-fe transmission is a manual... and in good condition.

and uh... yea, wiring my car was a bitch as is.... no comment. smile.gif

It's a manual s53 box.... but the syncro mesh is starting to go i'm going to grab a v6 camry box or a celica gtr box from local wreckers they are only like 120 bucks....

got to get a new clutch as well...

was 4th gen a good one to buy? i didn't really want one from an old like 89 celica or something, im told this motor puts out roughly 260hp.

lol hey man i'm trying, i'm really into my motorbikes can fix those no sweat... but the amount of wiring in a car... i havn't dealt with wiring on that scale before and i thought it wise to get advice from those in the know if possible rather than going at it like a bull at a gate.

I did a very silly thing last night, i've just bought a 3sgte with loom and ecu off tardme. to stonk into my st171 liftback corona, i know i will need to upgrade brakes etc, but at this stage i just want to get the thing running sweet.

soo ahh 260hp here we go, got sick of the 3sfe, too damn slow even with gen 2 celica headers and full intake, just gotta wait for it to get here and ahhh figure out how to wire the bastard.mikey reckons he can do it but if anybody in auckland would be able to help, that would be awesome, boxes of beer of offer etc, especially need help splicing the looms.

Cheers guys.

Also if anybody has a gt4 or caldina gtt fuel pump kicking round they want to sell let me know

...do you even no what generation 3s-gte you have?

ahhhhh not really lol, it's from a 97 caldina st 215 gtt. ive only just started learning about car stuff, so the generation of motors etc arn't known to me really...

In theory, yes it will bolt right in. I'm not sure about a corona, as I've never seen one past like 1978, but basically all S-series engines (3sfe, 5sfe, 3sgte, etc.) share the same motor mounts, so it should be a simple bolt-in job. Then you'll need to tackle the wiring.

wirings no biggie, with a car is 45 hp difference alot? as i said usuallly a motorbiker so not sure how much faster this is really going to be.

Hey guys, a mate of mine pointed me in this direction, he has a gt4 celica and well i drive a slow ass corona with a 3sfe, he thinks a 3s-ge from a celica etc will bolt in apart from the altezza black top motors

i am not wanting to be cutting and moving the metal mounts on the chassis

so is he right can i swap in a 3sge into 3sfe chassis munts, he says i will need 3sge engine mounts which is no biggie...

i was tempted to go 3sgte but i think 260hp in a FWD car is just overkill and the chances of getting constant traction in 1st 2nd or 3rd gear without popping the tyres before i can hit 4th are slim lol

how much more poke will i get out of a 3sge ver the 3sfe the 3sfe is 125 hp and the 3sge's im looking at without going for a red top are around 170hp, i know ill feel the power but is it going to be quick enough to keep me entertained.

sorry if im asking blatent n00b questions, usually into my bikes so want to know all this will actually work before i go out and buy a motor ecu loom etc...

Also if i wanted to turbo the 3sge down the ine what levels of boost can i run as a reliable daily driver, i would be hoping for 8-10 psi.

Cheers guys

Skid.
