Hey guys we'll be selling our wrecked '99 Celica GT soon. The car was hit passenger side at an intersection. The airbags did deploy both steering and side passenger dashboard. Car still starts and idles fine. Will get pics uploaded later today. Want to sell as a whole or later part out and scrap it. Let me know if anyone interested in purchasing as whole. Will be looking for another daily driver yet again. Check out the pics! Current Location: Fresno, CA. 93703 Color: white/beige leather interior Mileage: 116k Manual Transmission As for price, i'm not certain what the car is even worth. Make me an offer! It's also locally for sale. I am local, (fresno). I may be interested in entire car, if price is right. Ron 559/642-8645. -Mac ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Thanks for help w/ electrical problem...The 100 amp fuse was burned, I tried to get it out and broke it all up. Is there someway to remove these? Probably something obvious, but I don't see how. Also if fuse is burned out I may have some short or something going on.. The car starts and runs, just no dashboard functions, including turn signals, tach, speedo, radio, etc.. Thanks to all. Is there some special tool to pull these fuses? Ron. |

Coming home last evening, I lost power to radio, turn signals, power windows, horn, all dash functions including tach and speedometer. I was wondering if someone can direct me to a solution. I eyeballed fuses, and from what I could see all looked OK. I did not however have much time as it was getting late. Any help is always appreciated, Ron in Central Calif, (Fresno). |

I am always looking for convertible parts. This one just came up today on Craigslist San Luis Obispo, thought I would let convertible people know. I believe he wants $800.00, there are pictures. Front end damage, but everything else looks like it's there. Ron in Fresno. |

For starters, disconnect the negative terminal of your battery, let the car sit a few minutes, hit the brake to drain the rest of the juice, blah blah blah. Driver's side airbag is easy. You'll need a T27 Torx head to get two screws out of the sides of the steering whee. From there, you can take the whole cover and airbag out of the steering wheel and the new one is just plug and play. Passenger side airbag, as I understand it, is a lot more difficult. You have to do everything from the bottom of the dash. I couldn't begin to tell you the process for that. The main control unit is under the center console. That's easy to take out. Two screws under the shift bezel, two bolts in the storage bin, and a plug for the ash tray light. As far as sensors go, again that's something that somebody else will have to help you with. Hopefully this just helps you get started and puts you in the right direction. |

I have a 99 convertible and a 99 donor vehicle. Can anyone give me a general idea what I will be up against to replace air bags, sensors, and control unit? I have looked into this a little concerning safety. I do not however know location of sensors and control unit. I think I can swap out deployed units with undeployed from donor vehicle. Vehicle had a front end collision and I have finally gathered up front bumper, crash bar, windshield, misc plastics, etc., plus donor vehicle with driver and passenger side air bags. Sorry for being so wordy, any help will be appreciated, Ron, (foilman) in Fresno. |

Has anyone adjusted valves? My 99 GT has a lot of valve clatter, I think the guy who had it before me blew a head gasket. Possibly he didn't adjust valves, when he reinstalled rebuilt head. There is plenty of oil up there, and when cold it sounds normal. When at operating temp the clatter is most noticeable. Any input would be appreciated. Ron. |

My 99 GT 2.2 will overheat. Fans sound like they want to come on (clicking) at relays, but don't come on. This is a new occurence, they were working fine. Last thing I did to vehicle was change shifting cables. Possibly I knocked something loose in the process? If anyone has any suggestions, I would appreciate it. Ron. |

Go to 1sttoyotaparts.com and punch the part number in to their lookup program and it'll tell you what other vehicles share the same map sensor - then you can have a look at a junkyard. There is a Toyota wrecking yard a couple miles from me and I can go see if I can't salvage a map sensor for you. Edit: just looked it up, and it says it's only for a Celica- and it's $269 dollars!!! I don't know if this yard has any 6th gens, but I'm going today anyways, so I'll keep an eye out for you. Thanks , if you find one glad to purchase it. Hopefully I don't have to buy new. |

I need one of these, does anyone have used, or any ideas what else may work? This one has 3 electrical prongs. Thanks. |

there's a bolt w/ a plastic "head" that has 2 nipples for vacuum lines on it, on the left side of the intake mani, within 6 inches of the map sensor. maybe she still works Schematic says map sensor goes to gas filter. Not sure where that is. Plastic head within six inches of map sensor w/ plastic head not there. There is however two separate vacuum connectors on intake manifold within six inches. Also fuel rail has vacuum connection fairly close by. I know I need to get some pictures up, and I will try. Not very good on the computer. Thanks, Ron. |
