Thanks in advance.

Why wouldn't it have a distributor...

And it's cheaper and easier to just go in and replace the piston rings (and I'd also recommend replacing the valve seals while you're in there) than it would be to just swap another engine in. That other engine might have another problem you don't like. Fix what you know is wrong. And if you can't replace them yourself, it's STILL cheaper to pay for a mechanic to do it.

Because 97 up are aluminum block and they are Distributorless.

I may be wrong on that assumption. I was told that 97 and up 1.8's were aluminum block and had no distributor. My mistake??

My '94 Cel has a 1.8 in it. Did a bunch on the engine when I put it on the road last spring. Great mileage but has bad rings and I'm not pulling it apart again.Just wondering if I can swap a 97 7afe in without too much trouble since the 97 has no distributor.
Thanks in advance.

I am running NGK BKR5EYA plugs in my 7AFE. One plug is carbon fouling. Anyone know of a hotter plug I can use since NGK doesn't make one for this engine.
Thanks in advance. kindasad.gif

Hey all, Just wondering if anyone might have a fuel filler tube for a '94 st hatchback that's in decent shape. Mine is starting to get real tender and actually there aren't any of these cars in any of the junkyards anywhere in VT that I can find.
Thanks in advance.

O.K. so hers my dilemma. I'm repairing a wheel arch in my 94 st hatchback. The color code on the label says 752. Opal teal BL. clear coat. the first chart has it listed as Baltic blue metallic. This car is a dark blue and from what I can tell the paint is factory and it looks closer to 8J1. I'm stumped because I want to match the right color when I get the new paint. any ideas?
Thanks in advance.

Ethanol may be the culprit. I also got a Suby all the time AWD with 193k on it and I average 30 around town and 33+ trips but I will not run Etanol ever as long as I can get non ethanol.

Hey All, So I'm almost done with my engine problems. 1 burnt exhaust valve, bad water pump and a busted exhaust manifold. 2 new valves, water pump, timing belt, etc. So anyway I'm putting a header on to replace the ehaust manifold. Came with the flex pipe, BUT, no hole for the O/2 sensor. only the one for the pre converter in the header itself. Anyone have any ideas how disconnecting the second O/2 sensor will affect everything?
Thanks in advance. Ron. kindasad.gif
