I ended up just taking them off the shifter. Turned out to be easy that way. Now I just have to get the rear engine mount off, and it can all come out! |

So they're still stuck! I'm thinking, if I can't get them off tomorrow, I'll have to disconnect the cables from the shifter itself in order to pull the trans. How do I do that? I looked at it briefly but couldn't see an easy way to remove them. |

Well I just tried it, and they still won't move! The clips are soaking in PB Blaster now, I'll try it again in an hour or so and hopefully they'll come out. |

What brand was it? I've never heard a single good thing about those products, unless the car was destined for the scrap yard anyway and the owner just wanted to keep it going a bit longer before its inevitable doom. Assuming that's not your case, the stop leak products can clog up coolant passageways in your radiator as well as the rest of your cooling system (read: engine, heater core). It is made to clog up holes, after all. |

That's not your problem. That's an easy fix. The real problem is that you poured stop leak into your cooling system. I suggest you flush it out now before it does any damage, if it's not already too late. |

So I'm almost ready to pull my engine and trans, all I need to do now is undo the mounts and it can come right out. Except for the shifter cables, they're held in by these C-clips that I can't get out. I don't know what I'm missing here, is there something holding them in or are they just rusted to the case? Neither one will move at all. ![]() |

I know this, but I'm working on the floor here, so I figure I may as well just pull it. Plus I plan to swap in a v6 next year, so knowing how to pull the 5s before I start that would make things easier. |

So I have to replace my clutch, and I decided to just pull the engine and trans out together to (hopefully) make it easier for me. I'm in no rush since I don't have an engine hoist yet, but I'd like to get it ready to go as soon as I can. A few things I haven't figured out yet: How do I remove the wiring harness from the ECM? Is it just me, or is there some reason I can't find it? I have my glovebox, and radio out but I don't know where to look next. Also, I was reading some posts before about 2 plugs behind the heater controls? Which ones? Is there a way to drain the power steering fluid? I'd rather take the lines off without getting a red shower. I need to disconnect the fuel lines, what's the proper way to vent the pressure in the lines? |

Why would you use 0w40? It says 10w30 right on the oil cap. This isn't some super advanced, direct injected engine, it's a run of the mill DOHC 4 cylinder. P.S. - don't use synthetic either. No point. |

Today I was doing a tuneup on my car, '94 5S-FE. As I removed the spark plugs, numbers 1 and 2 were fine, but 3 and 4 each had oil on the top of them, a little bit of oil was on the threads but I figured that was just from it leaking down while I was unscrewing the plugs. Is this a bad valve cover gasket, or something else? The engine runs great, it has high mileage but it hasn't given me any problems. It doesn't burn any oil either, as far as I can tell. |

It's 3 different colors. The steering wheel is bent just enough from the airbag going off that the new airbag can only bolt in on one side, so whenever I make a turn it slaps against the steering wheel. Semi-large dent on the back quarter panel. Radio antenna is broke, so I only get one station in my area and its only in certain spots. CD player doesn't work. It hasn't been driven since march, but that will change next week. Hasn't had an oil change since sometime last year. If I push the cigarette lighter too hard, it pops out the other side. But despite all this, for being 16 years old with 196k miles, it runs and drives excellent. |

I also need the passenger airbag (complete) and the two front sensors. I'd say $90 shipped for all of it. |

That's freaking huge. I think it'd cost $60 alone just to ship it! Lol I think he just wants the thin bar at the very top, not the whole thing. Thanks for the pic. Yes, only the top bar is what I need. In yellow: ![]() You can cut it all off with a sawzall easily. Let me know how much shipping costs and we'll work something out. |

All I need is excatly what you see when you open the hood. The metal bar that runs from fender to fender. It is welded to each fender, you can cut it off there, and is also welded on bottom. That is really it. Once you take the front bumper off you'll be able to see exactly what I'm talking about. |

It's just a metal bar, doesn't weigh much. My car was in an accident and the body shop needs this to finish the work they're doing to it. Really, all I need is what is shown in the picture, the bar that runs across the top. All the other pieces that are welded to it I don't need. |

Yep, the whole top bar is what I need, from fender to fender. And if you'd like to include the headlight support (attached to core support, behind bumper), I'd appreciate it. |

I need the core support. If you're really parting out the car, I'll pay a good price if you cut it off and send it to me asap. |

This is easy, since I've only had my Celica a week: ![]() bought the car with bad tires, I was driving on a wet mountain road I'd never been on before, came up upon a sharp blind curve. Well... I didn't realize how sharp it was, so I downshifted to power around the curve (this car is too much fun to drive), and then I saw it. Much more of a curve then it looked, and I was heading right towards a bunch of big rocks some rich guy put out front of his property (so people would run into them, said the tow truck driver). I tried to brake, but the wheels locked up, and I went right into one of the rocks. Ouch. Good news is it will be back on the road in a few weeks. |

well I might be interested, but that depends on what I can find at a yard, since I need a new hood quick. I'll get back to you in a week or so if I can't find anything else for cheaper. |

http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d138/mus...73/supports.jpg I'm looking for the bar that goes where the yellow line is, the bumper support to be exact. Also, if you could cut off the rad support and headlight support (black arrows), you'd be helping me out big time. And the drivers airbag? also, I need the supports that the metal bumper bolts onto, really need the passenger side but I'll take the driver's too. |
