Apologies for the delayed feedback my friends. Still have my finals going on here.
For starters, I didn't even want to let go of it but there are some things in life that are more important than the material ones. Lets just say the money from it is to be used for the benefit of my family. I reckon it's just plain selfish sticking to something that could ease the stress of the sole breadwinner of my family.
One thing's for sure though, when I start earning my own dollars and cents, I'll definitely get me another 6gc. Maybe a GT-FOUR too smile.gif

I'll upload some pics here after i am done with my exams for those of you who are not on fb

Here's a link to the final moment's i had with the car:

From experience: A caldina fourteen inch front hub is an exact fit for the fifteen inch in the ST202 given that the rotors, brake assembly and the housing for the wheel bearing is resused.

Just needs a nice drop mate, and whats that red lump in the middle? a cover for the Auto box? no manual over there?

I could never have an auto thumbsdown.gif

None the less, looks good

If i go lower than what it is,it'll be a bulldozer more than a car here(the potholes are merciless).lol.

Used to say the same..But was gifted with it.A conversion will be a must in time to come.As for now,im quite happy with the ease of driving on the auto box.

Thanks buddy thumbsup.gif .

how come the factory igniter is still there? do u still need it?

i was hoping if i got one of those igniter kits if i could eliminate the one on the firewall and mount the msd there

The factory igniter still lies there but is not in use since the MSD unit has bypassed it.

I beg to differ in the mounting location. Not that it wouldn't look any less good,it's just a matter of ones personal 'taste'.You're most welcome to try 'walk the talk' though =]

It lies there as a standby so to say..

what has been done to the heart of the beast
nice ride bro

Ah,it sure does.A few years back, right after the paintjob on the car(im guessing one of my fellow school students had a hand),the car had scratches(not too deep though.PHEW!) from what looked like someone had dragged a bag or something from the front drivers side of the vehicle all the way to the rear tail lights frown.gif ..That was the time that meguiars did its wonder and after a few weeks of washing and intense human buffing with the stuff,it all faded away easy biggrin.gif .
Hehe,i knew someone would ask.
Will do so right after i do a little tidying up in the engine bay(not to mention all that greasy, dusty dirt that doesn't come off just by wiping..grr...lol).
Thanks bro =]

Compression ratio (10.3 : 1) is still the same, my guess is different ECU tune.

Thanks Rusty thumbsup.gif
Anyone else think otherwise though???

Hey dude,

I'm interested in the MSD ignition system, how much does it cost, was it easy to install?

Oh by the way you should be using a higher octane than 91 with a 3S-GE

The ignition system all together cost me $318AUD shipped to Ausi of-course.Got it off performanceonline.com though e-bay
Yup,octane booster during fillups =]

QUOTE (delusionz @ Feb 14, 2011 - 5:55 AM) *
is this the direct power system your talking about?

direct power system (DPS)

ROFL!!!Jeez!!!now that's a downer..lol.Mine's a different one from what's in the link.I got mine as F.O.C anyways tongue.gif
But the car does feel a bit quicker(maybe its after installing the MSD where it aids in current flow or sumthing..idk,not a physics genius kindasad.gif ).
Here's a pic of it though:

Went for a trip to Australia, got back a few goodies for the celica =D

And to save on fuel (prices shot up to $2.37 a liter of 91 octane unleaded X_X) plus to add on some power(i'm not exaggerating by saying it adds power throughout the rpm range like never felt before), a MSD6A with a Tach adapter PN.8910-EIS :

Also added a Direct Power System Version 2 by Exceed and Trusty which i managed to get locally. Gives a noticeable difference nonetheless. Not too much though, but the car does feel a bit quicker.

Now I'm looking to do some work on the ACIS engage point as mentioned in the ACIS/BEAMS discussion but before all that,i'm bummed as to why there is a few hp difference between a manual transmission 3rd gen 3S-GE and one with a automatic transmission.I've read in this forum that the intake cams differ but shouldn't that affect the compression of the motor???For all i know, regardless of the transmission, the compression is the same...Anyone to shed some light on this??

Went to pick off some spares for my dads vehicle at a garage the day before yesterday and a group of natives surrounded the car as i pulled up. After i was done with chatting to the shop owner and went to my car,t'was still surrounded with the guys asking me what car it was. There's just a handful here in our little country. I told them it was a celica. So i got into the car, started it and just when i was about to pull out, this dude approaches me with a smart look on and face and asks "Boi,power steering??" .Yer,so i nod and roflmao right after i get past them.

bitter i think you nailed it on the head...according to the big book of B.S. (uti issued engine repair book) it says that if the radiator hoses are collapsed, than the cause would most likely be a bad radiator cap.
o

Lmao!!!Ok,i didn't realize the radiator cap replacement was a joke, anywho, lol. But i really need help on this issue.Don't want to drive around one day and end up with a blown head gasket..

Argh,i knew i missed something out in the write-up but the radiator cap was the first thing i replaced..Ok, another thing i forgot to mention was that sometimes when the vehicles temperature reaches its normal operation,i open the bonnet and see that the hoses have collapsed but since it is best not to open the cap and refill it,i drive it back home and see that the hoses are fine.I stress the word "sometimes" because the usual scenario is that i end up having to open the cap on seeing that the hoses have contracted, which releases air pressure it has built, further decreasing the coolant level to the mentioned 100ml or so which i eventually have to fill up.I really need some pointers on what the problem may be so that i don't have to end up changing something that was not the cause..I'll try changing the radiator cap again and see if the problem still exists but it really doesn't make sense that it would result in coolant level drop.Right?

Ok,for the thermostat,i do know that the valve opening temperature is engraved on it (82 degrees celsius) but is there a specific part number available for it. I doubt its available locally so any ausi members care to give pointers on where about i can find it when i fly over for x-mas and new years??Coolant vacuum lines??Not really sure where to go about checking that..The only thing i found in the service manual are that of the pipes that circulate coolant..Help..

Guys, i've noticed something rather peculiar with the cooling system of my car from about a week. The coolant level drops by about 100ml from time to time and with this, the radiator hoses become sucked with pressure developed within the cooling system and released on opening of the radiator cap. There are no visible leaks whatsoever and the pressure is normal upon testing by a friend. Also refilled coolant after getting the whole system flushed making sure to burp it for removal of any air bubbles. Could it be an issue with the thermostat ???Are the hoses reusable ???And is it that my radiators time has expired ???lol. I'm lost.
