Ive noticed how much car prices have been dropping lately, and how much trouble my car has been giving me, I'm beginning to consider getting a newer car. I've seen some cool cars for really cheap, I looked at the standard impreza's and you could get an 07 for around 9K with really low miles, but i heard that it's dead slow compared to a wrx. I was wondering what would you guys recommend me taking a look at for around 10-14 thousand dollars. I want something that's reliable, and something quick-ish, i wont be doing any racing with it but something that will be fun to drive. Also nothing older that 2006. I've been dreaming about the 06-07 wrx's but i dont know if it's the most practical car to buy, because like i said i wont be racing in it and i hear they're expensive to maintain. Theyre also like 3 thousand over my preferred budget. Has anyone had any experience with that standard impreza and what do you guys think about it?
Thanks in advance, looking forward to seeing what you guys think

So i sold the celica and now i need to get something new, sorry, i loved my car but it was getting old and rough and i didnt have the time or supplies to keep it in shape. I found a 2001 acura cl with 106K im gonna look at for 5 thousand. I was wondering if its worth it and if anyone knows anything good about the car. Interior looks beautiful and its got over 200 horse power. I also looked at some civics 2 doors from around 2002-2004 that were around that price range. I'd get a bit more mpg's but lose the luxury. IDK what do you think? anything else thats worth looking into? i got 55 hundred to work with as of now

can't really beat 4k for a salvage titled is300. depends on how bad the damage was. is300 are great cars. i have one and it's the best car i've ever own. i plan on getting a 5spd next year if money goes well. is300s are cheap now. you can find some for around 5k now.

if you see an is300 for 5 k please shoot me a pm lol i'd love to have one for that money

Just got your PM a few minutes ago. I will say about the IS 300 that you should get the '02+. The '01 was a great car, but still a little rough around the edges. I'd be wary of any car with a rebuilt title. As 95CelicaST and Garin said, there is likely frame damage. You did the right thing by passing on that one. I wouldn't necessarily rush into buying a car and putting down your savings. The IS 300 is indeed a great car, but it's not worth running yourself out of money for. If you were a little farther south in Illinois, you could find a better deal than $9,995 for one, but prices are a little high near Chicago. If you can make it to the Midwest Meet in June, I'll let you take mine for a test drive if you haven't driven one already.

well the one for 9995 was just one of the few that i saw, and around here it seemed like the best deal, all the other one were 11+ and had more miles. The reason i wanna get it already is because i work 3 jobs and have to be extremely careful with my money and with summer coming up it kinda bugs me that i have to worry about every little expense. I know that i will be able to make the payments and this way ill have more breathing room with my money. this is my summer between high school and college and i dont wanna spend it working the whole time. i dont think anyone really cares about my life story lol but yeah i think it will also be smart cuz i need to start building my credit and i think its safer to buy an inspected car then buying off of someone not knowing what ill get.

after asking some more detailed questions the guy told me the car is slow to accelerate, has check engine light on and bunch of other stuff. will pass on this one, however i am about to crack with this budget plan, im thinking i get one from a dealer, saw some really nice ones with under 80 thousand miles for $9995. im thinking i put my savings as a down payment which is like half, and paying the rest off within a year, im getting impatient and really want this car smile.gif

I wanted to post about it yesterday but got sidetracked with my 2 pussy..... cats.

What defines a real man is that he never describes his sexual escapades with other people. Most men of character usually mumble something about having a lady friend and switch to another topic. The fact that this guy continuously talks about getting in multiple woman's pants as if it took 0 effort on his part is as you said "pathetic". But having seen what my roommate did in college (had sex with 365 girls in one year on a dare).... well there were 3 pregnancy scares and he did get a few venereal diseases out of it but.... what I meant to say each and every one of those girls was a skunk. They were always wasted at a frat party and probably did not consent in the first place but were too drunk to do anything about it.

When it boils down to it.. non of us care about what you did or imagined that you did (whichever applies to you). This car website is not a proper venue to talk about your sexual ego

thats really immature and irresponsible in my opinion. he's going to regret it in the end, for obvious reasons that you mentioned but also how do you think the girls he actually decides to date are going to feel? nobody would wanna date someone thats been around the block 365 times.

i say no, its a salvage title, it has more damage, it is a northern car, and its an auto, i say nay

i might have misunderstood something...i thought it had a salvage title due to the rear quarter panel damage, does it actually mean that it had a previous accident?

this is the most pathetic **** i've read on this site. anyone else think he's compensating for most likely being a 30 year old virgin?
even if some of this is true, im pretty sure majority of it is exaggerated. you dont really care about this niece character, 90 percent of your storytelling has nothing to do with her, its just bragging bull**** about how much pussy you get. its like a lil wayne song where he sings about how hes the **** and then at the last second tries to squeeze something meaningful in it. which never works.

I am currently saving up for an is300, ive browsed a lot, and i dont have enough for one yet, however i do have enough for this one...

clicky

he's agreed on 4k without the fancy rims, which i dont even like to begin with, i would just buy stock ones off craigslist
i know a guy who paints cars and does body work, he estimated my celica which had like 4 rust spots, rust at bottom of doors, a dent in a quarter panel which had to be cut out and replaced and several other dings, he said to repair all that and put on 2 layers of factory quality coats, and 2 layers of clear coats would cost 15 hundred, this has what i think much less work, but i might want a different color though.
if its mechanically alright, all i need is body work paint and new wheels, i think i could fit under 6 k when im done
should i buy it what do you think?

I will definitely contact you around september, hopefully when i get a new car, and probably talk to you about some neon purple calipers, and few other accessories of the same color.

if no one got it for 25 hundred then shouldnt you lower the price instead of raising it a whole thousand dollars? I can see where you're coming from about investing all this money into it, but who ever buys it will need a whole new body, because as you said yourself in the other thread that when you got t boned the frame is damaged beyond repair, also your hood is all messed up, im sure its repairable but just think of all the work that needs to be put into it. Not to mention that most people are picky and will want all 4 wheels to match. Be more reasonable with the price because theres a ton of work that needs to be done to it, im almost 100 percent sure thats the only reason you are selling it. I know that if i had a 3sgte celica that was in good running condition i would hold on to that thing like no other.

I would like to do a screen print for the shirts, to get the best quality, and doing something like that would require 3-4 extra screens, i mean i would love to do that but most the members wouldnt want to pay the price that those would cost. Each extra screen is usually 20 dollars, plus extra paint and work that goes into it. It would be worth it if i was getting several hundred shirts printed but for a few dozen i would have a hard time even finding a person willing to print them.

Up for sale are 4 wheels with tires off of my celica. Three of the tires are in excellent condition, only one looks a bit worn down. But with winter coming to an end it shouldn't be a problem, it will last you through summer. The wheels are all in good shape, none of them are bent no curb rash or anything. Just get some hubs and you'll have a quality set of wheels on your car. These are great for someone who is reselling their car and has rims that they spent lots of money on, because you could just keep your expensive ones and buy these and still probably sell it for the same amount. Or if you have expensive winter tires, you could save those for next winter and use these for summer. Anyways make me a reasonable offer, im not looking to get a lot from these, especially on here, im not looking to make a profit just wanna give someone a good deal. Thanks for reading.

Nice pickup. I like the retro-ness of the exterior, and I've heard that they handle like they're on rails. I hate the interior though, it looks like ToysRUs had sex in there.

yeah no offense but you obviously spend most the time inside your car, and that interior looks so uncomfortable. im really happy with my celica interior. audi are by far my favorite cars on the inside. i could live in one of those smile.gif

never understood the invader craze.....
maybe because it reminds me of ricers or maybe because I just don't see the art in it the way you guys do.
who knows. carry on.

i think it degrades our cars, personally the factory bumpers look so much better then the invader ones.

does anyone have the link for that fs thread, the one where he claimed he was going to pick up parts from some junk yard or some guy he knew?

and if anyone doesnt believe me, then here are the messages from him, like a week after i sent my money i asked on the status he said:

"i have all the stuff. i am waiting on usps to get their shipment in. (they were out of the boxes that we needed) they said check back in on tuesday... sorry for the wait."

4 days later

"yes. sent it all out yesterday night smile.gif"

a week from that day i asked for a tracking number

"sorry. waiting to get my car back from garage. its in the glovebox"

4 days after that i asked for my money back

"i have the parts. i tried transfering the cash from my paypal to my bank acc.
my bank rejected payment. i don't know why but it did.
if you could just be patient i'll have the parts out soon. i have everything you asked for
and its all in a box ready to be shipped. i just have to wait until i get paid, i really
would prefer to not have all these extra parts lying around if i can help it.

but i'm sorry for the inconvenience"

then two members talked to me (i dont think i need to mention their names, atleast not without their permission) said:

"I've paid, gotten nothing, and he won't even reply to me."

and

"he told me he was away in cali for a week and when he got back my box was returned to him because he had the address wrong. He 'says' he is sending it off today and he is giving me a tracking number. I know pretty similar to the story he gave you. Funny how it took a paypal dispute to get him to contact me."

so yeah guys think for yourselves, sorry if it seems like im going overboard with this, but i dont want other members losing money like i did.

i didnt really care to, he promised to give the money back and probably did the same for others so they just kinda been holding their breath and hoping he would return it before leaving anything negative. i got several pm's from other members about how they were ripped off too. i think his fs thread is now deleted but the moderator or whoever locked the thread knows all about it.

The members can feel free to correct me if im wrong on this but looking at your pictures you have stock tailights, if they were to model these Altezza lights, they would have to base them of off yours (in my opinion by doing some sort of a mold) which would mean the altezza lights will have the grooves that stock ones have. what im saying is it would make more sense to have a flat tail light like the jdm ones.

also i dont think you can manufacture stuff like this with a snap of your fingers...otherwise these would have been around for a long time...for every car there is.
also i dont think a manufacturer will go through all this trouble to make 10 of them. i mean damn he's talking about designing and putting these in production...idk just sounds a little too good to be true doesnt it?

and finally, if these too good to be true tail lights get made then i just have to say in MY opinion they would look retarded. i think the jdm lights are the perfect lights for our cars, obviously some people will like it, but if i saw a celica with those the first thing that would come to my mind is that some 17 year old who is trying too hard to look cool is driving it.

i just think this guy is trying to scam the 6gc community of 2000 bucks. and sadly if no one questions this, he will probably get away with it.
im normally open to ideas and wouldn't question our members or be rude to them, but im not the only one who got ripped off by him. there was a fs thread that got closed and there were like half a dozen people that didnt get what they paid for or their money back. he just waited til that died down and now i think he's back for more.
