Just read through your whole topic mate and i have to say im inspired! Im currently collecting the parts to do a FWD 3sgte swap over here in Ireland and ive been getting a bit disheartened lately being let down on parts and an engine deal fell through but seeing the work you put in has revived my want to get this underway!

Car is looking great and the engine just sits so pretty tucked in the bay there biggrin.gif

Nothing major for me, Hifonics Titan 7508D amp running 2 Audiobahn ALUM12Q Subs, speakers all round are stock ran by a 7 year old pioneer headunit. Subs are prolly good for about 140db but theyre being pulled out to be replaced with something high end like an Fi Audio BTL or something similar. Tune it for lows and shake people laugh.gif

Hi guys, had my car about 2 weeks now and one of the things that needs doing is the boot lock fixing. The car has had an unsuccessful attempt at a break in b4 an the boot lock was replaced but has no key, as a result anything to do with opening the boot is kinda taken off, including the boot popper from the inside. i unbolted the boot latch today and it just been fixed in the locked state to keep it closed.

My problem is that i have no idea how its supposed to go back together and more to the point if im missing bits, so if someone could post a picture of the workings and wiring of the lock and latch that would be great. i have a green wire with a red stripefrom the wiring loom that has been cut and on the latch i have a grey wire coming from a switch that is also cut.

any help would be great thanks.

Pete

Thought id post up some starter pics of my Celica, i picked her up a week ago an so far have only managed a clean an quick polish due to the irish weather being so terribly dire!

Shes an import SS-II as far as i can tell from the VIN number :>

At some point in her life some1 has robbed the car of its front fogs and the JDM license plate holder from the rear hatch, Most likely replacements from damage i guess. but the engine is strong and drives amazing.

The tyres are huge 225/45/17s and they scrub like a bitch if u go over anything more than a penny.

im in love <3 once i get to work cleaning her up and sorting her out ill post some better shots biggrin.gif

mine has the SS-2 vin number aye, st202-BLMVF all the writing on everything is in japanese, the sun visor. the tire pressures, all that crap too lol. The front bumper has been changed at some point in its life. all in all damn happy with it tho. didnt cost me allot and is so much fun, few things to sort out on her (she has a scuff on her side and the tyres are ****ty) but i just fell in love with this one in particular.

just a few more questions to bug you guys whilst im at it already biggrin.gif firstly are the hyper sport celica mats rare? read quite a few times that people are looking for em cuz mine has them. 2 in the front and 3 in the rear. and secondly im assuming that the 3sge engine shares serviceable parts (filters, plugs, leads etc) with the uk spec 2.0 gt?

thanks again

uploading some pictures from in the dark now lol!

i need some help identifying exactly what ive got myself here. its definitely JDM (everything written in jap) and the 3s-ge engine code. it has electric folding mirrors. the engine looks like the normal GT engine with a 2000 Twin Cam sticker on the top of it. this isnt a VVTi engine is it? cuz the kick at 5500 rpms and the noise change makes me think it is lol.

Hello every1!

Just bought me a Celica today and what a buy it was, i set out to look at a silver 1998 2.0GT and when i took a look at it i was surprised to see allot of Japanese writing and a 3S-GE engine code. needless to say that with a few niggles i took her home for £1450 quid and what an amazing drive she is.

Jus wanted to say hi to every1 im busy trawling this site for all the information i can since im an avid car enthusiast i wanna know everything about my baby!

will shoot up some photos soon!

Thanks Pedro
