what would my celi look like if I lowered it about 1.5" all around on stock alloy rims? is it too low? what can you guys (and gals) tell me from your experiences?

Also, would I need to disconnect the battery cables in order to reset the Mass Air Flow (MAF) Sensor?

or pull fuses your choice

do you happen to know which fuse(s) I would need to pull out?

I had the Ebay SRI on my car for a long time. Although I'm sure you guys get it hotter, we regularly hit triple digits here PLUS humidity. I never had any issues at all. MPG will not improve. You will see it go down, actually, because you'll be flooring it more often just to hear the intake.

...so if I don't floor it often... will my MPG still be the same as with the stock intake?

would a generic short RAM intake cause a car to stall at stop signs or intersections due to the hot air being sucked in by the filter? I live in Northern California where we experience summer heat up into the triple digits and I would not want my celi stalling constantly because of the SRI. Also, would my MPG improve?

Im sure those wires run to the ECU harness somewhere, just didnt dig around. Cutting them is required to take off the shifter handle (as far as Ive experienced).

i got a question... where would the ECU harness be?? inside what is known as the center console?

well this is the shift knob that I got for my celi... i like the way it looks and it kinda looks like the ones on the 7th gen.

http://www.amazon.com/OBX-Super-Automatic-...k/dp/B0016C0ZX8

I just haven't gotten around to installing it because I really don't want to just cut the OD wires. im gonna see if I could somehow "disconnect" the OD wires from the "base" although I doubt i'll be able to do it. BTW, is ripping/cutting the OD wires the only way to get the entire stock shift knob completely off?

what trdproven said is true!! for some really weird reason cheela's ac lines seem like they are lower. I know that if i put the strut bar in place it would definitely put too much pressure on the AC lines and im afraid that I would damage them. any other options anybody???

does anyone have some knowledge on installing the aftermarket fog lights? my celi already came with a pair of PIAA aftermarket fog lights but the thing is that they don't light up. i checked all of the for blown fuses in the engine bay and in the cockpit but they all seem fine. I would very much like to get these fog lights to work! can any one point me in the right direction in diagnosing the problem??

they look like they're on but its really the flash form my camera.

idk much about electrics but i'm assuming this is ground for the fog lights??? and yes... those wires are connected to the fog lights.

this also runs to the fog lights...

I have a feeling that a fuse should be placed in there?? (please excuse my lack of knowledge regarding electricity)

more wires running from the fog lights to the battery posts

the red and black wires run from the fog lights to the firewall

and finally... the PIAA ON/OFF switch.

where should I start?

put pics of the strut bar...

you may end up bending the lines if you place it there.

i will post pics tomorrow morning once i get a chance to give u guys a better idea of the issue i'm having. I'd just hate not being able to install that strut bar!

Hey y'all. ok so here's the thing. i got my front strut bar brace in the mail yesterday and was all excited until I "tested" the strut bar and figured that the AC lines are in the way!!! did anyone encounter this??? and if so how did y'all go about installing the strut brace?? here are some pics of what I mean. the right strut tower won't interfere with the installation. its just that the AC lines run above and close to the left strut tower, which won't allow me to place the strut bar in place. what should i do??

on this image you can clearly tell that the AC lines are in the way....

could I perhaps move that bracket into that extra hole down there??

If I were to somehow move the AC line would this be affected??

any help/ideas/suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

has anyone bought a front strut brace for their celica?? I have a 97 ST (7AFE) and I'd like to know if this strut brace would clear the hood. Here it is:

hey guys. i'm currently looking at the toms lip on the link below:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/94-95-96-97...sQ5fAccessories

will it fit on a 1997 ST hatchback? cuz i heard that it won't fit on some models because the bumper is different or something like that. correct me if im wrong. also, if it would fit on a 97 ST Hatchback, what size of screws/bolts should I use to install it.. or should I use some sort of glue instead? sorry guys.. im no expert @ this!

You have to remove the Overdrive switch wiring somehow. Most people cut it. I never found a way to take it off without cutting wires =_=

I guess im gonna have to cut it then... which was not what I was hoping to do! ok. Thanks solidxsnake!

hey y'all. i was wondering if anyone knew how to remove the auto shift knob in an automatic? (yes... an automatic! lol.) i've been struggling with it. I have already removed both screws that are located on the front of the knob and have taken the center console off but have had no luck. The shift knob just slides up and down but it won't come completely off. I'm afraid that If I pull on it too hard, it'll break or that I will damage something. I've also googled this topic but have had no luck so i'm turning to the 6gc community. any advice would be greatly appreciated.
