lol, few ways you could go. More aggressive cams will bring you up to where you want to be, but that level would cause rough idling and kill daily driving comfort. Could also go with a properly tuned EMS, but that's rather pricey. Then there's the SC kit by JapSpeed, but that's UBER pricey.

Edit: High Compression Pistons would also achieve some benefit.

Of course, any EMS will fit ANY car. That's the whole point, it's a stand alone ECU that's non-car specific.

That's what I have

the whole point in getting the 86 is for the RWD and the 50:50 Weight Distribution. Getting a '92 is pointless other than for a nice daily driver car...

EMS = Engine Management System. A standalone unit, such as the Haltech E6K or E11, can completely control everypart of your engine, and can be tuned to the specs you want. By using a dynometer and this software provided with the unit, you can take full advantage of the mods to your car, and tune the fuel/air mixture for peak performance throughout the power band. Can easily add 30hp just through tuning.

There was one on eBay not too long ago. I have one, in Customs somewhere. May be selling it, dunno.

just the bottom plug on the radiator is what you need to drain it. Then a hose down the top pipe. For a full flush, the thermo needs to open to flush out the block, which means the car needs to be on.

RaceTEP in NoHo, Cali built a 5SFE MR2 Turbo to 300hp on the stock tranny, said it runs fine, just don't launch it

and boat loads of non traction. For strip purposes I would get a 3sgte with the MR2 tranny /w LSD. Only time I would want that much power/torque would be if I had an actual all-trac, with the AWD to handle it. For twisties purposes, I would take a 3rd gen 3sge and get the SC kit from JapanSpeed in the UK, not to mention the JUN stroker and other goodies. Massive HP and Torque figures aren't always what's going to get you what you want to do. A time and application for everything.

And no it wouldn't. New non-vvti cams = no more vvti. Just a pretty Head cover.

the tranny itself will hold up to about 300hp, no traction though and you have to be REAL careful about launching it (meaning don't). There's an LSD you can buy for it from TRD I believe. The axles, however, will not hold worth ****. Would need custom axles, like from driveshaftshop.com The 3sge tranny is better all around, can hold more HP w/o fear of breaking.

Plus, pretty sure you can get an LSD for that 202 tranny. Just keep it

225 ft-lbs @ 3200 RPM. Gives you a much more streetable engine...assuming you can get traction.

That's exactly my point, assuming you can get the traction. I have a car that's kickass in the twisties with the 5sfe. With 100 hp more, and w/o the traction worries of the GTE, I'll be flying.

I wave and put a thumbs up to each 6gc I pass (tons in the LA area). Some respond, some stare like I'm a luni tongue.gif I think people might see it as some sort of Gang affiliation if there was a hand gesture though

The power does not go through the high revs. The BEAMS VVT-i is not what everybody thinks of. There was a deep discussion of this on celica.net that was very explanatory. The BEAMS revs to 7400, only 400 above a 3sgte. The BEAMS can very solidly be placed at 240 hp with a good exhaust and an EMS, not so bad in a car that weighs 2590 lbs. I would take 240 N/A over 255 Turbo anyday, but that's just IMO and why I chose to go with the BEAMS.

I don't think this is possible to disable just the rear portion of the AWD system. Besides, the 205 box is heavier than the 202 box, you wouldn't want that. Also, the 202 box is strong, it won't let you down. There have been no issues with it's durability over that of our (United States) 204 box.

To test this theory, get some ethonal, called starting fluid. Spray this in the TB with it open, then try starting the car. Should run for about 4 secs or so, off the Ethanol of course.

yeah, somebody on celi.net posted a pic of what it's supposed to look like a while ago. It's a block with what look like "valleys". Like this

_|_|_|_|_

Something like that, not very good on the ASCII art.

Bought these springs for my '95 Convert, something didn't work right with installation of GR2 Shocks in the process. They have about 20 miles of wear on them, a little scraped paint on the front ones. I bought them for like 200 or so from Tire Rack not including shipping. Will sell for 150 Shipped OBO. Will take pics tomorrow.
