i cant see a pic if you posted on so im gonna guess that the hose you are talking about is the crankcase ventilation hose. there would be no vacuum on that hose. if you want to suck seafoam into the intake a good place would be the brake booster line Where's the brake booster line?? ^_^ |

yea, funny thing is even when i crack the throttle, there's no vacuum, so i can't suck sea foam thru there. |

Was wondering if there should be a vacuum effect going on if I was the pull this line out? There is air blowing out of the hose that's coming out of the valve cover but there's no air sucking in at the throttle? does this mean I have leak somewhere? the car seem to idle just fine now that I reseal the valve cover gasket. ![]() (pic taken from GetToyota) |

ok, on topic here. the top plate have 3 little holes where the rubber notch line up to it. Do the 3 holes go outside or inside? I am confuse becasue my left side go outside and my right side goes inside? I follow the little notch on the bottom of the plastic when installing the spring and that's how it's face help! |

i think it might be a vacuum leak too, because after driving, the car smells funny from the engine. know where's a good place to start or a good way to find out which is leaking? |

Basic stuff to help is what you would do for a tune-up. Replace: - Wires - Rotor cap - Spark plugs - SRI - Clean air filter ( I use an injen SRI and use the k&n air filter cleaner and oil lube kit, works like a charm) - Map sensor filter ( I replaced this because mine broke and when I changed it, it automatically made a HUGE difference with mpg :-D ) - Clean oil and filter ( use mobile 1 or castrol. I use 15w30) - Clean fuel filter - Cleaned fuel injectors ( look in the FI forums for some good places to send them out to) - Good gas ( chevron and shell is all I use, and use 91 as well. Nit only does it help with mpg, but u will feel that the car responds better with the throttle :-D ) - Don't use a lead foot ( be smart with accelerating, stay under 60 on hwy. When in residential I will actually coast in 4th gear and accelerate in 3rd.) - Exhaust mod (if you have one with no FI, don't go any bigger than 2.5" like someone alrdy mentioned. - No Air conditioning ( don't use it. It will greatly deplete your mpg. If you use ur fan only, it won't reduce it as much, but still will. I just leave the vent on with the airflow turned all the way off; I'm still able to feel the breeze. - Reduce car weight ( like someone mentioned earlier as well. Helps quite a bit for gaining mpg. - Use a o2 wideband sensor every once in awhile to tune ur car and check the productivity of ur car. Map Sensor filter? is it the actual map sensor? i tried looking for the "filter" but not really sure what it is? |

Axles are cheap, like 50-80 each, get em from an autopart store. Pads are also cheap, monroe and wagnar is running a rebate on them. caliper is the expensive part... i think i got mine for around 100each or something. look on ebay or rockauto.com for parts. rebate for the pads - http://www.rockauto.com/Images/CurrPromoFi..._PadUS_back.pdf |
