That's what I kept thinking. I tightened the top shock bolt as tight as it will go when I replaced the struts. Did it out of the car with the spring compressed, then have checked twice when installed in car. Couldn't move the nut anymore. Have checked the 6 top mount nuts twice when installed in the car sitting on the ground.

Thanks for the recommendations guys. I did test all rear arms as suggested a few weeks ago. Couldn't replicate the sound. Then removed rear seat and got a workmate to sit in the back will I went slowly over some bumps at work. We located the noise to right rear top mount. You could actually see it knock and feel the knock with your hand on the top mount. Thanks again.

Hi. I have the pain in the ass clunk in the rear of the car.Have replaced endlinks, struts and swaybar bushes. Today Im pretty sure I have traced the noise to rear top mounts. Im after opinions on a reliable, replacement brand. Been looking at KYB, Moog, and Rocca. Anyone have any recommendations ? Thanks You.

Finally received my blue led dash kit. installed them and I am very satisfied, but can you tell me is it normal that climate control leds lights are little bit dim than others?

Thanks

I think it is a pretty common result going from other comments on here. My dash gauges look awesome but climate control is pretty dead on one side. I have the japan climate control. This only has 2 bulbs and they are both pretty much on the same side of the panel. Because the leds don't have as much light spread as the factory bulbs, they don't light all the way along the clear plastic light spreaders inside the climate control. At the moment im experimenting with adding extra leds. Put one extra in today but still might need 2 more to get a good spread.

It will come down to slightly annoying ride quality and a nice look (17s) vs slightly annoying looks and a nice ride smile.gif

You probably will notice a ride quality decrease with 17s and low profile tyres. I know I did. But the car looks better with 17s. A trade off. Directionals are quite a noisy form of tyre. I changed to assymetricals this week and did notice less noise. The tyres I went to are Toyo C1S. They are 215x45. Don't go to 40s.

Nice looking car, by the way.

At the moment my car has rear bar disconnected. Noticed slightly better turn in with no added body roll. Thicker front bar on your car will help with understeer.

What? Stiffening the front end increases understeer. Understeer is when you can see whats about to kill you. Oversteer is when you can't see it because you're going backwards.

Stiffer rear end results in less understeer from my test results. I've played with bars, bushings, suspension settings, and tires. Even with grippy tires, the front tries to go straight under lots of pressure. How I remedied my issue was by putting the ST205 rear strut bar (top mount) in, energy suspension rear sway bar urethane bushings, MOOG sway bar links in the rear, and coilovers with a heavy spring rate and a mid setting (18 out of 32) for dampening. My rear also sits slightly higher than my front end.

Car actually oversteers into corners at high speeds now with my winter tires on lol. No hand brake needed.

I have driven over the same hill, 5 to 6 min of driving, 6 days a week for 5 years. Hill has a lot of tight and off camber corners. So im pretty confident in how the car feels. So much so that I have the Moog endlinks and poly sway bar bushes going in next week and im not overly excited about it. I'll see.

What paint are they using that takes a month to cure? Good God... I've used acrylic lacquer and even in humid as hell Alabama it needed no more than a week sitting outside to cure before colour sanding and then buffing, polishing, and waxing. Has held up for two years with no flaws and still going strong. The truly professional shops can get it sprayed, colour sanded, buffed, polished, and waxed to a showroom finish that'll last for years in a weekend. Then again they have heated paint booths which goes a long way. Still, a month to cure is absolutely asinine...

Big big difference between being buffable and fully cured. Acrylic lacquer will not release all of its solvents in a week. The pro shops do spray bake and buff in a short time. Purely based on quick turn over to survive. I have been painting professionally for longer than I will admit and my thoughts on this subject are based on experience and also have been told by the Glasurit- BASF training rep about the 3 month proper cure for 2 pack paint. In particular sealing it off within the 3 months.

Its the painter or prepers job to clean the panels properly before painting no matter whats be used on it. This should be done about 3 times before colour goes on at different prep stages. If the original surface is shiny where the paints peeling of it hasn't been sanded properly. The information here about applying waxes and polishes over uncured paint (3 months) is correct.

Hi.Rear and sides will fit.The only diff on Currens like the previous post said is facelift or not facelift on the front bumper. That kit on trademe looks like facelift because of the clear front bumper indicators.Because the kits are fibreglass they arnt to hard to modify.A decent panel shop can easily modify the front.Good luck smile.gif
