Right, how dare he try to encourage bilingualism in America. Other countries most people know English as well as their native language, but here why should we put any effort into learning another language? We don't even have a national language.

Nevermind his foreign policy, budget plans, and domestic outlook, he wants people to learn another language! That really burns me up!

Typical American; thinking the entire world should cater to you.

Typical American? You should watch whom you say that to. I am MOSTLY IRISH and SIOUX NATIVE AMERICAN. I have more of a right to have my stand on his idiocy than you do,sir.

So guess what? AMERICA was built by who? The IRISH,ITALIANS and FRENCH. They've all adapted very well and english is our centralized language. Just because some moron hasn't come out and printed "HEY,IN AMERICAN ENGLISH IS THE NATIVE LANGUAGE,K,THNX,BI" doesn't mean it's not.

I've traveled different countries and I have been to 3rd world countries and seen first hand gates to hell...most of them are surrounded by fear and ignorance. Ignorance is believing your government or your religion will save you from starvation, rape, and death.

I work in Southern,NH... I am a few hours from the Canadian border and 20 minutes from the car theft capital of the world...Lawrence,MA

I am SO sick and tired of people that obviously aren't citizens coming up to me and speaking spanish just because my skin is dark. I just want to be like...."Hey,if I had a freakin shamrock and a dream catcher tattooed on my forehead would you be dumb enough to do that!?"...The answer is probably not.

But,what pisses me off to no end is when they act like it's MY fault that I don't speak spanish and start with an attitude and swear about me to their friends in spanish. How rude.

So,yea,Let Obama open the borders and have more disease and STDs in the country. There is a REASON when you,"Americans", go to Mexico they tell you NOT to drink the water!

And FYI, I have nothing against anyone who is Spanish or Spanish-American as long as they have done it the right way and don't think I should cater to them. At my work I work with guys from Guatemala, Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic...they are REALLY hard working guys that will do anything for you...Do you know what THEY say about Obama and the whole America should learn spanish thing?

...

They think it's BS too! They said,we came here and we got our citizenship and we learned the culture of the native people and how to speak english because english is the language of work and money.

Also, maybe someone should tell OBAMA that we are not all ages 5-13 so guess what? Learning something that in depth is NOT GOING TO HAPPEN...we're past our spongy learning ages.

This is the type of crap that starts civil wars.

On a second note...Bush was protected for years from any assassination attempts because he let people have guns and thought it was cool.

Ignorance breeds ignorance and there are still people who hate because of color of skin and believe me...Obama,even if he does he elected into office, would stand more of a chance swallowing darts than staying alive the entire year.

Perfectly Stated.

See learning spanish is not the issue here. "everyone should learn spanish" is a F*cking talking point. It sounds good when he says it. The fact is, we speak english here. All these people who work their ass off here have worked hard to learn this language and adapt to us... yeah I said it adapt to us. You know US the people WHO LIVE HERE. Just because it isnt a law that English is our national language, doesnt mean that we should up and change it because we have 20 million illegal immigrant who are to ignorant to learn the language. Im sorry if I was going to illegally move to a country, the first thing I would do is learn the language. Kinda try not to stick out like a sore thumb. The whole speak spanish issue goes hand in hand with open borders.

But here is the count. Open Borders BORDERSSSSSSSSSSSS See the S at the end that in american english make a word plural. Oh yeah did we already forget that we have 2 borders. Ok so heres how I see it.

America Speaks English.
Canada (the other border) speaks French and English
Mexico speaks only spanish.

Thats English 2 - Spanish 1

hmmmmmmm Should we force canada to speak spanish too? if the mexicans come here its only a matter of time before they continue their free ride into the land of universal healthcare.

Dont even start with me about "boo who wah wah cries..... You think americans are elitist who should never learn another language" Well I am about to give away my secret. The Illegals here will flip out.

I speak spanish. OMG did he just say that GASP. Yeah. I speak spanish, but I will never utter a word of it to someone who comes in this country and tries to come to my work and have me help them in their native tongue.

Oh heres one more, for all of us american ELITISTs.....

Languages I speak.....

Spanish
Sign Language
French
German

and Conversational Mandarin Chinese.....

This coming from an American who wants everyone to learn english.....

Oh and.... If English wasnt so important like people want to act like it is..... Why is it the international language of business.

Why in Germany are the children put through 8 years of English....? Hmmm thats odd. Maybe the Germans should learn spanish if Obama gets Elected.

Wait I have an Idea that might help turn around the economy. Everyone buy stock in the printing companies of "how to learn spanish" books. If Obama gets elected I can see their stock going waaaaaay up real quick.

Obama thinks America should learn spanish. That being said, I'd vote for anyone against him.

I am all for everyone learning another language. It would help everyone to culture themselves by learning another language. The problem I have with Obama on this point is that he wants us to learn spanish to accomidate the illegals swarming in this country. I live in houston Texas. We have so many illegals its not funny. The problem is you cant tell off hand who is illegal and who has just chosen not to speak english. This is America. If you want to live here.... speak english when you are trying to get things. Anyone who thinks its ok for us to accomidate people by learning spanish to ease their transition, I DARE you..... try this. Go to france and try and order something in American English. Good luck getting service. And watch out for the "its for a cop" burgers. America is trying to be turned into a nation of appeasers. This is BS. I truly believe if you are not in a country ofyour own, try to speak their language as best you can. Here in houston, spanish speakers dont even try to speak english. They just speak spanish and look at you like you are stupid when you dont respond in spanish. That being said.... I cant stand Obama.... His stance on everything has flip flopped so much and people still follow him in droves. I think the language we should truly learn is the language of the sheeple that flock behind him... BAAAAAAAAAAAAAA maybe then there can be some sense spoken into them.

politicsareevil, i was wondering where youve been! great add on! while i partly disagree with the statement that people are only voting for him because he's black (although some black folk are under the false impression that this is some sort of liberation by obama being nominated) I agree with you that we need to scrutinize this guy. now that there are mainly 2 front runners, i can be more desicive. hillary was distracting alot of people. Obama is an intelligent guy as are teh rest of the canidates, but what worries me most is that there are outsiders attempting to make mountains out of molehills for the specific intent to distract voters from REAL issues. thanks for bringing to light some of his faults, because alot of people are just blindly following whoever is leading their chosen party. its a shame...im beginning to think the brits are right about american intelligence kindasad.gif

BTW...ron paul for vp or colin powell!

Well I will say thanks to you too for being so kind to my words. By me saying people are only voting for him because he is Black, I do not mean all people.... but I do mean the people who say this is amazing electing a black man... it is great to me that color (obviously) is not holding him back. I too am proud of him for coming so far. I will admit just so everyone knows. I AM WHITE... Irish/Italian/German/Norwegian..... I'm about as white as they come.... that being said I dont want my comments to be taken as racist. BUT... If I were black, I would want to make sure the "first" black party nominee/president would represent my demographic well. As much as I hope that people dont vote for him "because" he is black, it will be very crucial for him to be a great leader because they will be a lot of scrutiny against him because he is a far cry from what we are used to. The sad part is there are a lot of racist people in this country. There are black people racist against white people who will vote for Obama simply for the reason that he is black and they can now stick it to whitey. Conversely, there are a lot of racist white people who will be waiting to attack and say i told you so at his every mistake. This will be a weird election and I hope it all goes well. But I see a lot of criticism for either party coming hard either way the election falls.

Let this be a warning for everyone.... in the time of our next president:

The war will be in shambles... Lives will be lost.
The economy will be broken
The dollar will still be losing value.
The gas prices will still go up.

We will still survive.

We are America, a nation of diverse and strong people. No matter what color person is elected we must all support our president for the betterment of our nation as a whole. If you do not like a policy or action that is made... speak up. Call your congressman... Make your voice heard. We are in a time of divide before the election. We need to work together after the election. Without unity of the two parties none of my afformentioned items will get better... They can not fix themselves. We need to let our policy makers know BEFORE THE ELECTION that we want our economy to strengthen, we want our energy independance, and we want to STOP being so DAM worried about how the rest of the world likes us. Quit selling this country off to other nations and lets try and build our economy back up as ONE nation... Not two feudal parties...

Does anyone actually realize that George Bush is NOT up for re-election???? People always say stuff like this. But the truth of the matter is ANYONE voted into office will not be George Bush.

Sorry, the majority of my life has been spent living in the shadow of the Reagan/Bush era, so from my perspective, Dub is just a sequel to that. My point being that I would hate to see this whole catastrophe dragged out any further. Will McCain be a sequel to Dub? Honestly, I doubt it, but I read conflicting stories on that. My interest lies in seeing this country take a turn for the better, not continue down the path we've been on for the majority of the last twenty five years.

QUOTE
Skin color shouldnt matter. I'm all for voting in a black guy, too bad Colon Powell isnt running for office.

I couldn't agree more with this statement. I desperately hoped that Powell would run for president, but the Bush administration made sure that could never happen when they used him as a scapegoat with the whole WMD crap. I think he'd make an outstanding president, and I'd vote for him regardless of whatever party he ran under.

QUOTE
What qualifies Obama to be president? Honestly, he has the least experience of all the Senators in the entire Senate.

I believe he actually has the same experience as Hillary. How long was Dub a senator? wink.gif

QUOTE
He also has the reputation of being the most liberal Senator farther left than Ted Kennedy... Many people may read this and think I blindly support John McCain. To be honest, I dont like the guy. I am not a republican, I am a Libertarian.... Obama I will admit, has to be one of the greatest speakers of our recent history. But the fact of the matter is you take the telepromter away and he stumbles over his own words because he cant put a sentance together on the spot. He is an idiot and an extremist. He goes along with whatever the public wants him to say. He is extremely maliable when it comes to public opinion.

Doesn't this just define pretty much any politician? laugh.gif I haven't seen this myself, so I won't agree or dispute it though.

He is a weak person when it comes to holding onto his "values" Take his pastor and "father figure" Jeremiah Wright.... He says that he has been following him for 20 years blah blah blah...... when the fiasco came down about his pastor saying such negative things he said I will not disown him for what he said he is my friend of many years blah blah blah... Well when the public opinion started to sway and started to not like Jeremiah Wright for the things he said Obama comes back out and disowns his "pastor, spiritual leader, and father figure" of 20 years..... wow talk about thrown under the bus to save your public image.

Agreed.

This is not history being made by nominating a BLACK man, this is a mistake being made by nominating the WRONG man. Sadly there is no good candidate up for election this term... I hope for the sake of the country Obama loses.... but at the same time I kind of hope that he wins so every one can see how they voted for someone who is not qualified for the job for the sake of "making history" I understand that black people want to see a black guy go so far and lead the country to greatness. But why does it have to be this guy.... I just dont understand why people think he is so extremely qualified for the job. If someone can give me 1 good reason why he is well prepared for this job I will shut up.... but I cant stand by and hear the BS of "history being made" it shouldnt matter that he is black..... yet people keep making that an issue.... Since when did just being black qualify you for anything other than being able to get minority scholarships... Please explain to me why being a BLACK man also makes you the RIGHT man for the job...

- Matt

I don't think anyone is saying that he's qualified because he's a black man. If that were the case, Jesse Jackson would've been president long ago. Hell, maybe Al Sharpton too. (god forbid on both!) I disagree that Obama is a mistake... but it's so early, who knows. The same can be said for McCain, too, don't you think? I thought early on that John Kerry would make a good president. Then he folded and ran off like a little bitch. Boy was I wrong, and for as much as I hate Dubya, I can honestly say that I think Kerry would've done way the hell worse.

So all in all, we're left with the following (to draw from something you said earlier): try to vote for the person you think is the least doodiest head of them all. Because IMO in the end, they'll all crumble when the teleprompter is off, they'll fold when backed into a corner by public opinion. That's why they have "advisors".

Did you do forensic debate in hs or college? Your arguments are well thought out and articulated. You remind me of a debater. Parli FTW! smile.gif

bowdown.gif bowdown.gif bowdown.gif

You handle your retorts with the utmost respect. I agree with you that most politicians are like that. All politicians are crooked in some way... the sad part is all candidates for president are all POLITICIANS.....

as far as did I do forensic debate.... No at the time, I had hair to my shoulders and kind of a beard.... they felt my "look" wasnt fitting for representing the school oh well... this just goes to show that if you look the part you dont always fit the part and just because you dont look the part doesnt mean you dont fit the part. I do very much take your question of was i in debate as an extreme compliment and I thank you for it. I try to not "freak out" when people say they like a candidate "blindly". I try to surround myself with facts and vote for whomever is closest to what I think is good for the country. you seem to be very educated on the situation at hand as well and at least we both agree there really is no good candidates this term lol. The way I see it is, whomever wins, can only get a maximum of 8 years in the office.... we will survive whomever is in office, it will just suck for 8 years if the person who wins is not who we like. Whomever wins, its not the end of the world... we should just hope that whomever it is does whats right for the progress of the nation...

I am getting sick of people attacking Obama over stupid stuff

I agree with a lot of what you are saying, but I couldn't help but point out this giant contradiction.

What I am trying to show is, if an attack is going to be made on someone (in hopes of hurting their candidacy) it needs to have some sort of merit to the comment. For someone who wants to drastically change the US healthcare system, it seems to me he doesnt know too much about medicine when he gets off his teleprompter.... what I was trying to say about "people attacking him over stupid stuff" that goes for any political candidate.... I do not like Obama, that being said, I dont think him NOT wearing a flag pin on his shirt has anything to do with anything. I think for the media to want to bash him for chosing not to wear a flag pin is childish. When I hear attacks like that it makes me think I am back in my 7th grade student council elections where people would say "would you vote for a man who doesnt go to our school football games.... he choses to play video games rather than support our school" What the hell man... what I am trying to say is... the attacks on candidates need to be attacks on their poor choices of policy, or poor thoughts on economic changes. When a candidate gets attacked it is supposed to show why that candidate is not fit for the office. Saying dont vote for him because he doesnt wear a flag pin is like saying dont vote for him because he is a doodie head....

Excellent post! You made some good points.
Here is my take on it...
I like that McCain sticks to what he believes in. I really do respect that. However, I don't like the fact that 90% of his policies are pretty much what bush supports. Domestic wire taping, war, same economic plan, and last but not least, hes almost worse at public speaking then bush!

We need someone to put this country back on the right track. Someone who we can be inspired and proud of to call our president. I think obama can be that, even though he was not my first choice. Id have the same view of him if he was white, black or asian.

Lagos.... I have the utmost respect for the way you handled your reply. Most people would have flamed me and said I was an idiot. I to like McCain for the fact that he sticks to what he believes, but that doesnt mean that I like him on all things, and like you said, and I agree with you that, he is not so hot on a lot of policies.... I think we can ALL agree there is no good candidate this election. The way I see it.... in the next 4 years america is going into the sh*thole.... by that I dont mean america will crumble, what I mean is, the war will end in tragedy the economy will continue to tank, gas will still sky rocket in price, all will be blamed on whomever is in office at the time. It will suck to be the next president. I am getting sick of people attacking Obama over stupid stuff... although I dont agree with Obama on anything, I personally can not care less that Obama doesnt wear a flag pin on his lapel... Who cares about that.... We need to view the candidates on substance and their stance on crucial economic issues... Also, please understand I am not attacking you by asking this, but.... What about Obama can we "be inspired and proud of to call our president." as you say. again, I am not trying to make an attack by that... I simply like to see from all view points as often as possible....

- Thanks,

- Matt

The question is, why would you want to? Is there such an urgent need to look at an image that it has to be done while you're driving? Sorry to sound like a safety nazi (which is really kind of funny when you consider that I'm German), but it just doesn't make sense to me to have this capability. Just my $.02.

Bragging rights. It's not that he needs it... its that he can say that his car can do it. The same principle as rich people getting a sports car that can do 180mph where in america can you get to 180? Its that fact that you can say "Mine can, yours cant"

So. As the title states..... if anyone is parting their car out after a wreck... I need the FULL dash harness from a 94-95 ST celica...... Dr. Tweak says there are a few connecters that were not in the box I sent him... My mechanic says he doesnt see them... Which leads me to believe the company who tried to do my wiring a while back screwed them up and they might not be there.... So I decided to see if anyone has the FULL dash harness for sale. If you need clarification on what I mean and you think you might have what I need please let me know.

I like how the "cold air intake" pipe uses that air filter to its full extent :L

Right? haha... I guess the idea in principle sounds ok... But it will never work. The best thing he could do is run a velocity stack to a hose that lets out right on the SINGLE intake. No need for twin intake.... but wait... hmmm isnt that EXACTLY what your stock intake box does....

You guys don't understand that, the dealer won't go through and check the car extensively. To be honest they will take the car for maybe 5-6K. As long as the exterior looks good and the clutch feels good then she'll get her moneys worth in the trade in. Then again the check engine light is on. If shes smart she will erase it and trade it in. I'm sure if the car was warmed it wouldn't struggle soo much during start. So she has a big chance to make money from her trade in.

I don't want to knock on your offer but 1000 is a little low.

Bingo, I worked at a local honda dealer.... they dont care about anything but body work. They can do the engine work themselves at cost. They know that. Most dealerships however do not have in house body work. So they would rather have crappy engine and great exterior. Plus they dont mind passing on a crappy car to the final consumer. It just has to work on the test drive. After that, its not their problem. Can we say crooked. Thats why the term "used car salesman" is like a 4 letter word.

People will buy it.

Oh I'm sure they will. Because it adds the magic words "forced induction" when you hit 35mph.... The poor kids who buy that.... It's just sad

I'm glad they are having Paul Walker back in the movie series. He fits the roll perfectly and I think he is a great actor hands down. He does a great job making imports less trivial than some "other" import movies have done. Madmods if I could ask one question to Paul Walker, it would have to be something along the lines of his technical proficiency of car knowledge. I would love to know if he truly knows anything about the cars he drives. To me it seems like he has some bit of knowledge towards them.

Matt,
Well I did ask him that question. He has a bunch of cars and bikes. 3 bad ass porsches, a ferrari 360 with the novitec kit, some hot rods, 2 skylines, etc. I was impressed. He knows his cars. He was real cool. He tripped out on the 430 front end on the solstice and the caymen vents in my fenders. I also asked him if it bothers him if people ask him for his autograph. He said not really, unless he is having a glass of wine with his girlfriend at a restaurant, then he would prefer to not be disturbed. I was impressed with him and that he spent some time
with our crew.

Thats awesome. Im glad he knows a bit about them. It makes me feel better watching him in the movies that he isnt just spewing lines from the script. And he actually knows most of what he is talking about. He sounds like a pretty down to earth guy. Good times. Enjoy the filming and I cant wait to see the finished product.

Yeah well I got one of those too..... I won it at a shooting tournament. FREE tax included. I hate the dam thing. Takes forever to feild strip has a hella hard slide release and I kinda dont like the feel of it. Now dont get me wrong. The gun is an AMAZING peice of work. The features are awesome the functionality is great. I just am not a huge fan.... But it is one hell of a nice gun.. for those who dont know what it is here is mine....

Ok I took it to the range today.... I got 2 inch groupings... It's pretty tight considering its not really a target gun. I'm loving the 9 mm. Little to no kick (for me) and easy to repeat fire. It is nice. Very Satisfied with my purchase. for 250$ it cant be beat

nice tool man, thats a nice size one. i just got my Class A a little while ago, have a limited edition 9-11 commemorative Beretta 9mm. its a nice unit just too big to conceal i'm looking for a nice smaller unit. any suggestions from people who have knowledge of these things?

jeeze those are high capacity clips.

There Beretta M9 / 92 fs is my absolute favorite handgun.... but it is a little hard to conceal. I will be getting my CHL (concealed handgun license) this summer when I have some free time. Its a 10 hour course down here so it'll eat up my saturday whenever I go get it. This S&W is 7 inches long total but it has a small 4 inch barrel. Easier concealed than the beretta, but still not perfect for concealment. I'm not a huge glock fan but they have some well concealed ones. Check out the Beretta Px4 storm. A bit smaller but all the good things about beretta.

EDIT: Just out this january is the Px4 Storm subcompact for concealed carry.

That is beautiful. I am a snubed-nose lover, but who can't appreciate beauty?

I am loving my purchase.... $299 for the gun and 2 clips.... Then Smith and Wesson has a rebate for 50$ and they send you 2 more high capacity clips for free. So in the end you get the gun and 4 16round clips for 250$....... cant beat it in my book.
