After much deliberation lol I have decided to sell my Celica as I just don't have time to finish the project.
Anyway its a 95 GT Conv. I bought back in '07 not knowing anything about a Celica, but liked the look of the car
and was told that Toyota makes great 4cyl motors. About 400 miles after I drove it off the lot the motor started making worse and worse noises.
I took it to a shop and they said it needed a total overhaul. So I had a "guy who has a shop and knows motors would rebuild it for me". Yeah you
know where this is going. Well he did and it ran great for a while, then I was driving back home from Minnesota pushed in the clutch when I was getting
off on an exit ramp and noticed the
oil light flicker. I stopped at the gas station right there and shut the motor off checked the oil and it showed good level on the dipstick. Then I started it
again after getting fuel and it sounded like a meat grinder.. I about set the thing on fire right there at the gas pump. Ends up I took it to a more
reputable mechanic this time, and he found out that the guy who rebuilt it didnt lock tight a pulley that drives the oil pump so it fell off as I was driving
and the oil pressure light was defective and not letting me know there was a pressure problem, how does that happen!!! so after like a year or so I put
a 5sfe from a junkyard in and was back up and running for a whopping 4 months. Then some one cut the entire top open to break into it and stole a
set of poker chips and f-ing Dave Matthews band cd... really? So I bought a top online and put it on myself to save money and it turned out looking
good. Then I found this site and forum and started reading builds that people on here were doing and had completed and it inspired me
to put a turbo on using the same methods/parts that I saw proven out by users on this site.
As it sits now motor runs fine and compression tests good on all cyl. but the clutch I put in did not set right or I did not get parts clean enough,
so it chatters on engagement and slips under power. I have drove the car but
never tuned it because as soon as the turbo spooled and I entered boost the clutch would slip. I finished that almost 2 years ago, but have since
moved into a new house and would like the room gained from getting the car out of the garage.

So... here is a list of everything on the car and extra parts:

Installed:

ebay knock off ct-26 turbo
sst exhaust manifold
Mishumoto intercooler/piping
HKS ssqv BOV and welded flange
oil filter relocation
metal head gasket
arp head studs
relocated batt. to trunk
optima yellow top batt,
removed ac unit
st suspensions front and rear sway bar
almost bran new Bridgestone tires
newer conv. top with plastic window
berk downpipe extra o2 sensor bung tig welded in
exhaust was never finished for turbo/ still has a glasspack and flow master muffler
apexi safc
460cc injectors
2bar sensor from 3sgte
fuel pump
autometer gauges: wideband 02, oil press., boost
pioneer head unit
infinity interior speakers
removed back seats/belts

Extra parts not installed currently:

toyota ct26 turbo (needs rebuild)
JDM projector headlights (high and low beams)
sst header n/a (with extra o2 sensor bung tig welded in)
original air box, fuel injectors, fuel pump, map sensor, cruise control
leather cover for when top is down
moroso oil pan for 3sgte
timing belt kit with water pump
gasket set
Alpine 10" type R sub and 500w mono amp with homemade box and platform/enclosure to replace back seat
capacitor

The paint is in decent shape for the age of the car but the gloss coat is peeling on the trunk and hood. Some rust has started on the bottom of the
doors but hasn't quite come through yet. This is a project car that is very close to completion but
needs to be tuned and the clutch fixed before it is road worthy. It has sat for the last year and a half and would have to be trailered. I have a truck
and trailer and could arrange transporting to you myself for payment of mileage if needed. There are some pics of the car from a few years back on my
profile already and if your interested I can send you more. I'm asking $2,800 for everything, and would consider any offers.

Did you put in enough oil to fill the bigger oil pan?

Yeah put in 6 qts, but I did somthing almost as stupid... when i relocated the oil filter I somehow crossed the lines and it was only able to get oil to the filter, not past it.... well i feel dumb lol. im workin on it now, hopefully can start it, check for leaks and have it runnin today

Double check to see if you tighten the pickup tube and its not leaking. Other causes would be a bad oil pump and that is a PITA to work on.

Ok Ill ckeck that those are tight when take the oil pan back off. I was thinking about it and I changed oil pans to a moroso hi capacity pan, when I put it on it looked like it left enough room for the pickup to draw oil but maby thats whats giving me problems. Has anyone else used that pan and had suscess? It said it was for the 3sgte and 5sfe motors. And yeah it looks like a PITA to work on, Im hoping changing oil pans back will fix the problem and I dont have to take the pump out lol.

I assume you hooked up a oil pressure gauge to actually see if your making some psi or not?

yeah i had it hooked up before I did the head gasket and turbo install and I always had good oil pressure, no problems till now....

cranking the engine over for a few seconds should be enough to get oil up in the system.

yeah thats what i was afraid of... so pretty much the oil pump is getting starved at the pickup or somthin? either that or its bad altogether. i guess im stumped because it worked great before i started all this

Hey all, I just finished up building my 5sfte setup after about a year and a half of researching and buying parts, and with alot of help from info on this site. Especially pressure2's build and really all who have answered questions regarding this motor. Thanks to all by the way, this is a great forum, very helpful. So I had everything ready to prime the turbo with oil, removed the iginition and fuel fuses and turned the motor over for quite a while but no oil pressure at all. I made sure the timing belt was installed correctly, (I had it off to replace the head gasket) so in know its turning the pump, idk if i need to prime the pump somehow first? Any sugestions would be greatly appreciated, im so close I can taste it lol....
