Hi,

np, i would built the system like

- crankcase system, connected to a catch can with a air filter free in the engine bay (no return to the turbo)
-> better knock resistant, cleaner ic

- iscv, connectet to the pipe before the throttle body ( intercooler to throttle body )
-> there you have fresh air and you also be safe of an possible boost leek over the iscv

nials idea is also a option, but on my engine and car i have fuel smell in the car by that, when i activate the fresh air fan

Hi,

not good, in the air out of the engine is a lot of oil mist, thats why you should run a catch can between engine and fresh air to the turbo

your engine looks a little modified so you better went the oil mist just in an catch can with a filter with no connection to the turbocharger, that oil has a negativ effect to the knock level of the fuel/air mixture

the line fron the turbo pipe to the throttle body goes to the iscv

Hi,

the iscv aint controll the A/C idle up

if it is gen.3 (ST205) ,there is a line going from the oem intercooler (single connection on the backside of the IC) to a valve and then to the intake manifold, this is where i see the problem

Hi,

cardshark, you are total right
the oem controll of the pumps is pretty opimal
and the shell of the ic has nearly no surface against his internals which makes a further heat shield nearly useless

many myths are going on on every forum of the world thumbsup.gif

Hi,

your data log isnt that fine when i see your iat it is just a straight line....down there i have uploaded one from me, total build engine, BW EFR6758, TTE water to air tmic, with custom pump and pre-radiator

here the built up if interested

http://www.6gc.net/forums/index.php?showto...6775&st=220

and here a cut out of my datalog, iirc it was ~30°C outside temp. so iam around +10-15°C over outside which is pretty good the theoretically maximuns is called at outisde temp. +10°C

the often called "heat soak" isn't what it is called, you see a high IAT when there is no boost and a drop down on boost but why? the answer is pretty simple, there is no air flowing over the radiator, or in other words nothing to cool down for him, the ic uses no heat shield and i'am using the oem intake box (which get his air from the cool fender area)

in your case i would do the following,

- drive as much water as possible in the system so rais the water ratio (i drive 2/3 water and 1/3 anti freeze)
wate is the best cooling liquid you can find on the world with his high specific heat capacity and heat transfer against glycol

- copy the oem programm of the ecu, my haltech also wasnt able to controll the pump like this so we built a small electronic for around 20€ or something

start, when you hit the gas pedal and a delay of 30sec after the pedal isnt pushed

Hi,

here you have a p&p pump i use on my st205 too

http://www.jabscoshop.com/marine/pumps/die...elf-priming.htm

you just need to manufacture some hose connections and a 54-killer

Hi,

that resistor just lowers the ampere on the instrument for security, i could also shorten him the ecu outups not that high amount of ampere just a few volts

the water temp gauge on the 3S-GTE is directly controlled by a temp.resistor in the water outlet neck, looks like this

-> 12V -> gauge -> temp.resistor -> ground

check for a open or shortened circuit

Hi,

i had the same problem with the gen.4 3S-GTE and his cops, i simple opened the combi-meter, changed the 43kOHM resistor of the rpm gauge against a 5KOhm (iirc), and then i used the haltech own 5V pullup rpm output

Hi,

possible i built a water injection next year to get 500NM up to the end......the engine was planned to use it and the nozzle is calculated and in place, would need tank, pump, lines, sensors, and a few wiring to the haltech
another 1000€ frown.gif -> + ecu tuning
will see, if it gets boring next year i do it biggrin.gif

Hi,

thanks man, it was a hard time to "develop" the engine, but it is still not damaged and nice running biggrin.gif

Hi,

on my engine with haltech i use the tach-output channel with 5V and replaced the 43KOhm resistor against a 1kOhm on the rpm gauge electronik (as shown above)
the haltech itself has the pull-up internal

Hi,

your engine is not warmed up fine, how high is the rpm once the temp. needle is in the middle of the scale? or after a drive of 10-15km?

-> if it is around 1000rpm everything is fine......

you just have a little temp on the water but your oil is still cold

Hi,

here is a concept you can consider

supercharger + turbo

Hi,

feel free to drop me any question i'am glad to help

the maximum rpm depends on the stroke and the safe maximum on 86mm is 8000rpm at ~23m/sec
but personal, the 3S has not enough cc to run a twin turbo setup and isn't professional built able, i would consinder
anti lag for lower touque and water injection for high rpm tourque, a EFR 7670 twin entry would be my choice of turbo

depending on the type of 3S engine you use you have the option for a higher flowing oil pump and water pump

Hi,

unfrotunetly, i don't can comapre them, but would go with EFR
if your target is ~550HP, in a few weeks a friend of mine activates his 7064 3S, so then i can tell you more

Hi folks,

thanks a lot, pretty nice to drive even in the city, the tourque is great

1,4bar boost

calculations show me/us that the 6758 fits perfect, and now it is clear that it fits biggrin.gif

do you have a link to that engine/dyno sheet?

Hi,

the beams uses a 3pin sensor, two pins are for the ECU coolant temp, and one pin is for the cluster (both uses different typ of resistance), that pin makes the resistance to ground so that the cluster can read the temp
you can find the values in the engine manual
