Yes, exactly. You've hit the nail on the head. The naturally aspirated 3S-GE BEAMS and the 3rd generation 3S-GTE have the least harness work to do and both are well-documented on 6gc. Both bolt right in and can use your manual transmission from your GT and with a little harness work, you're off and ready to go.

well thanks richee I appreciate it. So looking forward to get started. Already having a hard time finding a 3sge though kindasad.gif celicas arent to big around my area, wish they were. shame cause they look and drive way better than cheap hondas. but time and effort and ima S*** on all these guys haha smile.gif not that civics are bad but to many

Opinions on boosting the 7A are mixed. Some people like it, others see it as a colossal waste of cash. If you're getting a GT, you'll have an S series engine, not an A series, so you'll want to stick to S series swaps, not the A series. You CAN do the 4A swap... but why would you when you already have S series motor mounts and can swap a BEAMS for the same price and get more power? Or a 3S-GTE?

By the way, it isn't an "AFE" engine. It's an "A" engine with an "FE" head. That's why there's a hyphen between the "A" and the "FE." Your old ST had a 7A-FE engine, which is from the A series of engines. The GT you're about to get has an 5S-FE, which is an S series engine with an FE head. All the S series engines use the same motor mounts, and the A series use the same motor mounts. So the 4A-GE is NOT a direct swap for the GT you're about to get. Don't worry about a 4A-GE (A series engine, GE head) swap for your new car. Stick to the S series engines- more power, about the same cost. Most people who have swapped the 4A-GE into a Celica say it simply doesn't have enough torque for a Celica, which is heavier than the Corolla that the engine was designed for.

Holy good info wow. I appreciate it. this basically answered any questions I've had forever. good stuff thanks alot richee.
so if i get a swap and its an s series is it direct drop in. I know I gotta do harness work and little adjustments but as far as dropping in the motor and tranny it will just bolt on to my stock mounts

also I've heard that the 4age is a possible swap. the 4age 20 v is a bit cheaper than the 3sgte. so what are opinions on the turbo 4age black or silver top swap. or are there to many conversions that need to be done ?

Putting a -GE head on an -FE motor will be just as much as, if not more, work than a 3S swap. As for more power from either the 5S or 3S engines, you're pretty much limited to the basic bolt-ons on a budget. By the time you've saved enough money to get any real power from either motor, you have enough for the 3S swap, which gives more bang for your buck. You're really better off to do basic maintenance than spend $1,000 on intake/header/exhaust and only gain 5 hp.

very true and makes a lot of sense. thanks alot. Also I was reading on the howt to article on boosting an 7afe. is it even worth or safe to boost an afe engine ?

Search button if your biggest friend here; you would want to do a 3sgte swap, at least thats what most people do

Oh I know about the 3sgte swap. I would only dream of that. Its pretty expensive. and i did my part in research and couldnt really get much info that wasnt about exterior or like headers or exhaust and small stuff.

Hello forum new guy here with some questions. So I have previously owned a 94 st but wasnt able to work on it much so I'm still basically a newbie.
I plan on buying a 94 celica gt hatch 5 speed. I know the whole afe system isnt much but a eco. gas saver so I was wondering what can be done as far as swaps or part swaps or mods. Ive always heard that you can use a age head but im not sure if thats true. Im not looking to have a super fast ride but pick up some more hp than its factory gives.

noo this is a c-one font bumper its fiberglass and is nice but sucks for installo. i started to install myself and relized its a job for the pro,s. but even for them its sucked they said. and you must be carful wen going over bumps and other stuff cuz this will hang lower than stock bumper. mine broke my first month of having it installed. waste of money if its your everyday driver. stay jdm looking its sexier for these cars.

yeah trust me im a simply lip dude. i was just curious cause it looked alot like the gt4. thanks

these splitters were made for 96+ but work great on the earlier years. these install fairly easy. i used some of the stock tabs and drilled into the buper in some spots. they fit snug and flush one thing you may want to do is also have double sided tape to hepl hold it tight against. buth you can get these splitters from these two guys. (dustin15brown, vincent_doggy) good quality stuff and sometimes cheaper than ebay.

nice thanks alot man. i appreciate the help. i was told i can get trd splitters but these ssIII appeal to my eye alot more

No problem. The front is easy. Coupes and convertibles have it a little bit harder when it comes to finding rear splitters. The back of the car is just a little bit longer, so you have to find specific splitters. Your best bet is to search for "Curren." A Curren is basically a Celica coupe with a different front end. Toyota made TRD rear splitters to fit it. A few members here have them. They are a little bit harder to find, but you can find them if you are patient enough.

Be sure to post pictures of your coupe up thumbsup.gif

got it. thanks alot richee. now i even learned about a type of celica ive never even heard of. that curren celica looks kick ass.

Yeah, the TRD front splitters will fit both the '94-95 and the '96+ front bumpers. They just tend to look better on the pre-facelift bumper. They even fir the GT4 front bumper, provided that notches are cut in them. Here they are on presure2's (GT4 front end, TRD front splitters) car with the notches cut in them.

I had a set like this on my car. ('96+ front bumper, TRD splitters with GT4 notches cut in them.)

The SS-III rear splitters will fit any year Celica, excluding the coupe and convertible. Those are slightly longer than the hatchback. The SS-III front splitters that the members here sell were designed to work with the '96+ front bumper, but members have fitted them to their '94-'95 front bumper and one member even mounted them to his GT4 front bumper. There will just be a slight gap between the splitter and the bumper if they aren't matched to each other.

The TRD front splitters will be easiest to find on Ebay, but they don't pop up as often as TRD rear splitters.

alright so i pretty much understand my front. but then what about my rear. it seems as like there are no splitters or extensions for my coupe.
and thanks alot for the help. im hoping to bring the site a hot 94 coupe

OP- no problem. You can find the TRD front and rear splitters on Ebay, and some members on here (dustin15brown, vincent_doggy) sell replica splitters. Although, if I'm not mistaken, both members only have SS-III splitters.

Raven- you're right, the orange one is a Curren. I also realized after I made that post that neither car is anabolik's. His is green.

and again were talking about the 94 95 splitters right, those are the ones i can find in ebay or from dustin15brown, vincent_doggy

There are also TRD splitters for the front bumper. They fit both the '94-95 bumper like you have and the '96+ bumper, but they look better on the earlier model cars. Here is 808celica's car with TRD front splitters.

SS-III rear skirts, SS-III/GT4 rear wing. (whatthe's car.)

TRD rear splitters, TRD side skirts, TRD rear wing. (an02's car)

Two coupes with the TRD rear wing. (anabolik and another random 6gc.)

Also, I notice you are in Naples. There is a member local to you there. He posts quite a bit on this forum. His screen name is SwissFerdi. You might send him a PM.

hey richee i appreciate the help. so where do you think i can find these 94,95 splitters

Get the TRD wing for the coupe, it looks sexy!
As for the front end either upgrade to a 96+ Bumper to use the splitters or get a GT-4 hood and bumper
[/quote

what does it take to put the 96+ bumber. conversion of any sort ?

Welcome to the forum man!

You have a choice of a few side skirts. There's the OEM '96+ ones, that I have, and there's also the 404 skirts. Presure2 has the 404 ones if you haven't already seen them. There are other aftermarket side skirts that you can get off of ebay, but they will probably require some fitment.

For the rear, there's the SS-III splitters (I'm selling mine actually) and the TRD splitters. I think there's a full wrap around, but don't quote me on that.

As for the front, there's the SS-III splitters for the 96+ bumper. If you're going with the GT4 bumper, there's a few lips, but I don't know much about them yet. I bet another member will be able to answer that for you smile.gif

Hope that somewhat helps! biggrin.gif

thanks some help is alot of help for me right now. Appriciate it

I look at my car and the pic of your car and the front bumber isn't the same. will this be a problem ?
also my car isn't a hatch. what nice wing/spoiler would you suggest or can fit my ride
and thanks for the info man I appriciate the advice

Hey there forum. Well guys to be honest I'm mad jealous of the half the celicas I see here and envy the work and time you guys put into the celicas.
My main concern is what can I do to my celica. I think the gt4 bumber is awesome but I dont know what it would take to put it on my celica.
Well to get straight to my question, What lip or lip extensions can I put on my front, rear, and side skirts to give my car the simple but touch celica jdm look.
I have pics of my ride on my profile to show the base model it is.
Thanks guys

Hey there forum, I just recently got an 94 ST and heard this is the best place to have your 6gen celica questions answered.
Well to start off, Im dying to get my celica tuned and I know I wont get no where with the 7afe I got.
And I know everybody talks about the 3sgte and what not, but everybody knows thats alot of money and alot of converions.
So I was wondering(and I ask because I heard of many people that have it)what it would take to swap in a 4age/4agze into my 94 celica. I know mechanics so hit me with all the info you can give me. Also what tranny should I get.
If anybody has any better suggestions on swaps or mods I appreciate the info.
