2 year old bump!

As the previous owner of the car I gotta say its nice to see her in decent condition.

I butchered her and was just starting to get her back on track when I woke up with an SUV on my hood going down the freeway.

Nice to see her come back to life.

Dude.. From what I hear San Diego is a national disaster area, so I highly doubt I would be driving down there to add more visitors to the mess, unless I can be of service and help some people out.

With that said i doubt there will be any fire activity come the weekend, near chino hills.

so anyway I might show up with the z or the celica.

It really depends on if I get a coat of paint down on the celica.
and yea, i try and come out to the chino meets.

and i know that we need to represent the 6th gens.

ok well wish me luck with getting my celica back on the road.

umm 2nd PB Blaster.. if worse comes to worse grind off the bolts like he said. you may also want to consider replacing your gasgets, and definatly replace your exhaust manifold gasket.

so.. one person says 16 valve is easier, another says its harder 20v is easier, then another says its harder... errrr?

so the 16v bolts right up to the tranny. and the engine mounts. I would already need custom headers, some re wiring and redoing a few hoses...

actaully im lost.

My buddy is getting rid of a 16v in good condition. hes gonna sell it to me for $100 so I figure why not i might as well.

yea or ne?

you need to pull out the old spark plug gaskets and clean out the hole then put the new ones in. I haven't found an easy way to put them back so be patient and work them in enough then bolt down the valve cover.

also when bolting down your going to what to do a cross bolt pattern when you tighten the bottom left a little ways, then the top right, then top left, then bottom right, and keep doing that till its tightened down to torque specs.

I see you haven't replied yet. so I would check your reservoir bucket and make sure nothing is leaking from there. and also double check the tightness of all your clamps. Sometimes sitting for a while with no use then starting can make them a little loose.. so yea let us know what you found yea?

I hate raising topics from the dead.. but..

umm yea, I broke the fuel line with the bolt still connected to the fuel filter, and its still stripped shut to the old fuel filter.

so. do I replace the whole line or get a differnt kind of fuel filter. Like the one I use for my z is extremely easy and uses clamps versus all these nuts and bolts

So ive had my celi for a long time. And since the past few years its been burning oil. I dont drive it that often cause I have another car. However that cars registration is up and I dont have the money to re register it.

So heres what happening. On startup a huge plume of oil come out then no more smoke. and only on cold starts when its been sitting. I took off the valve cover today because im changing the gasket due to another leak. I also removed the spark plugs and they had oil on the threads, I looked in with a flash light and the pistons were coated with oil and other residue.

so Ive been doing allot of maintenance to cars lately mainly my other car a 91 300zx which is a huge PITA. so im thinking valve seals/piston rings? and Ive never done piston rings but If I spend more than $600 its not worth the money I can just get a used engine. I would be doing all the repairs myself. just need some guidance on what to do.. anyone have any suggestions?

i think im gonna keep it as a toy to work on. i mean its pretty much the same engine as a 165 just overheats easily. and thorottle bodys a bit smaller. all of that can be fixed.

yea the 300 is allot of fun! but its very expensive. i mean im thinkin of leaving the engine up on a stand im a small corner of my room and build it up over the year. here in there.. and possibly looking at putting a supra rear end with a custom drive shaft. ive seen supras with 3sgte's so im sure theres soem tranny that will bolt up. it can be done butt i dont have a garage so i dont want to get to crazy. dont flame me im just thinking outside of the box.. we all know fwd isnt as fun as rwd or awd. plus ive been on these forums longer than most people so respect your elders.

Ok ive been on this site for years.. and ive learned a ****load about cars ive had my 300zx for a year or 2 now and im ready for soemthing thats gonna blow people away. ok so rwd kicks ass i hardly drive the celica cause of this fact. so why not convert it.....i was thinking of a rear clip of an 89 supra but the drive shaft needs to bolt into something. i dont know what drive shaft can bolt up to the 3sgte (thats the engine im swaping in) or a 4age.. then i thought why not use a hachi rear clip but i bleive the drive shaft would be to short..

so without flaming me can you tell me what if any driveshafts would fit into a 3sgte or 4age thats about the length of the celica.. i mean yea its going to be a **** load of work and even more money but when its doen it would be an amazing machine. a stiff light chassis with powerful rear wheel drive action..
