If you want a Toyota part, you'll have to source it out of the U.S. or get it from someone with extra SSS parts it looks like. http://www.toyodiy.com/parts/xref?s=90179-...mJ=on&mG=on |

Are you still parting this car out? There are a few bits I would like to scavenge and could drive out to pull them (I'm in Syracuse, NY). |

I would suggest comparing the part numbers on the Toyota DIY parts database. You can also take part numbers to cross-reference for the same part on a different car. (Like the caliper bolts on my ST205 brakes are also a t-case bolt from a USDM Rav-4...). 1995 Japan 1997 Japan Most of the part numbers seem to be the same based on a cursory glance, but you should verify... |

I'm looking to organize a meet in the Upstate New York area. I'm in Syracuse, but would like to get as many members together on fun roads before the snow falls, so I'm open to ideas. I'm open to suggestions on locations and times. Let's get our cars out one more time before the salty death of the New York winter embraces us... (Posted on alltrac.net as well) |

When my clutch went out, a spring escaped. But the fact that your car doesn't recognize that the clutch pedal is depressed (for starting) makes it sound like something other than the clutch disk. Hopefully this didn't happen: https://plus.google.com/photos/112486018851...487661670094129 |

Looks like a straight shot down 81 for me, 4 hours from Syracuse. I'm interested, but have to check my schedule for that weekend. |

Thanks for the info. When is the Delaware water gap meet? I've been debating putting a high flow cat on the car when I replace my muffler. It sounds like a 3000lb bumble bee on the freeway, which gets annoying after a while, although full throttle sounds amazing. The other question is whether they would inspect the fuel cell, especially since it smells like gas. I'm going to go to the shop that built it to see if installing hard lines would take care of it (rubber fuel lines as of now). |

I daily drive my 3SGTE and average around 20 MPG with my boost set to around 10 PSI (.75 bar). It's 30 miles each way with about 4 miles of lights and the rest freeway. If I turn the boost up to 14 PSI (1 bar), my mileage drops to the 12 to 15 range for the same commute. The car is AWD though, so there may be some gains on mileage from running FWD. As far as downtime... It's been in the shop for a week waiting on a water pump. The last extended downtime was for a clutch and those bastards took 5 months (extenuating circumstances, but still), lesson learned, I'll use the dealership from now on. |

I'm moving to Syracuse, NY this summer for school and was wondering if anyone near there has some information on what the emissions and safety requirements are in the area. I'm mostly concerned with visual inspection on the 3rd Gen 3SGTE and emissions requirements (no catalytic converter). I'd also like to get in touch with other members in the area, I saw several in Rochester and a few others scattered around on the member map. |

Looks like quite a project, engine looks beautiful. It's been a while since I've been active here, but before you get everything put together, you may want to reconsider that SPEC clutch. The tabs holding the springs in failed on mine and one of the springs got lodged between the disk and the fly wheel (after bouncing around a bit). I'm not certain if the cracks in the clutch are post failure or if they contributed to it. I've heard from a number of people that they have had similar issues. I switched to ACT and haven't had any problems. I usually run around 10 pounds of boost for daily driving and have a full AWD setup, so there's a fair bit of stress on the components. Here's a link to the Google album with pictures of the clutch that failed. Spec Clutch Photo Album |

It was probably in the 3k to 5k range when it blew up. It was in the car when I bought it last year, so it's hard to tell. |

Just figured I would share my pain with all of you. Dropping an engine to change a POS clutch is not a fun or cheap thing to do... http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/BEl5V...feat=directlink http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/z4dV6...feat=directlink http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/HO3QW...feat=directlink http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/qwBrN...feat=directlink |

I'll take them. PM me a price with shipping to 84107. i saw this and was going to PM you! looks like you already jumped on them Well it's first come first serve, I could really use whatever cash asap. I am going to assume shipping, pending on where you are through UPS might be roughly $40-60, as I am using knowledge from eBay when I ordered my leather rears, which are like 2x more heavy than the rear seats... Maybe even more. Unless they cut a discount on shipping charges, but I am going to guess and say about that much. Once I get a good offer, I can go and measure and weigh, then get a more accurate invoice for shipping. I have never used FedEx or UPS myself, but I can check with them. I think they may be too big for USPS. I dunno. Thanks for looking out for me Kostas. |
