i was just looking through the buying/selling forum and i thought that maybe we could have a separate dorum for buying and another for selling, that way buyers can look at FS and sellers can look at WTB and not all together. it makes you think you found it but you actually didnt. just my opinion, i know that you have worked on the site for a long time Coomer so maybe in the future or something

The plastic part of my antenna shaft broke off, now if i put up the antenna the only way to get it down is to push it when the gear is moving. I only the the shaft part of it, the extending antenna part.

QUOTE(snapshotgt @ Nov 1, 2005 - 11:34 AM)

I have never had this problem, but wanted to do something to make my trunk/boot look rockin? . . . and sound proof!

here's how:

-I went to homedepot and got some carpet padding, and carpet?.then took the rug out and traced it on a piece of maysinite (sp?).
-then cut the wood-
-then sprayed adhesive on the back of the board, and stuck the carpet padding on.
-then stapled the carpet over the padding (all of this is on the bottom)
-then i custom cut several blocks of wood, and caulk (regular bathroom cluck)(sounds scary, but i did not want to use liquid nails or anything like that because if in the if future i wanted to remove it...well you know...)

also the blocks of wood were cut so when the seat were down, the whole back would be level!

HOPE THE HELPS YOU OUT! biggrin.gif

Do you think it is a good quality alarm and will all the functions work w/celi, like a/c control? it has a proximity remote which unlocks the doors which i thought was cool. tell me what you think. These are clickable thumbnails if you expand the pic after you can see them up close and read what they say.

the only thing that rattles in my car (i did a bunch of soundproofing with rubber-foam) is the liftback shock (the piece where the licence plate goes), and actually under the trunk, as in outside the car.  And i can't find it.  Probably a mount for the gas tank or something.  Next time you guys have your subs going, get under the rear of your car and see if you have the same problem

that is exactly what my car does and i looked everywhere for it i even took the pieces off out there and i couldnt find it errrrr.

I had the whole damn thing apart just to screw things down, and the bumper off, i still couldn't find it. I did find however, a lot of the outside rattleing is coming from one of my licence plate lights. There are two, and the right one is being held in place, but the left one, i can move with my fingers (like the bracket holding the light), and when i push on it, almost 90% of rattling from my car goes away.

yeah i put a piece of cardboard under the left light as mine was also loose and i only found out that wasnt it. and i don't think its the spare tire cover because my box is bolted down to it and i can put my ear right up to it on the outside and hear it but never find it. when the hatch is open it all dissapears.

i dont get why you guys get so good gas mileage. is keeping the rpms as low as possible not the best way, ie 35mph in 5th at like 2300rpm?

i was wondering what rpms you guys shift at, and what rpms you cruise at to get the best mpg and what mpg do you get. i get from 19-21 average, i dont always drive like a grandma though.

i get snow here and i know you can drive over it but there a point where you cant and ive been in cars that have gotten stuck and it sucks. i snowboard a lot and have gotten stuck on that road up to the mountain, (Bogus Basin), not in my car though. that question was more rhetorical than anything

why is this doing this? and how do i fix it, ive played with the throttle cable at throttle body w/no luck. and also i know this has been asked before but my car puts out a puff of blue smoke when i start it after it sits for a couple hours. could this be oil setting inside the cyl. settling after a couple hours and if so could it be a piston ring leak confused.gif
