I'm selling my 1995 Celica GT

It's Anthracite Grey Metallic with 105k mi.

Manual transmission
power windows, moonroof, central lock, etc smile.gif

Ever since I bought it, I've had the following done:

Timing chain (Toyota dealer)

Mobil 1 0w-30 synthetic and Bosch filter

Radiator flush and refilled (Toyota dealer)

brakes checked out
parking brakes adjusted

new OEM windshield and trim around it

4 Snow tires and Toyota OEM steel wheels with Toyota Camry 15" wheel covers
The tires are Bridgestone Blizzak WS-50s bought from TireRack

Pioneer Head Unit with CD player and I will provide the stock Headunit (double din with CD PLayer) - I installed the Pioneer HU using a wire harness so you can easily install the original radio back.

New wiper blades

The car runs really well and as you know these things are really fun to drive wink.gif

Problems:

Driver's side headlight has some water in it
ABS light is on
Rear Wiper motor is dead but is now taken off so the front wipers work fine

Cosmetic imperfections:
misc. dings and scratches (it's not a beauty queen - but I'm a perfectionist)

dent in the passenger side quarter panel at the front near the side marker light

paint isn't that great near the front bumper area.

I'm asking for US$6,000 - If you'd like to negotiate please send me an email
holsonyap@rcn.com

Car can be seen near the BU (Allston/Brookline) area.

Thank you,

hhhmm

My Celica has 110k mi. on it (almost)

it needs:

2 ABS sensors
a rear wiper motor

other problems:

rattles in the rear suspension area
rattles in the doors
creaking sounds in the dash
groaning when the car goes over speed bumps from the front suspension
squealing!!! front brakes
noisy emergency brake (but effective)
engine leaks oil and drips on the ground :-p
3rd gear syncro is pretty bad...
driver's side high beam is letting water in

that's it though... and Im being VERY picky and I drive it HARD!

BUT! I get:

a sporty looking car (lots of people think it looks cool tongue.gif )
sporty feel
nice interior feel with good quality materials
nice transmission (except for 3rd gear)
nice steering
good handling
cool sounding exhaust biggrin.gif makes me feel like im driving a car faster than it really is hehe

I kind of don't care. I think it's plenty fast in the city. It lacks the torque off the line but once it moves it's fine. It also sounds very trashy when the 5SFE is singing its upper registers and runs out of power.

But I agree, it's a good looking car and I don't really race people..

I was doing probably 65 in a 45 (It was a 4/5 lane road that splits up and I didn't think the speed limit was 45 - stupid me). I was in a hurry and it was so not worth the ticket. The road was empty too and there was the temptation to punch it from 0mph and I did...

The cop was really professional though, very polite, and gave me a 50 in a 45. It was allright I guess.

I've browsed HID-forums and the conclusion is that mcculloch's HID kits are not that great because they rely on the car's stock wiring instead of a relay. I've decided to not go the HID way...

I get really annoyed at people who put crappy HID conversions in their cars... tongue.gif so I would rather not do it cheap.. I guess if I really wanted to I'll buy a projector from a Benz or something and put it in the headlight.

Yeah, something right behind my door panel rattles too. I can stop it by pushing the plastic trim piece against the door from the inside .

I don't know if it's because of the 9005 bulbs. I've noticed that the beam pattern is still the same but it's fuzzier than it is with 9006 bulbs. I'm gonna put the Philips Premium +30% back in there.

Honestly, I don't think anything less than a Turbo/Supercharger is worth purchasing when it comes to modifying an engine. It's after the turbo that I'd do the other things.

same with body mods.. wheels first.

only 105k mi. smile.gif Toyotas never cease to amaze me. The best $5k i've ever spent.

The Benz is a low miler wink.gif at 88k mi.

My old car had 200k mi. on its original motor, automatic transmission, and rear end. The body started rusting first smile.gif BTW, it was a Mercedes turbo diesel. oh.. original turbo too. I guess maintenance is everything on cars.

bump!

the ABS sensors cost $196 each from the dealer... frown.gif they have to wait I guess. Unless I can find good used ones or get a good deal on them.

It'd be nice to have ABS to help the Celica's already marginal braking.

After reading HID-forums, im not sure that I want to put in those rebased D2R capsules into my USDM reflectors.

These USDM reflectors are horrible. Fuzzy cutoff, barely any light to the sides...don't even want to imagine them with HIDs in them.

What kind of headlights do Euro 6GC's come with? E-Codes?

Has anyone done an HID conversion to their Celica? If you have, which kit did you use and how does the beam pattern look?

I have bought so many different 9006 bulbs for my car...

Sylvania Silverstars
Sylvania CoolBlue
Sylvania standard 9006
Philips Premium +30 9006
modified 9005s

the brightest are either the Philips Premium or the modified 9005s. The silverstars that I currently have in there suck....

im thinking of going for HIDs now... the Celica is in need of some good lighting

allright I'm putting 87 in the Celica next time.

I put 93/94 in the E420 but I guess that 11:1 V8 really needs it. However, when I read the Celica's owners manual, it says that 91+ will improve performance and is recommended... so I've always put 93 in the Celica (the only 91+ available)
