You are runnig custom wiseco pistons tho? Because I've read your parts List on your profile. My new engine will be build with the wisecos because it's intended to have quite a bit more than 250hp ![]() How much Does it cost to have wiseco make custom pistons for the 7a? |

The 7A pistons are pretty strong, there must be severe detonation to kill them ![]() I was boosting 8-11psi on the racetrack for two years and up to 13psi with my street setup without any piston problems. With a good and safe tuning the engine should have no problems with up to 250bhp. You are runnig custom wiseco pistons tho? Because I've read your parts List on your profile. |

On 8lbs of boost how long will the motor last? Because I was reading a post of a guy with a corrola with the 7a and he had a turbo kit but his motor only lasted about 6 months befor the ringlands practically dissapered. |

As many of you know I'm going to turbo the 7A. ![]() So first things first, with the help of Garrett's Turbo Tech 103 (Expert), I did the compressor flow map calculations... try to follow along, if you have any questions just ask... here are the EQUATIONS: ![]() and the CALCULATIONS (for a 7AFE with a target of 200hp at the flywheel): ![]() then you need to plot some numbers on the COMPRESSOR FLOW MAP of your choice I got a small Garrett 2052 which should be enough for my goals ![]() From just looking at different compressor flow maps you'll learn a lot. In general, the closer the turbine and exhaust housing sizes the wider your power range will be but the maximum boost level is limited. When the sizes are significantly different you'll notice the compressor map will look taller and thinner, that gives you a smaller RPM range you can boost in but you can achieve higher boost levels in that range. What kind of engine internals are you runnig? |
