Not just my inspiration but after seeing this I have decided to get the new IS and try to customise it like that. Please post some more details about that IS or any other IS with exterior mods. |

I do not think many countries would be able to top Cyprus. Price of petrol just increase. 0,58 Cyprus pounds per liter. By my calculations that's just above US$6 per gallon. |

The argument with Toyota techs is getting out of hand. Just tocalm things down you are both right. You have to consider that there are too many variables here. Firstly, not all Toyota are the same. So you cannot assume that if something works right on a coroll in the U.S. it will work the same on a GT4 i Australia. Then you have temperatures and fuel quality and a number of other issues to think about. Well it seems that the only clean result is that you cannot go wrong with NGK. |

You dont want to know. Well, I really cant believe how P5ycho can get 420 miles to a tank (max 68 ltrs) unless is only highway and without boosting. At 1.1bar, we are talking about excellent mapping also. The issue is that when you have such a car is very difficult to have your mind on mpg as you continuously feel the need to boost. |

My Curren failed emmissions in Cyprus a couple of years ago. The reason was that it needed a tune up as the previous one was years before that. I drove it a bit hard for 20 minutes so that the injectors and fuel system got cleaner and then it passed just fine. From then on I take it to my mechanics for a tune up and they deal with it. |

I believe that Toyota controls Fuji which is Subarus' parent company. I am so tired and pissed off with Toyota because they really not trying to go the extra mile (in both design and performance) and they seem to focus their attention on other things like literacy programs and other lobbying things to promote the brand. For Christ sake, BUILD SOMETHING FUN for us. |

Who told you that I do not have as much money? I am just saying that I am not that impressed. Yes 205 is a very big number. I just prefer to have an ST in front of it (hint:ST - 205) he he. Just standing next to Tufy's car a few months ago while it was dynoed was an experience 10 times more fun than watching that. |

This I found some time ago. The Car You Drive… Alfa Passionate and romantic, you fancy yourself. A bit unreliable, and can be eccentric too. You hate BMW drivers, but think and act just like them. Audi You would like to believe you are part of the new generation that is caring, environmentally conscious and family-orientated. Actually quite boring; nothing more than a glorified wuss. Will one day probably drive a Merc, but you still sometimes wonder if you shouldn't have bought that Bee-Em. BMW Self-centred, ambitious, dynamic and assertive. Can be a big show-off pig. Likes impressing too. Buppies and kugels past sell-by date. You think you will be CEO one day. Actually an office weenie who thinks you are God's gift. Daewoo Faceless, subservient and demure (except for Matiz drivers). To you, a good deal is to work from nine to five, get nothing for it, and still say thank you. And then you wonder why you don't have money for a time after hours. Fiat Cute self-confident girls climbing the corporate ladder with ball-breaking as their hidden agenda. Will take everything you own if she divorces you. Ford You still live in the 70's, trying to cope with the 90's (don't even mention the millennium). A loyal, diligent worker, but baffled by office politics and labour policies. Next car will probably also be a Ford. Honda You aspire to drive a BMW. You are an opinionated pain-in-the-butt. The ultimate suffragette, or the boss's girlfriend (male or female!). Isuzu You like the smell of diesel and have secret fantasy of being a truck driver. Hyundai /Kia Quite progressive, intelligent and practical. But misguided. The kind of person who will suggest a sub-committee to find solutions to what the committee couldn't. You will always maintain that a Korean car is better than any Japanese model. Jeep You would like to believe you are living the American dream and just love the great outdoors. The closest you get to it is by watching Days of Our Lives and the Adventure Channel. Land Rover You are a designer person with a designer life, who always pays too much for everything. Designer mud comes free with the badge. You're a closet colonial racist and have fantasies about the Queen. If you have a Freelander, it was probably a break-up gift from your ex. Mazda A Ford driver with less money. Mostly staid boring with no image and less imagination. Lots of retired people drive Mazdas. You're in the way and should get off the road. Mercedes-Benz Responsible, immaculate and conservative. Boring CEO clones with too much money, or the office super-geek who can't remember what it's like to have fun. Definitely not dating material. Nissan Good, solid, responsible, loyal office-fodder. You like to travel and maintain that you can sell ice to the Eskimos. Favourite answer: "It's a company car." Opel Wannabe Schumachers. Would like a VW, but fell for the bumf about German engineering. Always in a rush, but never get anything done. Kicks BMW 3 series butts because they can. Spend all their money on trying to keep it going. Pajero Not as label-conscious as your Land Rover counterpart, but still suckered into believing in the ultimate Paris-to-Dakar, African adventure. You drive through puddles to create your own designer mud. You believe you've made the grade, but everyone else knows you've got a long way to go. Peugeot Thinks France is the best country in the world and bores everybody with your limited French knowledge and tales of the Louvre and the Sourbonne. “But Mademoiselle! Ze c’not doo zat ‘ere!!!!!” Porsche Smalldick Renault An eccentric who likes doing things the wrong way around. Usually the one who asks all the silly questions at staff meetings. You fervently believe you have flair, but it's less than that of a French cookbook. Most probably gay. Ssangyong A make-believe fool, because you'd like a Pajero but can't afford it. Don't actually know that the engines are made in India and not in Germany Toyota Although there are thousands of them, you mostly can’t spot them in their zero-image cars. Toyotas are good, reliable cars and are bought by a wide variety of people who have zero personality to go with their cars and are basically chicken-**** scared people who will never take chances and will therefore be driving Toyotas forever. The most zero-image car in the world?, ... a white Corolla Volkswagen Highly overrated for dependability cars since the days of the Beetle, but they do have a good re-sale value. Usually practical, sensible people who like to drive fast where nobody can see them. They are usually loyal to their brand to the point of irritation due to the fact that they lost their virginity on a Beetle's back seat. Volvo As square and safe as the car BTW - 1998 GT4 name "quicksilver" |

Shaming suped up Type Rs is my daily treat. But I am referring to an original JDM GT4 and not a swap. I would think that other the traction issues, a swap correctly made would have absolutely no problem killing off a Type R of whatever age unless its boosting something like 7-8 PSi and not the 14s the original GT4 is boosting. |

Seen the new RS4 yesterday. Yeap, its a nice one. I'd rather keep my Curren and the GT4 though and wait for the day Toyota wakes up and put something like that in the market i.e. IS-F |

2 comments really: 1. 205 mph? so what? i spent 4 minutes of my time seeing a guy with too much money just trying to catch up another rich guy in front of him on a straight road. Where's the fun in that? who cares? 2. It is really embarrassing to have an M6 and needing a large monitor to tell you what gear you are in. I would prefer they were spending their money in something else like making a car less costly, less polluting, more reliable etc. |

Its probably your injectors. When I had the same problem with my Curren, they told me that I should have my mechanic take them out and clean them or just drive the car hard for a few minutes and take the car back, Guess what I did. Well I drove the curren really hard for about half an hour and when I took it back for testing it almost show zero CO2. Do not be tricked with additives and bull**** like that. They say this to sell you stuff which do not make that much of a difference. |

Just saw this on Ford and I thought it would be nice to have a sticker. It says "2 Slow , 2 Furious" or Too slow, too furious for anyone that did not get it the first time. Trying to catch up with any kind of car that was built completely differently is always a no-no. The reason is that you try to "follow the leader" but the car in front of you reacts differently to different circumastances. Therefore, for example the car in front may be able to take a turn at 50 but your car may go off the road at 35 on the same turn. |

"Corolla: Toyota has delayed the redesign for the United States by one year until spring 2008. A Toyota official blames this on engineering resources being stretched too thin. But sources say the original design and packaging were too plain compared to the Mazda3 and the Honda Civic; it was sent back to the drawing board." My point exactly. |

Why be in F1 if they do not want to have a sports car or be in that market anyway? Why are they so keen on the sporty look and performance of the lexus and try to attack the BMWs. How difficult would it be to offer a coupe IS or GS? Why do they offer a sport package for Prius now? No Company ever made money from sports cars. Not Ferreari (now FIAT) not Porche (now VW) not Jaguar (now ford) etc. The sports cars are more an R&D thing and also a way of promotion. Will BMW make money on the M6. I dont think so. And What about Subaru. The majority of their cars is sports cars. And Mitsubishi, their high selling items are the Montero/Pajero with the a history of winning in Paris/Dakar Rally and the Lancers (EVO anyone) And what about Nissan. Their latest models are all crap. They have made though the Z and survive. In my opinion, Toyota has replaced its image making activities from the making of sports car to sponsoring tennis and track events for promotion and there may be a time in the near future when Toyos become cars with no identity. As long as the Europeans and Americans cannot make dependable cars due to shortcommings in Electronics Toyota will have no problems. But what will happen when they catch up? And dont forget the competion from the Chinese and korean manufactures. There will be a time when quality will not be an issue. I know for sure that in Greece Hyunday and Scoda (Cheh subsidiary of VW) is making extraordinary high sales as the price is attractive and the started not having serious issues with quality. And they have excellent service for when such troubles arise. Being in the Financial analysis business for quite some time I have only one thing to tell you. The bigger they are, the harder they fall. Toyota consider your self warned. |

What a pile of bull. I am 30 and i have a curren and a bit ricy GT4. But my father who is 58 is one of the biggest ricers I know. He has two much time on his hands and is always trying to to stuff to just about anything he gets his hands on. I had a green canvas Montero jeep and he put a black top, blacked out the glasses, put 6 more speakers in the back, black lines on the sides of the car, extra lights , 3 additional horns, the horn of a theft security system, wider rims and wheels, plastic widening fender kits for the wider wheels, a huge untenna in the back (like the ones the put on off road buggies with flags) two tone plastic leather seeats, extra cup holders and the list goes on and on. Heck when he washes the car he paints the rubber on the wheels with shoe polish. |

ok. I bought the magazine and read throughthe article. It has plenty of info on specs and mods and some other general info. Hey Ismet, I think it would be very interesting to give a price list of everything you have spent so far. Just for everybody to really understand how much money it took which it probably is twice as it would be required if you would do this in the states or the uk. |
