well i figured it out. it is a bad wheel bearing... but on the passenger side! its so weird that the noise happens when you turn right and the weight should be off it, but w/e. i jacked it up and the passenger side front wheel had alllll types of play. so im getting a new wheel bearing tomorrow, it sucks they have to be pressed in so i cant do it myself, so im dropping it off at my buddies shop and gonna have him do it. ill let you guys know how it turns out!

i was kinda thinking that but could it still be that if it goes away when the clutch is pressed in? and is their a way to test it without just replacing it?

Theirs a new strange noise coming from my girls Celica. I just put on new tenzo R springs today and KYB shocks and it looks and feels great. but now it looks like ill have a new project soon. she says its been doing it for a little while so its nothing caused by the new suspension. Its kind of a grinding noise but doest sound like metal on metal or anything. almost sounds like a bad bearing. Coming from the front end. It mostly does it when your turning right and going from a stop, it continues as you accelerate but sounds like it may quiet up a bit once you go over 45mph, but it could just be the wind noise that causes me not to hear it anymore. And when i put the clutch in the sound stops. So i was thinking maybe throw out bearing? but hears the weird part... going from a stop while making a right you hear it pretty loud, but if you go from a stop when your turning left you dont hear it at all. Any ideas guys??

QUOTE (stephen_lee @ Jul 30, 2011 - 8:35 PM) *
as for springs u can get some tien or eichbach springs from ebay.
KYB GR-2 are stock replacements that can handle being lowered 1.5"

modding a celica with an idea of getting extra power isnt cheap

also u can try the ebay headers to get a little more pep.

u can also advance your ignition timing to 15* BTC to gain ~5-8HP only if u can afford atleast midgrade gas

ok. i was looking at lowering springs yesterday and found a set for about 200 and found shocks for about 140 for front and 140 for rear. and i think those were the KYB's. and as for adjusting the timing, how would i go about doing that?

hey guys. Well me and my girlfriend need some help finding parts for future mods on her 94 GT'. its kind of a beater, like the body is pretty beat but it runs great and interior is good. We just re-did the exhaust. I got a cheap 4"outlet muffler off of ebay and me and my buddy made a custom exhaust. ran it catless with a resonator in the mid-pipe. looks and sounds excellent. And sounds even better now cuz just a few days ago we put a ebay intake on it. As you can tell we dont want to put a whole lot of money into it. Its kinda a budget build. But next mods we wanna do are some lowering springs and new shocks all around. im pretty sure the front ones are shot cuz they clunk when hittting decent sized bumps. So where can i get a decently cheap set of lowering springs and shocks? Also im not sure if this is even possible or not... but in my car "92' 3000GT VR4" i have a WOTBOX 2 step with no lift to shift feature as well. She wants to put one of these units in her car but not sure if anyone has done it on a NA. Has anyone done this? and how did you guys hook it up? We will greatly appreciate any advice or guidance. thanks!

ok so anything i would need to do the swap I could get ahold of? im guessing its a somewhat common swap for people to do. I just know that my friends MR2 pretty much just has basic bolt ons and a ct20b turbo at 18psi and that thing rips! i think it would be a nasty sleeper in the celica

Ok so a few months ago I trade my winter beater truck for a 94' Celica GT. needs bodywork but runs great. Has over 200k on body but only 100k on 2.2L engine and 5 speed trans. So i gave this car to my girl and we have been toying with the idea of making it fast. My idea is that my buddy has a 91' MR2 turbo that has a 3SGTE engine in it. and when he got it, he was given an extra 3SGTE block. so i was thinking of maybe buildng that up and maybe putting that into the celica with a turbo (probly a CT20b or something). my question is. how easy are these engine to mount into the celica and get working? can i use the stock trans? and what kind of ecu or tuning software will i need?? Or should i just throw a turbo on the stock 2.2L motor? I basically just want some advice cuz these cars are a little new for me. Im a expert in the 3s field ;-)

ok guys i recently just traded my winter beater 89' Isuzu Trooper for a 94' celica. i took my almost new headunit and system out of the trooper and wired it all up in the celica. its a pretty much brand new jvc headunit and my system is a 12" kicker comp with a 1200 watt amp that kinda sucks but it still sounds great haha. everything worked great in the trooper and works great in the celica. im using all the same wiring etc. but im having kinda a weird problem. one day whil driving the sub cut out. so i opened the hatch to check out the amp... the amp was on. hmmmm checked all wires and everything was good. decided to pull the headunit out to check the wires in back of it and the rca cables. they were all fine. i put everything back together and it works! eventho i didnt do anything to it. a few days go by and it happens again. amp is on but sub isnt hitting again. pull the headunit again, fiddle with it and put it back together and it works again! WTF! so today im driving and it cuts out again. i discovered this time that if i push the dash trim like right next to the headunit then the sub will come back on. i just pulled the headunit again and made sure the ground was ok and everything looks ok.... what could be the problem? idk y if i fiddle with the headunit it will come back on... any ideas?

Hey guys, i have been in the car game for a while. I have a 92' VR4 with many mods but i just traded my 89 Trooper winter beater for a 94' Celica GT. has 200k+ on the body but only about 100k on engine and trans but it runs great! has some body damage and needs paint but its not bad. only real problem it has is a slight power steering leak and it has a CEL. i did a diagnostic on it today and came up with 2 codes. 24 and 41. i believe they are for intake air temp sensor signal and TPS signal. im gonna investigate them later today but was wondering if their are any free mods you can do to these things? only mod is a exhaust. looks like a cheap ebay exhaust but suprisingly sounds decent.
