Srry, me again, I just need to figure this thing out since the St is my daily driver. Well, i found 2 engines, one is a silver top 4age(160hp) and another 7afe(115hp), mileage isn't stated on neither of them, but they are from JDM engine depot.com, what do u think? |

Tnx. Yea but do know where i can get the JDM engine with guarantied low miles. Because i looked around and found a couple and they where remanufactured and asked about 1100$ just for the engine, but gave a year warranty on it. Yea the 5fse is a lot of work thats why i just dropped that idea after making a little research on the swap. The 4age 20V...hmm... dont really know about the swap but i know that that thing is a 1.6L and gives about 160hp, right. But i heard that there are a bunch on mods for it. But can it be just dropped into the st with no major modifications made??? |

Hello ppl, the other day i was driving on the freeway and my st started loosing power and as soon as i hit the clutch it just died. Had to get it towed back home with out knowing what the problem was, after it cooled down a bit it started up but had a very loud knocking noise. Later i took it to a garage and they told me that i busted the crankshaft and that I'll need to buy another engine. What do u guys thing about this? I mean i would drop another 7afe in it but it would cost around 900-1000$ if the car would at least have a good paint job and look descent , but it doesn,t. So uma b lookin at 1000$ for the engine and about 600$ for a paint job, IS IT WORTH IT??? Just tell me what u guys think, all comments are welcome. Though about putting a 5fse but is really not worth it either, too much $$$ for 25hp gain. TNX |

wrapping will also help a lot if u have a ram air intake on your celica, since it will drop the temp of the air in the engine bay. |

Well depending on how much u are trying to spend i`d say force induction, or Spraying the hell outta it(NO2). For the no2 u`ll just need a 50-75 shot kit and a bigger fuel pump so u dont run lean. |

Yup, i just did it about a month ago before going synthetic on my baby. All i did was pour the engine flush and run it for 5-7 min. and change the oil. I dont think its of any risk. Um not sure but u can also seafoam it, but dont take my word for it, RESEARCH! |

If um not mistaken u can just buy it in auto zone and do it your self. All the steps are given, i did it on my 88 rx7. U just have to run in for a while and disconnect the bottom hose from the radiator. After all the coolant is out, put the hose back fill it up, leave it open and start the engine, that way all the air will go out. And then put for coolant if needed. |

Hmm.... how did u end up with only 1/4th in the first place, try checking for leaks. But as u said if the oil levels are ok now and the light is still on it might just be a defective sensor, lets hope it is. I have the same thing, but mine is with the check engine light. I think it might be the ram air intake i put, it might be miss reading the air flow. Just take your time and try to observe whats wrong with it. |

I can add that we have tried some electrical fan's and then Dyno the car. There was a small gain at low rpm's. But as soon at the engien gained Rpm's the fan could not keep up. So you lost some effect at the top. As the fan became a barrier insted. Tho there was some gain in old disel engien whit no turbo. Would i spend money on it? NO would agreed whit the rest here. its only SCAM. Yup, what u said makes a lot of sense, since the rise in rpms will probably create a higher airflow by its self, than what the fan has to offer. |

Hmm.... sounds a bit weird, but as u said if it disappeared after u played with the suspension, i guess u found the problem already. Just try to take a good look at it and find if there`s anything broken or so. |

Hey guys im new here. Came over from celispeed.com and like this site alot better so far. So basically i was wanting to turbo my 95 gt and came across this kit on ebay: 5SFE Turbo Kit. Seeing how i dont know too much about FI i figured i would ask you guys what for some input. If i got the kit id still get injectors, larger fuel pump, and the 3sgte manifold and downpipe. but could this kit work? thanks for any help guys. Of course its gonna work! If $$$ isnt a problem. Depending on how much boost u are going to put on it u might need to get some new pistoin rods too. |

I found this vortex 5psi electric supercharger online, I really don't know if its worth spending money on(200$)? Anyways i did a bit of research on it and it seems that it will be draining the battery or so. Anyhoo, has anybody ever got it around here??? Pls reply even if its just an opinion. TNX guys, guess i`ll just stick with the normal air intake. |

Here's a thread to post whatever you've done to your car today, big or small, there's always something to do, but not always big enough for it's own thread Should be a good history of the work everyone does on their pride and joy I changed the oil in my rear diff and polished my car Just switched to Mobil 1 5W-30W synthetic oil and got some NGK platinum Spark plugs. |
