well they had the swap in alot of magazines, but they twin charged the v6 in turbo magazine, the v6 was lighter, and they pitted the car against thier other mr2 turbo. the v6 had higher hp and of course more torque, but it still lost because they decided to use stock cams with the setup.. ps: they used it just turbo'd for the test because they were still having heating problems with the twincharging system..

honestly if they changed the cams the v6 would have beaten the tuned 3s. stock for stock they're about the same, 3s edges the 6 out, tuned, they both have about the same potential, i think they're both fun ideas smile.gif

Well if you did do a search you should have searched for ST246 or 4th gen 3SGTE.  If you want to go with the Caldina engine why don't you just try to do the ST205 3rd Gen 3SGTE swap since thats been done and is a little more easier than the 4th gen.

What the hell is an ST246? Correct me if I'm wrong but isnt the 4th gen Caldina chassis code ST215?

But yeah if you're confident enough to tackle the whole wiring thing with this engine then do it! and dont forget to keep us updated becasue there are alot of people on these forums that are interested in this process! Good luck man!!

this lists it as both, still, i tried both.. yeah, i am probably going to be swapping a 3sgte in sometime within the next few months so this is going to be the first place that i would update..

go for it, be differnt. it would be a cool swap to see.

trial and error. is the only thing i can think of with the wiring.

that's what i hope, i wired my friends h22 to his accord, but i still am not the greatest at that type stuff.. my friend erik is way better at it, i was thinking of taking it to him with a 6 pack or something.. still this is for the future, i think i should finish what i have first smile.gif

1 i did
2 i'm in the process of swapping an rb25det into a 240, i needed to drop the whole front suspention just so i could swap in the skyline crossmember, i'm not worried about how hard the swap is
3 how is your post useful? confused.gif

not to be a dick but this is what i asked you to avoid.

still, the other posts are useful, the wiring is the reason that i avoided the neo rb25det, more powerful and such but it's untracked and i can't locate a wiring diagram to save my life

does anyone know if the differences between the 3sgrte generations in the celica are any different from the mr2? i am assuming that they are the same basic differences within the mr2 engines but the caldina seems interesting..

no less thanks for the insight

hey everyone, few simple questions..

1 has anyone swapped in a caldina 3sgte?
2 are the mounting points different than a celica 3s?
3 will there be a problem with the mounting of the power steering on the caldina engine like there is with the mr2 engine?

and thanks for taking the time to answer,

seeing as though i'm reletively new to this board i feel as though i need to point out i did push the search button and i didn't find any help on questions 1 and 3, but 2 i'm fairly confident of, but peace of mind is hard to come by..

now as for questions i have that i didn't try searching, i know that mr2faq.com has the differences listed between the generations of the 3sgte in the mr2, but can anyone tell me the differences between the generations of celica engines and obviously the caldina engine.. well other than the horsepower differences..

still, if you can help, thanks, if you can't try not to reply. being a moderator on another web board i get tired of the word "noob" still, you guys have a really nice board and i'm glad to be a part of it, thanks ahead.. biggrin.gif
