Well it finally happened at 309k miles. Engine has started knocking, and I've decided to part out instead of scrapping. If interested in any part just email me at mnutt89@yahoo.com and I'll tell you condition and availability of part.

Ok guys I've read up on a bunch of your swaps for awhile I wanted to do a full on gt4 conversion from at200 then I thought 1mz swap now I think I've leaned over the edge a little. Has anyone considered the feasibility of an LS swap? I've seen a few gt4 clips that come with the rear subframe and I bet someone out there has just the subframe layin around that they got with a clip. My thoughts on it are there are most likely more ls parts available versus toyota parts and many more tune shops specializing in ls versus toyota. I know custom driveshaft and I'll have to cut a trans tunnel and I've seen guys talking about Tacoma 2wd diffs but not sure exactly how that would work. Also I plan for my backseat to be be taken out and fabbing just a steel box for whatever maybe a fuel cell. Anything I'm missin any ideas?

Any ideas guys? I wanna have all four headlights on all the time without blinding folks. is there a way to do a kinda drl setup for the highs so they run at half power until I hit a switch? Maybe set a relay to switch between a regular wire and one with a resistor?

My car was ABS, but it never worked cause my sensors were messed up. I swapped the non ABS master and lines into the car (all engine bay lines) and kept all the ABS calipers, hubs, and etc, and my brakes work fine.

If you have ABS already and you want to keep the ABS, then you need to get the parts from a car with ABS. (meaning the rear hub)
If you have ABS and you get non ABS parts, then your ABS won't work at all because you'll be missing two sensors.
If you don't have ABS and you get ABS parts, you still won't have ABS.

The only real difference between the ABS and non ABS are the knuckles and the hubs because they have a cutout for the sensor and the rings for that sensor. The calipers might have difference part numbers (not sure), but they're the same and work fine.

I figured there couldn't be much difference in the abs and non. Thanks for confirming, now I can go get my parts and do the swap.

im looking for the same stuff. fate's car has ABS frown.gif

Will the abs not work on non abs? I don't see anywhere that it says for sure if it does or not.
Fate also wants about $250 +shipping for his parts

the howto on doing the conversion says you need a non-ABS model
http://www.6gc.net/howto/convert_rear_drums_to_discs

I've read it. He said abs may work he doesn't know for sure...

The OEM is melded of sorts, I was saying would probably be easier to stitch instead of trying to get some adhesive to work on the seam. At least that's how I'd go about it.

Well I have em apart I got my head liner in looks awesome I don't think I'll use the mirrors but I found a way to stitch the fabric in like a sick flip in inside our an put it on with the mount taken off ill just poke a hole through for the mount

I tried to refurbish my sun visors in white faux leather a while back and I had a lot of problems when I got to mirrors... At the end I just rage-quit and did it without them biggrin.gif But I plan to redo it in near future, because I also used too thick foam layer (1 cm) and did a poor stitching... Not as simple as it seemed at first smile.gif

I don't think I'll stitch may just glue super glue works good with heat plus it'll make the final seam that much easier

I haven't taken an in depth look into it. If I had to guess you'd have a half for the front and a half for the back and run your stitching in the middle edge.

It's not a stitch. the material is like a cloth covered vinyl. If you take an xacto knife you can follow the seam then you have a pattern for your new material. There is a foam layer with cardboard at the core. I plan to use new sheet foam glued to a new piece of cardboard. I also plan to paint the mirror frame black and allow it to show instead of covering it as Toyota did. With materials in hand should take about an 1 1/2 for both visors.

Redo the visors in matching black felt! The hardest part is getting it cut out and tucked for the mirror.

So how exactly is it done? It seams like its stitched all the way around?

Ok, so I'm redoing my headliner going with black felt. I may paint my map light panel black as well. So going with this theme has anyone reupholstered their sun visors? My drivers side one is kinda ...droopy?? Any and all ideas are welcome.

One more question. Parking brake cable are they the same on drum an disc and how do I tell the difference? I found everything I need to do the conversion. I'm going with all new parts except the backing plate of course. Also the brake lines are they the same or should I just replace those as well?
