MW170 - Dynaudio 170mm Midrange/Midbass Speaker Is this the speaker that you got? If so, how is it running with the stock amp? |

Cool, finding a good 4 inch shouldn't be a problem. What about the 8inch speaker? On my alltrac I got the Kicker SSMB8, but I am unable to find a mid bass driver for the 99 Celica. Kicker doesn't make the SSMB8 anymore, so what would be a good replacement for a 8" mid-base driver? |

My 99 Celica Convertiable 8 inch speaker is blown. Does anyone know of a good 8" Mid bass driver that I can use. Current audio setup is just stock. Once I replace the 8 inch speaker I might as well change the rest. Anyone know the size of the stock front speakers? |

Source the parts from a vert and mod it to go along a liftback instead of a coupe. The real issue will be getting a custom window made. |

What has been said is correct, but I like to add some more. The reason that the 3rd gen is ok using the BOV is because the map system measures the air as it enters the throttle/intake manifold. In other words the BOV is located before the sensor. The second gen measures the air at the intake which the BOV is located afterwards. The best solution for the second gen or any system using a AFM is using a aftermarket system like the old HKS VPC. For example the HKS VPC system installs the sensor right before the throttle body and after the BOV. In any case the BOV is still recommended when using a 1st or 2nd gen 3SGTE due to a lack of a BPV. |

I've read that they don't last that long but my ST185 has it's set on headlights and fog lights since 2007. |

The silverstar are pretty good, HID would be nice but not needed. I thought I'll just post some pics if anyone was wondering on going with the silverstar. I know that there is the silverstar ultras but they don't have ultras in the H3 55w bulbs. |

If anyone is wondering on how the lights perform here are three before and after pics. The last pic with them installed I had slightly turn the camera to the right a little. Here you all go. Note: These are the regular Silverstar. Only the headlights were change. The fog lights are on and still using the regular H3 bulbs. Will change them at a later date. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

If installing one is done right, it can still look very nice. The issue is that most people don't and it looks like **** plus it cost money which most kids don't have. An engine no one can see but a bad paint and bondo job everyone can. Like what NYp8tBaller07 said, the older crowd like me don't like it. Then again I never did like it from the start even before the movie F&F. My first car was 1989 Supra Turbo. I believe I ran somewhare in 300+ hp range as I can keep up with vettes, and depending on driver a viper. Never dyno because I was never into the HP counting nor was I into the looks. My car look stock all the way to rims. Only thing that made my car look different was the 1.5 drop, HKS Supper Dragger, and JDM clear coners. I sold the car for parts due to school, but afterwards I got the ST185. Supra Mods in case anyone thought I was blowing smoke up my ass, as most people with and an intake thinks they got an extra 30 hp, LOL. going to check it out tomorrow and make sure where leakm is coming from. Man I hope its a line Sometimes the leak can come from a line or valve cover and streak down to the bottom of the head. From there it would travel around the headgasket making it look like its coming from there. Just remember if it is leaking from between the head and block then you have bigger issues and should stop driving it. |

Yeah, the first trip I took gave me 35 mpg which I thought was a mistake. The second trip was the one to Santa Monica Pier which was 36 mpg. It could be my driving habit when driving up. I don't try to pass anyone nor do I ever punch the gas pedal when entering the highway on those long trips. I like to relax when driving, plus I just love crusing in the vert. When back at home I hit the gas pedal harder. Extra note: Driving to LA was with the top up. It was down in Santa Monica and china town. The vert is also an automatic. |

copper spray gasket permatex should be ok. Did you check carefully to see if it is coming from between the head and block? Could be an oil line that is leaking or the valve cover leaking. |

Ok finally did some testing of MPG for my 99 vert. Did a drive to Santa Monica Beach Pier from San Diego. Also did some light city driving around china town. Highway speed range from 65-70 mph. (got two points so no speeding for me). 36 MPG was the result of that test. Another long highway test to LA gave me 35 MPG. Another test which was base around San Diego but mostly highway gave me 28-30 mpg. avarage out of 4 test 50/50 test gave me about 24 mpg. An avarage out of 3 test. Mostly city gave me 22 mpg. An avarage out of 3 test Only mod is a K&N drop in. Engine runs great with no oil leaks and timing was stock. New OEM toyota plugs, wires, cap, rotor, and fuel filter. |

Yes, a shop can weld one in. Just call them first, if they don't call another. |

While installing the new used motor and regulator from the junk yard, I found that the old one work just fine by using a battery and connecting it directly to the regulator. I used the same method of testing the switch but this time I check the voltage at the connector from the regulator. I found that when hitting down I would get a good 12v but the up will hit only about 9-10v. I'm Guessing it's something to do with the wiring at this point. Maybe the switch is bad too, but I'm not sure at this point. I just wiggle the wires and at some point it started hitting 12v again. It's working again now so i guess I just reused the orginal motor as do further testing. It sucks that I took everything apart even the motor and regulator just to put it back in, live and learn I guess. |

While trying to fix my window not going up issue, I fixed and corrected my mis align window. After doing the work I found it extremely easy to remove and re align the window. Things to check and correct. 1: First check the stoppers and make sure they are set correctly. 2: Check to make sure that none of the three white rollers are not broken. (From what you said it sounds like it is broken). 3: If the window does not aligned with the door window, then adjust the rollers by moving it left or right by the two bolts holding it on top. 4: Afterwards if everything is fix and aligned, but the window leaves a gap between the driver window, then adjust the rollers by using the torx socket to move in our out. Sorry I didn't take any pics, but I'll do a write up of it later, just with no pics. |

On my alltrac with the system 10 I got the Kicker SMB8 Mid bass driver/woofer. I know that they don't make these anymore but isn't there another 8" mid bass driver/woofer that will fit the 94-99 Celica. I ask because I'm looking at changing my system too, but I want to keep it as a mid bass. |

My girlfriend drives the 99 vert too and she always perfer auto. In cases like this is why some will ask for such a swap. Also my girl friend perfers a vert celica to most compact cars. She just loves the why the car looks and handles. |

It was just the butteryfly that was stuck. The carb cleaner must of remove all grease and such from the butterfly joints which caused it to be stuck open. After you drove it around a bit it must of regrease it through the oil vapor from your valve cover. Just remeber the only way for a engine to rev so high is a open throttle. Every sensor around your engine can break and it will never rev that high. No air, no spark, no rev. |

Testing the switch is very easy. When you have it out, examine the contacts and from there you add power and a multi meter. Power can come from a simple battery, and all you have to do is make sure the switch sends power when pressing it in both open and close. The multi meter aka volt meter will let you know if it works or not. I went to the local junk yard and got the motor and regulator for $75. I believe the side fender is great shape. |

I tested the switch last night and it's working just fine. I did some search on the web and came across a few saying that it was the regulator. I'm planning on going to the junk yard again today as there currently is one 97 vert there. Problem is that this yard I go too isn't cheap but its the only with a vert at the moment. |
