Any ideas about what might cause a car to idle high (2000 rpm) but also die when the gas pedal is pressed. I noticed a bit of power surging this morning but it went away quick. On the way home it happened again but this time with the high idle and weird throttle response. Ended up having it towed home.

I have the 5sfe. I had a check engine light for egr that come and go for a little while, now its gone completely. It felt like a fuel delivery problem aside from the high idle. Im planning on replacing my plug wires and fuel filter along with testing my fuel pump. Any other things i should look into?

Thanks

*UPDATE* a few hours later, the car is running perfect again. Not sure what the heck is going on.

QUOTE (chito15 @ Apr 27, 2015 - 12:39 PM) *
Yeah but is the Ez Coilovers a good ride and go low enough for me to be like a finger gap?

I've got the ez street coils, going on about 6 months now. The ride is way way way better than it was when I had my kyb gr2/tein spring setup. Its firmer but not harsh. It did take a couple days to get used to, theyre a bit bouncy at low speeds. But i havent figured out if its just they way they are or if i need to do some more adjusting. The only major difference is the lack of camber plates. As for going low, you can go really low. I haven't tried with mine but i know i could slam it if i wanted to.

I'll have to agree about the k1s, i've used and abused mine for a long time (10+ years)...only problems i've had were small crack on the inner lip on two rims. I had one repaired about 4 years ago and its been fine ever since. The other is currently at the shop being repaired. If you can find a set i say go for it.

QUOTE (Tigawoods @ Jan 12, 2015 - 7:10 PM) *
I dont think I have ever had a shop check my lights for DOT, but for their working operations and "regulation" colors
they didnt say anything about the headlights not being DOT approved haha.
I plan to finally get that issue resolved next weekend and the coilovers off finally

TEIN got my dampers and quoted me a handful for the overhaul in which they recommended replacing all 4 piston rods which they need to get from Japan. rolleyes.gif

Both the rear piston rods had pretty bad corrosion and pitting, the fronts I didnt see any issues with but I am going to see if they can explain why they need to replace them

I got these this weekend and fiddled around with the different degree adjustments I am able to set them at.
They so pretty, i dont want to put em on

What top mounts are those??

I'm rebuilding my 5s and want to use the metal headgasket instead of the crap one in my gasket set, does anyone have the part number? While i'm here, there won't be any issues using it on an older 5s, right? Mine is a 95.

Thanks
