Ok, I'm DYING for a specific set of wheels on our car. The HP Design Wheels HPR5 in black. But they don't come in a 5x100 bolt pattern.

I've seen spacers on eBay that convert a 5x100 pattern to a 5x114.3 pattern. These spacers are 30mm thick.

IF I was to run those with the 18x8 HPR5 with a +38mm offset, how would that look???? Someone, anyone???

Oh..that would be a problem I believed. Your wheel is +38 offset while spacer is 30 mm. Meaning if you push this spacer + your wheel then the offset will be as +8. It 's mean, your wheel will be overlap the overfender anyway.

The better idea is try to sale it and buy a new set if possible or use 10 mm spacer that made from high-strength alloy which could be a made-to-order..

goodluck.. smile.gif

I feel pretty stupid asking this, but I tried searching and couldnt find any answers. Do you guys with GT-4 hoods drive in rain, and if so, do you do anything to stop rain from pouring into the grille on top of the hood? What would need to be protected inside the bay (5sfe)? The intake quickly comes to mind in order to prevent hydrolock.

Good question actually. biggrin.gif From my experience with GT4 hood. I used to have a FRP sheet under the grille where some water, rain will be drained to fron of the engine. The reason this sheet is quiet improtant is it will help you avoid the water splashed too much to the dicharge, header and some area valve cover where spark plug and cable located.

If you can see the orginal GT4 hood, there will be a sheet protection under the grille like I told you.... biggrin.gif

Yeah, I noticed that. On close-up shots of some people's hoods you can see a metal vent thing under the plastic grille. Is it a Toyota part, and if so, does anyone know the part number?

I believed it is toyota part but I am forget the partnumber...
But be aware, some part from toyota that you may think it should not cost alot could be cost alot... biggrin.gif

Do you guys use wheel spacers? Is there any down side to using them? I would like to bring my wheels out about 1\2 inch in the front and and inch in the back....what do you guys thinkg?

I have been using custom made spacer all around. front = 1.7 cm rear 0.7 cm. almost 2 year with no problem...

The key point for spacer is:

1. Center bore of your wheel and spacer must be perfectly match and sit tie. this will ensure that there will be "no shake" when driving..
2. You stud if necessary may need to be replaced with longer stud.

goodluck...

lagos - negative nancy

Nampetch - I would imagen with full widebody and correct offsets that you should be able to get some bigger meats underthere.

Yeah I am try'n to avoid a staggered Offest/Rim size but we'll see. I have no doubts they will fit in the back, but the front just gonna play around with them in the front. I'm pretty sure that everyone knows that 19"s are for the look and not the ride quality. I love the look of them and try'n to get some more performance out of them. I plan on picking up a set of 18"s in the future and running the same tire size for track purpose's.

Thanks for the help.

DTE

With the widebody kit I got, 9.5" front and 10.5" rear could be fit with no doubt. However the tyre would be 235/35 (front) anyway or 245/35 maximum...rear tyre could be 275/30.
My offest in front (8.5") is -9 and -3 (9.5")rear. THe reason I pushed 8.5" and 9.5" becuase I believed that front-wheel-drive mechanism may not be able to live longer with the big wheel and tyre (especially in front). biggrin.gif

There is a great deal on a set of 255/35-19 for sale locally, I would be really interested in picked them up, but I am unsure about fitment. If it would just mean running some wheel spacers or mabey gettin different offset rims I would still be intersted. I am running:

KYB Gr2's
H&R lowering springs

ADR GT's 19x8

Edit: Mabey just fit in the back?

DTE

What is the offset? I am pretty sure that 255/35 or 30 in front will be difficult to turn the wheel due to not enough clearance....Tyre will be rub the inner side when you made full turn...

Another point is the wider wheel and tyre you get the rough feel you will get since the 19" wheel require at least 36 PSI of tyre pressure to avoid bending when drive in normal...then at 36 PSI or above + low profile tyre = rough feel...

my is 8.5 front and 9.5 read, 19" tyre 235/35 front and 265/30 rear tyre pressure 38 psi f-r...
no problem on daily drive...

In a magazine i've seen a guy with our celica with 20' rims all around. And was drivable. But he had the same set of rims at 22's that he used for shows only (couldn't turn)

20" fitment, you do need to carefully choose the offset and tyre profile will be as 225/30 or 215/35 which too low and hardly drive. especially in the front where the tyre will be rub the inner side of underfender area..

For safe, maximum you can go would be 19"....I have been using it over a year and no problem with it..

Hey all,

I've tried a search for this and it doesn't appear to have been a topic about it. Has anyone tried to have a 19x8 rim on their celica? I have a 98' SSIII. What tyre profiles have you fitted with your rims? Any problems? I'm thinking about getting a set of 19x8.

Any replies would be greatly appreciated.

thanks

19"*8 offset 35-30 would be perfect. I used to fit these before my ride got widebody. currently I got 19"x 8.5 offset -9 front and 9.5 offset -3 rear.

Not a job I ever want to do again...I`ve still got the back ones to do..Doh! Oh well...took me 9 hours to refurb the old brake callipers to their current standard, Took the old callipers off the car, lots of paint stripper to get the old paint off from my last attempt to make them look better, about 2 - 3 Hours of wire brushing to get the finish smooth and paint free...also there was a lot of disimilar metal corrosion around the back of the calliper which needed sorting out. Some heat resistant paint and a file later the results look pretty good, I also replaced all the seals and rubbers, and replaced the DOT4 brake fluid with DOT5.1...difference is amazing although had a siezed piston which wouldnt have helped.

The callipers went from this rather sorry looking thing.......

Nice work. I will get my GT4 brake this weekend and plan to refurbish them too. I wonder and appreciate if you can share, how do you sand the entire caliper so nice? Did you split caliper apart then sand it and painting? I am just thinking of get my caliper to the workshop where they have sand-spray service... wink.gif

Will do the back ones in about 40 years when I can be bothered again.

Actually you can use ST205 4 pot caliper to fit ST204. The bolt pattern is same but the front disc of ST205 which is 315 mm need to be removed to 300 mm to fit ST204.

If the brembo grantorismo kit is specifically to ST205 then it would fit ST204 but the bracket need to be reproduced anyway. I am also looking to get F50 brembo or Endless to fit my ST204 too. smile.gif

Just putting the calipers on would be worth the effort. Would there need to be changes in the mastercylinder? I would assume 4 piston brakes take my fluid to close than a single piston. I can't believe I have single piston brakes. I'd like to see pictures and measurements of each caliper side by side with measurements and what not to know exactly how to change them out. Nampetch, I know you don't post much, but I would be extremely greatful if you would post your experiance when you decide to do this to your car.

Sure I will. biggrin.gif

The C-one ST202 bumper may not be used with ST205 hood. THe reason is the ST205 hood has a front slope higher than ST202 bumper, then if you have ST205 hood and ST202 bumper, there will be a gap between bumper and hood (I am sure it 's look not so nice). kindasad.gif

I think the offset calculation must be precise otherwise rubbing you would caused. Or get your car a widebody then even 9.5" could fit then.. smile.gif

Nampetch , Do you have any pictures of the car while its geting the body work done? I need a higher resolution picture also.

2. Can H&R be matched with stock strut?
3. Can Eibach be matched with stcok strut?
4. How the driving quality and handling? (with stock strut).
