OK
Bunnies
I like them. not all of them (as it comes to many things when you build a car beyond the expected) but I like them.

I managed to have my hands on an original plastic liberty walk kit for a E92 BMW.
and as some of you have already saw at the fb groups I am building an rb kit for the 6gc.

It will be more tidy than the thai one
It will allow to be fitted with all of the oem ssIII, trd, c-one parts.

I will start a new thread when I find some time these days with plenty of photos.

this is a photo of the BMW fenders that I just test to see on the celica.
Nothing to do with the final result. just a photo wink.gif

that's actually not a bad way to do it.

the outer ring ID is probably -0.001 of what the OD of the old hub, if cut on a lathe, its pretty well balanced.

interference press fit...the majority of the stud is still on the original hub so the ring takes a little of the slack.

not much difference than some stuff I make at work for planes, actually never thought about this use on car hubs.

that's what I would say if my English were good enough.
Only one thing
the outer ring is welded on the hub, then machined and balanced.
It's one piece. o way it goes anywhere.
I'll try to get some more pics if it's possible because it's installed now.

this machine shop is doing conversions like this everyday. Literally.
I saw 2 more sets like mine converted as they was making mine and I talked to an vw golf owner that converted to 5x130 porsche PCD several years before.
I also saw some unusual brake conversions, turbo upgrades, custom control arms and many other fabrications. They also made a 1uz to mitsubishi pajero conversion.
I am more than sure about this.

after lots of searching and researching I gave up with parts I couldn't find here and were expensive to buy new over the internet.
that's my hubs machined and redrilled.

a "ring" of metal added around the hub to make it that bigger so the new 114.3 holes are in the hub
then new holes drilled
the whole surface was smoothed and painted black
existing studs pressed in and ready
costed 50 euro for each hub of the fronts
Rear one are bigger so just redrilling to 5x114,3 was needed

why does it escape so many that you can clock the turbo down so you dont have to run all that piping up and over the engine.

i gues thats just trail and error. Go as low as u can and start from there. if u get any problems just rais it, this is just what i think.

QUOTE (BonzaiCelica @ Jul 11, 2014 - 3:59 AM) *
since your suspension doesn't drop by the body of the shock or lower arm of the superstrut coilover. you'll be sacrificing stroke of the coilover for the fronts and rears, thus resulting in a car that handles worse than if you were to leave it at stock height like the coilovers came from the factory.

and stress on other suspension parts

ok I tried to check the suspension and I think I only have 1-1.5 inch available.
I'm a going to use much bigger wheels and tyres (car will be raised due to bigger wheel diameter.) so I am going to need more than this.
I am thinking of doing something this :
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2684/445167...42d5c2999_o.jpg

Of course I'll keep them under the hood.I just want to gain what is possible.
This would help the shock and spring movement but not the rest of the cars suspension parts.
what other suspension parts would I need to check or replace knowing they will be stressed with this new setup?

So after several months of waiting , wheels are finally here biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif and I'm back on the pcd conversion thing.
I'm thinking of machine-redrill the stock rotors and just change the hubs (if it's possible)
So I'm going to need :

- front 96-00 RAV4 hubs for the front
- rear hubs from an AWD Lexus RX300 for the rear (what year???? confused.gif )

Is that correct?
I'm trying to avoid ordering something that won't fit.
Just remember the car is AWD ST205.

u better hurry because I might just beat u to it,.. wink.gif

maybe too many rocket bunnyed 6gc's will show up at once wink.gif

It would still be a fresh look though lol surprised it hasn't been dun in the last 20 yrs.

Got the quote yday for it. Kit + fittin + full respray in ppg triple black n debadging will cost me £2400. I don't think it is worth it on an ST. Maybe for a GT and definitely a GT4. Havnt even looked into the alloys

price is nice
for all of these.
you are going to need proper wheels and coilovers.
so I don't think the ST is woth it either, especialy if you want a gt-four anyway

I don't think the 7th gen headlights would fit nicely on the 6gc.
One car is rounded the other is sharp.
Ofcourse you can properly make the swap but I think it will look funny

A company called DTM(I think) built a Camry running a 3mz/1mz combo. Built an boosted it made 1057 HP /629 to
Now given that's not your normal build but it does show what can be done. Pretty sure that's on a stock block with upgraded internals

Smash did a hybrid. He can tell you more about it than I could

I've seen somewhere that 1057hp camry. I didn't knew it was a V6 tho.
Of course it's not a normal built and personally I am not going after something like this , but that's the proof that a bigger motor is USUALLY capable of more power and reliability.
I am going to search more info about it.
Thank you. bowdown.gif

QUOTE (Special_Edy @ Jun 23, 2014 - 10:40 AM) *
You could probably turbocharge or supercharge a 1mz for the price of a 2gr.

A 1mz swap is about half or less the cost of a 2gr.
Maybe $1000-$2500 for a 1mz depending on how much you do yourself and twice that for a 2gr just based upon the cost of a used motor. I could go get a running 1mz for $300 but youre going to need a whole front clip for the 2gr unless you go with a standalone ecu.

Apparently some people have run low amounts of boost on stock 1mz internals and the TRD supercharger will run on a fully stock 1mz.
But the benefits of the 1mz and 2gr are not the horsepower, its the fact that from roughly 1000rpm to redline they are in the powerband as far as torque is concerned. A 1mz is pretty well matched to a 3sgte because of its broader torque curve vs higher rpm hp. The 2grfe is roughly making more torque at 1500rpm than the 3sgte's max figure

That's what I wanted to say Special Edy. Thanks!
It's not about the peak power the 3s may achieve, but the big diference at all rpms and the drivability of a light boossted v6 v8 . Plus the fantastic sound.
Another reason is that using a bigger displacement engine with 300hp from the factory with a small amount of boost to reach 400-500hp you may mot need excessive engine modifications that costs alot and you don't have to push the engine to it's limits.
The stock boosted v8 1uz I was talking about before was working at the redline all the time and never said a single no.
It had insane amounts of torque even at 1000+ rpm.
The owner of this car after some years of hard use did a experiment and he abolished the FMIC and its piping. just a straight pipe diect into the plenum!!!
He eliminated all the lag of the turbo eventually! Of course that caused the air to get really hot after a couple of minutes (with the consequences) but it didn't matter since it was a drift car and its use didn't exceeded that time.
and all these from a completely stock engine-ecu-fuel system-etc that was not supposed to be used like this.

About the 1-2gr now.
I wasn't able to find a single conversion here.
some 1mz could be found but that's not easy tho, nor that cheap frown.gif
Do you have any links of these boosted 1mzs. I would like to see some. bowdown.gif

My st205 has tein superstreet coilovers and it sits at the stock height. (I think)
Does anybody knows the lowest that this suspension can go?
and what suspension problems may I encounter running that low?
