my car is no suprica.. but it does have a little bit of go over stock. 1992 celica gt coupe! little mods here and there: coat hanger antenna, 7th gen shifter, fusion zri tires, underbody neons, stripped trunk with rear mount battery, ac removed, power steering removed, the whole works!!! |

dude.. just go find any auto toyota with a 5sfe (and possibly 3sge). i did my swap into a 5th gen celica, but the plug is exactly the same. i got the plug out of like a 93 camry or something at the local junkyard. i believe its any 5sfe toyota with ECT. edit: oh yeah, front clips are easier.. but it all depends on what ya have going for you. i picked up my engine from local importer, and the only reason i bought it, was because i saw the cut wiring harness with all the sensors lying on the floor. all i had to purchase was uncut harness (got for 100$), ecu (40$), and MAF (45$). engine was 750$ (with the sensors/cut harness).. just make sure you know what parts are needed for the swap before you try and piece it together.. |

i've raced a gst (them running 15psi) and pretty much only lost due to car acting up over 5krpm at the time of the race. if only i ran 15psi as well, it would have made it a much more fair race ![]() |

ehh, i heard from numerous sources that slotted and cross drilled rotors doesn't make a big deal anymore. they've designed them well enough for heat dissipation these days that cross drilling and slotting them doesn't really affect them. |

well...mostly true. remove the front stock inserts, install the new inserts. remove the rear strut assembly. cut the top of the rear strut assembly, drill the center of the bottom of the assembly. blah blah blah (only blah blah, because can't remember exact steps). install new insert, bolt it in, install the strut assembly. and drive away! |

id check out bilsteins well before bending over to kyb gr2's. go online and read reviews for them. i've read sooo many bad things about them. the bilsteins are just a tad more expensive (10$ per strut i think?), yet they are made by a respectable german strut company. and they'll take whatever beating you give to them. and besides that, they have a lifetime warranty like the koni's. so yeah, bilsteins... |

ehh, don't the springs keep you from bottoming out? thats why, in auto-x, when you have very high rate springs, they sometimes remove the bump stop altogether. to give it a little more travel, because they know the high spring rates will keep it from completely bottoming out and destroying the strut. meh, i dunno. whatever... |

your car looked nice when i saw it. what coilovers did you use again? i need to get a set to replace the h&r's. only been 3 months and i am ready for higher spring rates! go figure. its like boost, you just cant get enough...until you've blown something. |

most people usually love what they have. i've been told by a friend not to buy the eibach springs unless they are the ERS springs. he recommended the H&R sports, so thats what i got. 1.4inch front, 1.3 rear. progressive so they are smoother for daily driving, but once you hit the corners, they tighten up. |

i have them paired with the H&R Sport springs. the springs seem to have a decent springrate for the celica. and the drop isn't bad enough to need an alignment kit. |

try removing your wheel and throwing it back on again. it might be under tightened, but make sure you pull wheel off entirely and throw it on. and do the star pattern when tightening. |

i doubt it has anything to do with his acceleration. dude, its probably time to upgrade your struts/springs. your car is 10 years old. sounds like most likely your struts are blown. |

hmm, i am terrible at explaining ****, but here it goes: your struts are meant to handle oem springs. they weren't designed for springs or coilovers, which tend to kick up the spring rates a bunch. the struts are capable of properly dampening the lower spring rate springs, but once you bump the spring rates up, the struts cant handle them anymore. basically, be sure to pair up your springs with the proper struts for the application. if you are looking for more aggressive springrates, don't skimp on the struts. bleh, everyone just buy the koni's and be happy with them ![]() |
