The MAP sensor has a vacuum line attached that hooks on to something that screws into the intake. Apparently there is a difference between 95 and 97. The 97 had a single prong which broke when I swapped my wife's motor and I replaced it with the two prong off of the 95. I can hear the vacuum and if I cap it off with my finger it chokes the motor out. I'm changing the MAP today and would like to replace this part but I cannot for the life of me identify what it is called to get a replacement Please help

Either the batter is good or I have 2 bad batteries. I put the one from mywwife's 95 on and it does the same thing.
I decided to pull the new alternator and have it tested to make sure I didn't get a DoA partbbefore I go checking everything out

Checked the grounds they all look to have good connection the only thing I haven't tried with them is replacing each one. I guess my next step will be to pull fuses and stick a test light in each one to see if I have a short in one of the circuits.

While investigating I re pulled the electrical socket that plugs into the alternator and the inside of it started to fall apart I think my short might be in that plug because the alternator itself was extremely hot. So off to the junk yard after work to get a new plug.
Will update with results when done

Thought it was fixed. Today it did the same thing so I turned around and parked it. I'm pretty sure there has to be a shortssomewhere, anyone have a good idea of where might be a good place to start

11 v while running, turn the lights on and it drops to 9.5 so either alt is bad or something is keeping it from working correctly.

Just got done checking the basics all the fuses and relays appear to be in good working order. Still have 11.7v on battery. Ironically I looked behind my car while in the hatch getting out my volt meter and saw a black hatch across the lot from me. Nextsstep is to try to get a jump, see if I can get it started and test the voltage while running

Youwwon't notice much in the way of HP gaines. However if you through on a header SRI and a High-Flow cat it will help free up some of the restrictions on the flow of the motor and it will definitely feel like it has somemmore pep in its step. Worked well on the corolla which has the 7a

I swapped the motor and Trans out of my first celica after it was totaled ( a 97gt) into a 95gt.
Honestly I found it to be more of a pain to trace the wire for the obd out of the 97 than it was to swap the motor
I didn't notice very many if any differences. Although I have to admit I wasn't looking for them either. I had all the parts I needed less than 10 feet away from me though. All in all it took me about 24 hrs to completely swap both motors the computers and get the odb2 working correctly . Every time I get the emissions done the guys always ask me what I did to make the car run so clean, I smile and pull up torque while watchingtthem scratch their heads.

You could also check out The Retrofit Source for your projectors. From everything I've read the are really good quality and support is supposed to be phenomenal.

Yeah direct swap. I didn't have to change anything other than the caliper itself

I wouldn't call it hard it's just a lot of work.

Remove wheels and tires
Pull the axles
Support /pull motor and Trans. I would pull it personally it will give you more room
Remove the crossmember
Disconnect from the Knuckles from the ball joints, struts, and tie rods
Then you can disconnect the power steering rack. You shouldn't have to remove, but there are a couple of bolts that help secure the subframe
Place a jack stand on both sides and go to town on the bolts I think there was a total of 4\5 on each side ranging from 17-19mm
The higher off the ground you get the car to start the better off you been. Might have missed one or two things but that's basically it
