Let me make it clear. I was in no way implying that ANYBODY here was involvemd my exact words were that I find it very hard to believe it was a random act. The car has been drivable and running since the end of November. The car is also registered to a PO Box. I apologize if people were thinking I was accusing anybody. Believe me, as I have told Manny, if I had any inkling that I knew exactly who was involved, their name would have been dropped and they'd be dealt with legally. Just seems like it was a targeted theft to both myself and the authorities involved. That all being said, I am rebuilding the car, and this time using 100% reputable sources. Might even get around to fixing that busted ignition cylinder too. Here's to whoever took my ****, may it serve you as well as it did me. I'm done. |

cars get stolen everyday, not often do 6gc get stolen, but if you were to go around talking the car up to people in your area (not saying you were, just an example) its as easy as someone following you to the storage area a time or two to know where it is. sucks that it happened man, but doubt any board member would drive to CT to steal your v6 parts.. your one of the only 6gc guys in CT.. parts are cheap enough, prob someone in your area. good luck with the rebuild man. The worst is the harness end of the deal. Not looking forward to doing that again. I think I'll gladly pay someone this time who's reputable and wait the 10 days. Luckily, they only took on the surface the conversion parts. I can get those. I don't know what else is gone as of yet, but when I get the car back, I guess I'll know then. Just not what I want to keep dumping money into. I could have had an Alltrac with all the funds out laid so far, and it guess that stings too. Appreciate the kind words Cam. |

.......... Now, only 4 people on this board know the car stays at my house (and have seen it there), and maybe 2-4 other people outside of here know where the car was as well. T............ ...........Rest assured I will be watching local forums and here. I pay for my ****, so should you.............. so basically you are accusing members of this board for stealing your stuff? members with a v6 swap can be counted with the fingers of 1 hand, or maybe two.... lol This thread is full of win. You are awarded the Fail cup of win.... ![]() I'm not accusing anybody. I just find it very hard to believe someone would just randomly steal my car from my driveway expecting it to be swapped. |

Can't catch a break. Someone decided that they needed the harness, my dual throttle body manifold, and my intake a week or so ago. I immediately called the police, who chided me for not filing earlier...but I was away for the weekend when it happened. The car was fingerprinted for evidence, and in their search for evidence, they found a nice little note. The note basically said "Go **** yourself." Now, only 4 people on this board know the car stays at my house (and have seen it there), and maybe 2-4 other people outside of here know where the car was as well. That being said, I find it very hard to believe this was random. Parts were taken that would be a key factor to a V6 swap into a 1996-1999 Celica GT. I'm surprised they didn't just steal the car and strip it down, would have been easier, quicker, and THE KEY WAS IN THE IGNITION!!!!! Oh wait, they did steal it and left it in a park/ride. Imagine that phone call, they were trying to call me as I was talking to them. The car is in a holding lot right now, and should be released this week to me. I'm kinda disgusted to see how badly the fuzz tore my car apart. When the car is released, I'll take some pictures just so I can look at how some punkass wastes of life decided they wanted to **** with my car. Plans now are gut it, run full standalone, and turn it into a track car that I can drive every day. This way I have an excuse to keep it in a garage. Or, I may just sell it as it for a very cheap price. I haven't decided. If I sell it, I make no bones that parts are/will be missing. I'll probably want like $850 if I do sell it. At least I can recoup the shell money. Rest assured I will be watching local forums and here. I pay for my ****, so should you. I might not be the worlds most awesome dude, but I don't steal from people. I've been scammed twice on this build, had stuff stolen off the car several times, just finally got a title for it and it registered, and was in a spot where I was about to ship it off for bodywork. **** it though, right? |

Car--500 V6 swap--3200 with exhaust, re-cert, etc. Suspensions--2000 (coils, new arms, etc) Stereo--1000 Car was totaled 3 weeks ago I think (horrid with time), I got back $4800 and kept the car. New car--800 Sale of parts from both cars--1000 credit and rising Round 2 of V6 swap, this time with an AT200--500 in extra shizz Total investment for 110,000 miles and two years (excluding maintenance): $2200 I thank my lucky stars that old spicbitch had good insurance. Insurance companies hate receipts, so save everything. If you get a used part, get a receipt. If you don't have a receipt, you can't get paid for it. |

Think I have about run course with Stage 1. 5000 miles on the swap (split between two different cars, long story), chassis is sorted enough to be confident, and it's winter. Throwing her in the heated garage for winter while I hoon around in a VR4. See you all in the spring, time to go live on 3si.org like I do every winter. |

...your car is worth half as much as an Integra in the same shape, yet cost $5k more new. ...you get asked at least once a day if it's your (insert random female title here)'s car. ...you have to constantly justify the v6 swap to everybody. ...no one thinks anything of your purple zebra seat covers, because dudes don't drive Celicas. ...you go to a gay bar with a friend and drink for free because of said seat covers. (Win! I'll gladly drink for free!) ...valet park it, and the Valet leaves YOU a tip in the ashtray of his phone number. ...you get pulled over and get asked: "Does your girlfriend know you were speeding in her car?" (Car is in my name...grrr) ...you constantly get "Hey, sweet Integra!" ...you spent $600 on front and rear splitters because they were pre-painted the right color, and they came from Japan. There's more I'll be adding as I visit more places and do more things with her. |

What a shame. I owned Integras because of this movie. I will also never be able to afford a MK4 Supra as well because of this movie. RIP Paul, I hope I go out like you. |

300mm MAX. Let me throw that brake line info in, but ST205 lines will work if you can find them, or SS GT lines will fit (I used the rears in the front and the fronts in the rear since the fronts were getting close to stretching when at full lock, when switched they operate just fine) 302mm will work also that what i have on my car well its act slightly larger but 302mm works well in mine..(mine are reduced st205 discs) , I would be wary of the pads you choose to use also as some have the braking material located differently on the backing plate and this can have you braking surface of the pad coming out over the top of the disc. have you looked into Vw discs they easily available to you over there? some of those are 300mm, Subaru seem to be the most common for this conversion I can post pictures of my conversion of the Gt-four brakes on the st202 hubs if you like? VW makes a disc that's 288mm or 312mm. More than likely, Subaru would be likely to have an 11.9" (300mm) rotor that would fit. |

I've seen people sell cars being financed before, then of course you have dealers selling cars all of the time that most of the time are doing financing on them. Just have to get things arranged with whoever you're financing with for prospective buyers. They are fugly, not Aztek fugly but more like xA or xB fugly. Why would you want a boring car for, that's so boring. If you insist you should get the comfiest luxury cruiser you can find, really make that 5 mile drive to work more enjoyable. Since I'm in the market for another car as well, we can pick out a car for each other based on a list of criteria. ![]() Extremely easy to sell a financed car. They get money, you and them sign an agreement WITH A LAWYER that upon receipt of funds from buyer, you have 14 days to procure title from whoever, otherwise all monies to be returned to the buyer. Most finance companies allow wire transfers (same day payoff), and will express the title (for additional $$). If you can't do it in 14 days, you're a knuck. Bought 4 cars this way, all 4 times, it was just fine. The signed agreement protects everyone. |

It'd be interesting to see for sure. Far as I understood, the AZ series has a different bellhousing bolt pattern, but that can be rectified easily. We'll find out, I have a random blown tC trans in my garage that will get junked other than the bell. I want to see if it bolts to the E153 and such. |

OK, here goes. 300whp leaves you with two options: 3VZ turbo or 3SGTE. , You also didn't mention if you need to maintain emissions compliance either. The only legal swap perse would be a 1MZ. All the others render the OBD2 port useless. Contact your local authorities if you have questions regarding legality. My 1MZ swap is the only swap that scans properly with the obd2 port for a state emissions test. |

I'm getting close to this thing being drivable, and it's gonna need some snow tires for winter. I usually run Blizzaks, but I think I may want to try something else this winter. I want some honest opinions on snow tires from you guys, and what size you're running. Will be using factory GT rims until I finish the conversion, then Camry 15" steels thereafter. |

Still plugging away (literally). Been enjoying fall this week, going places and doing things. There's a plan for sure, and it's being worked. Just taking my time and doing what I can when I can. My priority isn't the car right now at all, but myself and my daughter. The car gets a budgeted 8 hours per week of time, and now there's no pressure. It went back to being fun, and really, that's what it's about.d Besides, if it isn't fun, why do it? I enjoy the nights where I crank up the tunes, smoke a bit, and wrench. Now that we're in the phase we're in, we can have fun and attack things as they come. Switched the plate number, and I couldn't do that without doing something else, so something else happened and soon I can POSSIBLY daily drive this car. Needs tires and brakes before then however. My plan right now: one day at a time. Oh, and Venza wheels. I think that's a good plan. |

Today I took a big step towards stability, normalcy, and happiness. We'll see how that interview went, if I get the job, it's a change in scenery, change in careers, and hopefully a lot less stress. Like Kurt and I talked about earlier in the week, it's what is supposed to happen if you own a V6 Celica. |

Thought you already ordered a 1mz harness from tweak?? That's what you told me on the phone anyway....... It's all set up to order,,I've filled out the paperwork, boxed up the harnesses, and have the credit card opened for business, I just have to part with the money, and there's so much more I could do with the money than spend it on something twice. That would mean I spent almost $1200 on wiring. Ouch. I want to do it, but I feel like my deficiency with wiring will harm me later in life, so Ineed to at least attempt it. If I botch it, Iat least tried, and then I'll pony up. I could afford the $850 or so for a new one, but like I also said, I'm wiring deficient. I had to learn how to weld to finish some aspects of the project, I need to learn how to read a wiring diagram. Right about now, I'm at the proving things to myself stage, and to fail to learn how to read a wiring diagram means I'm failing myself, the car, and others who are in my boat. I'm glad Box can help me better understand the diagrams, because aside from my harness builder telling me I need a resistor to step from 12V to 8V on the COR, I'm kinda lost. I damn near trade the car, and Ihave this stunning moment of clarity about the whole deal. When I started this project, I couldn't weld. Now Ican weld anything with the best of them. I couldn't design something, but I ended up researching an alternative option for fabricating a carrier mount bracket. I didn't know a lot of things I know now, and to basically throw away my canvas for what I've learned would be a crime. Wait until I learn bodywork, I'm predicting that'll ocme out well too. Just need to pick up some bumpers and I can start on that. Have the fenders and doors already. A color change is imminent, but to what I will decide later. I have a very, very short attention span, and that is my downfall. However, they make pills for that, and I gotta get me some so Ican actually focus on the car. Things like baseball, girls, and life cause me to run the train right off the tracks. I think I'm just frustrated Idon't have a harness yet, and I'm tired of seeing her lifeless. Time to burn one and sleep for a while. These racing thoughts of what is and how it should be keep me awake and restless. I feel like I haven't slept in weeks with all that's going on. I'm pretty much living in my car, I don't have my best friend anymore, and I'm tired of always coming in last or not at all. I mean, at this point, Ifeel like throwing in the towel and saying screw it all. I'm at a standstill with a lot of aspects in life, and Ihate that. |

I don't know about anyone else, but I am super excited my Red Sox made it this year. So excited, in fact, that I nearly traded my car for tickets. That being said, who here is a baseball fan? I'm saying Sox in 6. |

Well, I'm going to the World Series... ...but I still have my Celica. I paid through the nose, and it's possible more downtime for the car, but it's worth it. Box, I'll talk to my buddies and get you the wiring diagrams. Ever seen the movie Fever Pitch? I'm Jimmy Fallon. I would trade my soul for World Series tickets. What he was going to do with the car is put the 1MZ in his Camry and scrap the Celica, so I said no way. I love my Red Sox, but I love my Celica too. Would have been a shame considering I have this black and purple dragon on my arm that's apparently permanent. They told me it would wash off, Ithink they lied. Healed pics soon. Who from New England wants to go see the Sox win? I have two unspoken tickets in the Monster. |

I had a trade offer the car today. I'm going to take it depending on how good the tickets are. I have always wanted to see my Red Sox in the World Series, and the opportunity to see them twice is something I really cannot refuse. |

No progress today. We had a '73 Triumph come in, and it looks like I'll be doing a clutch on it. It's ok though, because it's just more money for the project. I'm going to try to make some sense of the diagrams this weekend, if I can't, I'll have to order a harness. Funny, because I can wire up an old British car, but can't wire a swap.Wiring up a British car is as follows: one GIANT ground in which 17million little wires come off it, then a couple sensor leads here and there haha. Why can't a 1MZ be this simple? |
