Any idea what size those bolts are? I know the head size is 10mm, the shank looks to be something like 5 or 6mm. Not sure what the thread size is though.

Hi everyone, I was an idiot today and snapped one of the oil pan bolts on my 1994 ST. The bolt head sheared off at the pan leaving nothing to grab onto to remove the broken shank. Short of removing the whole pan and getting the bolt out that way, what would you guys recommend?

After further analysis, it looks like the tension is correct, the belt is also pretty much centered.

It is hard to judge 4 lb of pressure, but it seems like more than the 6 mm allowance.

One side is pretty tight, as you move down the belt it gets sloppier; it's not that horrid though.

I'll have to go take another look.

The tension could be wrong then? Or would the belt need to be replaced?

Hey, any ideas what this noise is? I think it has been happening for a while, but has gotten louder in the past couple of days. I've heard that it could be the solid lifters tapping, but I just want to make sure it isn't something super serious. I am running 10W-40 conventional and I have 2000 miles until the next oil change. My engine has been rebuilt by Toyota and has just under 70,000 miles on it. I rebuilt the tranny and it has 9000 miles on it. Here is a link for a video.

How much shorter is it than the stock short throw?

I found a 1998 Corolla transmission that I figure is a C59 series that my mechanic is going to strip the gears out of and place into my C52. Hopefully this will work, or else I will have to pay to get brand new gears which on a student budget is quite expensive. By the way thanks Kwanza for the reply.

Hey

I know that this has probably been answered already in another post, however I couldn't find it anywhere. I am wondering what transmissions fit the 7A-FE engine that resides in my Celica. I know that the tranny that is bolted onto it right now is the C52, but I was wondering what other transmissions fit and if it would be better just to rebuild the one that I currently have.

Thanks
