I didn't have to remove the back of my rear seats to get mine out, just the bottom portion. It really isn't as bad as I thought it would be, and I'm far from a mechanic. Just use a paint pen to mark up the screws holding the track in place so you can put them back in at the exact same position.

I've done a search with no luck so hopefully someone can help me. My rear drivers side window on my 98 Celica vert will only go down, not up. I tested the wiring at the harness and it is sending 12v to one wire when you press up, and 12v to the other when you press down, so the switch doesn't appear to be the problem. I replaced the motor with a new one and still have the same issue. The motor will spin when when I press down, spin in the opposite direction if I reverse the wires, but not spin at all when I press up.

I've heard there is a relay that might impact this. I found a relay under the speaker, but the wires that go to the window motor don't come from this relay. Would this still be the correct relay, or is there one elsewhere that I should be looking for?

I was able to find the Dorman 742-600 motor for my 98 Celica at my local auto store for around $50. It didn't show up on their computer as a match, but it was an exact match to the original. Other than that I can't help. Good luck.
