Nice pics. Sorry I couldn't make it earlier(I had the nsx). By the time I rolled in there were only a few guys left. Matt p.s. I know, I know its an automatic. I wanted a Sebring Silver nsx and I settled on the auto due to the difficulty in finding a decent one. Give it awhile and the auto tranny won't be in there anymore. |

hey there, Yeah, I noticed that, I don't know why it came out like that, im thinking the flash. I will take some pics without it on to see if that works better(and yes, it was a true hid kit, not "hid bulbs" from kmart, lol) Matt |

Hey all, Well, I posted several months back after getting new wheels on the c70. Just added a few more mods, including IPD mesh grille, 6k HID kit and a Pioneer avh-p6500 in dash tv/dvd player/navigation, etc. Just wanted to post some new pics. Next mods are a v70r front bumper(has a cool little lip), true HID foglight kit, carbon fiber hood and maybe a sub/amp combo. Im saving for another car(want a convertible) so I haven't been putting as much money as id like into it. thanks for looking, Matt ![]() |

the cavaliers use an ecotec engine. Supposedly it can be a pretty stout engine, but havent really looked too much into it. matt |

Well, my story should fit in pretty well with some of the other stories. My father was a stockbroker and my mom was a lawyer. Father went to jail in 1984 for investing clients money in accounts they didnt agree to invest in. Parents divorced a year later, after my father had spent almost $500k of our families assets. Mother worked as a lawyer for a few more years, then worked at a private practice firm as a partner. Sold her stake there and worked as the state director for the dept. of health and human resources for two years(she was in charge of the child support agency) and now she is an administrative law judge. Father is somewhere in Florida I believe but he isnt a good man and I do my best to stay out of contact with him. Mother remarried in '90 and my stepfather works for the state dept. of education evaluating common market programs at state colleges and universities. He just received his doctorate and does pretty well. Parents are well off but my mother to this day drives a toyota corolla. She is very frugal with her money and doesnt extend herself. She always says that she would rather be able to have money saved in case something happens versus driving an expensive car. I was never spoiled as a child and the biggest gift I ever received was my old celica(the chameleon one) for my 16th birthday(it was stock then). My mother is definately my role model in life as she is 52 now, still a judge, is on the board at our local credit union and is the president of our local YMCA as well. On top of that she plays tennis 6 days a week and can still outrun me in a sprint(im 24 and went to college on a partial soccer scholarship, im not too slow). I have three brothers within 5 years of me(oldest is 25, im 24, then 23 and 20). I am in the military to pay for my education and im finishing my degree in Engineering before applying to law school. Overall im very happy with my parents(or at least my mother). When I was younger I wished she would spend more money or buy me things but in hindsight I wouldnt have it any other way. matt |

Trust me, I know the feeling. The chameleon celica in my sig line was the first car I ever hooked up. I remember reading all the magazines at the time(there were like 2, this was the mid-90s) and wishing what I could do. I would sit there at night and write up lists of what I wanted. It was crazy, I was completely obsessed. My freshman year of college I went to my first import shop. After a couple months I bought a universal muffler and had it welded on. Then I cut my springs(which I quickly replaced with lowering springs), then side markers, then headlight bulbs(hey, that was alot for a broke kid!). One day I was at the shop and they were busy and I actually ended up helping a customer buy some stuff since I basically knew about everything in the store. I was actually offered a job there right after that and once I started getting the hookup on parts and stuff it was all downhill. I spent ALL my money on the car. Im talking eating ramen noodles so I use my money to get my valve cover polished, lol. I did have the first working clarion autopc on the east coast though! That has to count for something. Anyways, enough babbling. Im just happy to have the means to support my habit and im sure it will only get worse. matt |

lol, I make decent money as an engineer but by the time you figure in bills, living expenses, etc. I have to spend wisely. Its tough enough trying to mod one car. Imagine doing it with 3(I dont mess with the cavalier), lol matt |

I love the is300 but I already have a four door and didnt want another. I also paid cash for this one so at least I dont have a payment. I have a 2004 jetta 1.8t in gunmetal that I use when I have friends with me, this car for the weekends, a 2003 cavalier 4-door to commute into work(been hit 3 times with it, lol) and a 92 tercel that I am only using to race(4efte swap, fully gutted). Maybe ill step up to an is in a year or so once im making a little more money. matt |

thanks for the compliments, yeah, I sold my stock wheels for $750 plus shipping! I am a toyota person at heart but I wanted something upscale to drive around in on the weekends. Dont get me wrong, its not a mercedes or bmw or anything but its different and it stands out. Kinda why I love playin with celicas so much. You can go to a car show and you dont see 80 other cars like yours! matt |

hey all, If you read my previous post I recently purchased a 1998 volvo c70 coupe. Its saffron metallic, has the high pressure turbo, and is a 5-speed manual. I just got the new wheels and tires in and thought I would post a couple pics. They are 19 x 8" moda r6's with 245/35/zr 19 nankang ns-ii tires. Only other mods are european oem clear turn signals, springs, and a reprogrammed ecu. The car is really quick, and they only made 145 ever in this color so its kinda unique. thanks for looking ![]() pass. side(that is a sexy thumb dont ya think!) ![]() closeup of the wheel ![]() there are some pics of my old celica on the second page. matt |

im an engineer in the Coast Guard. I get to see and do alot of cool stuff. Been in 3 years. Spent two years at UNC-Wilmington for finance, then decided I wanted to go into engineering. Im finishing up my degree at Temple in the evenings. Then off to OCS to become an officer. Then ill be really cool like Richard Gere and just walk into some random factory in South Philly and carry out the first pretty girl I see(ok, so maybe the being cool thing and the kidnapping thing weren't true, I just watched an officer and a gentleman, which is about ocs) matt |

Hi there, I had 18 x 7.5 alt x-files on my old 6th gen with ground control coilovers. I had no rubbing whatsoever and wouldve liked to go wider. One option you have is to use wheel spacers. You could always just run wider spacers in the rear to push the wheels out. That way you could still rotate all four wheels/tires. Just a thought. matt |

I ran a 16.9 in an automatic 94 st on 18's in '99. Trust me, I was just into show then, not performance but decided I would run it. My only mods at the time were a short ram intake and stock exhaust piping with a muffler. The only thing I had going for me was a gutted interior as it was being finished at the interior. Just shows you how lightening a car can affect its performance. I believe there was an article in SCC recently about weight savings on a Z and its affect on performance. Now that im older and basically out of the show scene I am a big fan of weight reduction on a car that I plan on racing. I have some pics of a tercel I am performing a 4efte swap in. The car has a steering wheel, fiberglass dash, pedal and shifter assembly and one seat. Thats about it, lol. Took me 8 hours to get all the tar off the floor. Oh the stupid things you do for your cars:) matt |
