Well the car has almost 200,000 miles and it just leaks ive changed the oil pump and valve cover seal and still leaks so im just gonna rebuild and do the head gasket and rear main seal and since im doing that i might as well do all the gaskets and seals

Im gonna look into finding another motor but hopefully its not the same price as a 3sge, I live in vegas so its rare finding parts for celicas its all about hondas in vegas plus toyota dealarships are ripp off for oem parts unless your work for them

Do you think its gonna cost the same price of swapping a 3sge cause the prices are rounding about the same price ?

So ive looked around and havent really found a proper forum that covers rebuilding the 5sfe, everyone just wants a rebuild with turbo or swapping out for faster parts. I just want a simple rebuild, keep everything stock so i can sell it later for a 3sge cause its my daily car at the moment.


Ive been looking at the gasket kits and reseal kits on ebay and wanted to know if those were any good or should I just stick with oem but is it worth it spending alot of money staying oem when when ebay gaskets are almost just as good.

I just need a list of what I am looking at to buy and how much im looking to spend. Just want a stock rebuild nothing crazy

let me know how that goes ???? cause im doing the conversion soon but im gonna use custom drilled celica rotors for front and back with camry hubs

What I dont understand is why anyone hasnt tried any rotors or hubs from a mr2?

I know the hub's off the mr2 are the most similar when it comes to the celica being that the axles are just about the same using the same motor 5sfe or the 3sge

Anyone selling JDM fenders or knows any thats selling ?

its sounds just about the same as an 3sge swap what makes it so cheaper? I was looking up on engines there just about the same price is it 1mz-fe or 3mz-fe btw cause im confused just a tad bit

So I could use my tranny and axles ? I dont mind having my car down for no longer than two weeks

what would I need for the V6 swap?

You think most of the money is gonna go to labor or buying parts cause im thinking about going to a shop

Thanks so much ive been up on my research but not many answers were givin considering an st coupe and some having different opinions on whats required for the swap but you really help alot thanks again but another question? since the mr2 is rear wheel drive do i have to change my axles? how does that work?

I drive a 94 celica st with 7afe and I wanna go for the red top swap, what is it that I need ? and does it drop in simple and easy or you have to do some modification I need help

Yea those lips on ebay are a bit expensive and the ones on andys auto or too exotic for me, I feel like the home depot lip is half ass like I know there has to be something better, i was giving the idea to buy two cheap lips and weld together incase short can make it long enough to fit sounds dum but so far thats what I got in mind

Its impossible to find a good lip for this car has anyone test fited any lips from a different car, I wonder if civic or integra lips fit ? or any other car? I need to know

How did you get those 7th gen seats in ? did you change anuthing or was it a direct fit?

This still kinda confuses me I drive a 94 but what I was thinking just buy a universal slider that attatches to the 7th gen seats and 6th gen bracket instead of all that work idk if that would work just an idea
