Capacitors SUCK. They drain WAY to quick and then your back to draining the battery. I ran 2 batteries in the Celica with the stock alternator running all day long with no problem. I had a kx1200.1 kicker amp running 2 L7's (1440 watts rms btw) and had no problems what-so-ever. All you have to do is run a power wire from the front battery to the back battery, and have a good ground. That way the front battery will charge the back while the car is running.

Just my .02

I was running a kx1200.1 kicker amp to 2 L7's and had a second kinetic battery. The amp was rated at 1374 watts, and i ran it all day long no problem. I only had 4 gauge wiring also.

Really? I appreciate your feedback... So even with a second battery you still didnt have any problems... hmm well i think il be fine then because i was looking at an mtx or maybe something kicker which are both power hungry

With the 2nd battery and the amp turned up, I got a little dimming, But that was very rare cause i only had the amp up at competitions. even with it down everyone in town hated it cause it was so loud lol. I havent heard too much about mtx, but since i got into kicker equpiment, ill never go to ne thing else! and I looked at the birth sheet again and its rated 1440, not 1374

I was thinking between 4-5 depending on who buys it. You might get more if mommy and daddy buy their kid a sports car, but thats a stretch.

the guy who hit the celica had allstate. I fought with them for over 8 months because they wanted to total out the car, so i finally sent them pictures and they sent out a check to get it fixed.

They aren't the best dealing with people!

I got into the stereo comps last year and so far i have done pretty well, t least i think lol. But i didnt know if it was louder under the dash or at the headrest.

Under the dash I was at 144.2

The TC is a good choice. If you want, try looking over t scionlife.com. aftermarket is pretty good on them, unlike my xb lol. You can find one for about your price range if you look hard enough.

If you wanting to bump....Hard, then your gonna need ALL of your trunk, Because like everyone has said, you need a box with alot of airspace for the subs.

I have had both, sealed and ported, I personally like ported better only because I did stereo comps. and it was loud. But for everyday driving, I couldn't turn it up. I mean i can, but....you sound like all the people with "bump, bump, bump" and no "vocals". Sealed boxes give clean tight bass and let you hear all your vocals.

Amps can go either way, Obviously the more power you have, the louder. But don't buy ebay or generic carp that put a "3000 watt" label on it and your only getting 200 watts. Go with a major brand (kicker, alpine, kenwood, etc.) Personally, I'm a HUGE Kicker fan. I love their products (beside the price) lol.

Speakers are the same way, Don't cheap out. You will end up paying in the long run. Again people put ridiculously large wattage number on them and they aren't. Another thing to watch for is the RMS rating on the speakers. That is ACTUAL wattage it can handle. Try to stay below that number.

Placement....Thats all a matter of preference. I've had it both ways, both ways rattle, it has been metered both ways, with the subs facing the trunk, it was 2 db louder, so if that helps ya any. I have heard, but never tried, facing upwards is the best, but like I said never tried. I know if you lay the seats down when your bumpin, it is louder, but will also be seen.

Sorry if any of this has been repeated, I just kinda skimmed over what has been said. Sorry to anyone I offended, I am just going by personal experience. I know I'm not an expert at this, but I try to learn as much as possible.

And if you have any other questions, just ask and I will try and help out!

Dustin

Check my profile to check out a park-bench wing. Everyone i talk too says it "makes" the car. I think with the extreme body kit, it would look ok. But i like it on there.
