i'm looking at buying a 94 st which is missing the passenger side headlights. so obviously i need to find some, and i figure i may as well start sooner rather than later since i'll probably go hopefully buy it on wednesday.

anyway...anyone got a set?

not to speak for him...but last time someone asked how much he said he wants to trade not sell. otherwise i'd probably have bought it by now

actually there's a pittsburgh craigslist...

besides, if he did sell instead of trading, it has to go to me i told him a few months ago i'd probably buy it. haha.

as an update, the 5th gen was a piece of crap that leaked more oil than it held, and then stopped going into 1st gear, and i don't feel like fixing it in the cold, or paying to have it fixed...


so i'm looking for either a 6th or 7th gen celica. i still want akimbo's car, but that just doesn't seem to be meant to be

any chance on some better pics than what's in your profile?

are there any oil leaks/or similar issues?

my sister lives in miami and is driving home for christmas, so she may be able to bring it up for me...

do you still have the stock wheels? i'd prefer them to the 18's...

that is, i'm trying not to settle.

it's been a few months of looking all the time. if i'd had as much $ at the beginning as now, i'd have been in better shape. now there just aren't the right cars.

nope. i didn't want to get in a situation where i had a car i didn't really like and would want to sell in 6 months. i'm tired of it.

it was in really good shape overall, but had a bit too much rust on one side (the other side was perfect) the price was good, but as much as i'm tired of driving my loud car...i finally decided to try to be patient for once.

didn't buy the car i looked at...

so still looking.

haven't bought anything yet, but probably checking out a car tomorrow or saturday...

but of course, let me know if you've had any news.

well, my email was down and i couldn't get the messages from the people with the other cars, so as of now i've not bought anything else. keep me posted on when you're ready to sell, and hopefully i won't have gotten anything. black 6th gens are just sexy.

don't know how either of these might work out, but i might go see a 90 laser turbo for 2k, and a 94 celica for 3k up towards cleveland.

akimbo...i'd rather own yours i think, but on the other hand i'm cramped with the free time i have to try to pick something else up, and the 87 is just not something i want to depend on any longer than i have to.

again, please let me know as soon as you can about it...i can put off making a trip to see these if necessary.

hey, i don't want to be all impatient, but please get ahold of me when you get a chance. i'd like to figure out if this is something we'll be able to work out, in which case, i'm fine with waiting till the car is ready (though sooner the better of course) but i contacted someone about a 94 civic coupe 5-speed for 1600. granted a civic isn't what i want, but if it turns out i can't afford your car or a similar nice celica, then i figure a civic would be a good daily driver for the next year or so till i can get something i'd rather have.

so anyway, just pm or email me so we can talk the details or whatever.

cool, thanks for the info. if it's even driveable though, i don't mind fixing it. i've done enough calipers and rotors in the last 2 months or so to not even notice. haha. but either way is fine.

i might be interested in the celica. i just sold my mr2 a couple months ago, and not ready to go back to the 2 seater thing yet (i never have passengers in back, but i like to be able to fit things in the hatch)

well i had *originally* (and probably still for alot of cars) not wanted to spend more than 2500. i know before you wanted more than that for yours, and that's understandable if it's still in the same condition it was before.

i'm thinking i can get around $4k or so. to be honest i just really want to get something around here, and i remember when i saw yours it looked like the way i would have done the car. my 87 celica gt is kind of....well, i haven't put money into it, because it is a rust bucket. the latest thing that has happened was my exhaust rusted in half. so it's embarrassing to drive, and the cops are not so friendly with that sort of stuff in my area. so i really don't like driving it. hence the heavy search for another car. it can just be hard to find a nice celica around here sometimes...and your just an hour or so away.

i've had about 4-5 cars with agreed upon times to come and buy it (when even sellers claimed they didn't have a time sooner) who then sold it the day before i came down. so needless to say, i'm ready to be done with it, and have something in good shape to drive to school and work.

sorry, i have no way of towing a vehicle. even within state it would be hard for me to tow (no truck or trailer...rental can be pretty killer)

and especially not within 2 1/2 days since i've got work or school for about 14 hours each day

ok, well i might have figured out a way to get the $. now i just have to make sure i really want to spend every dollar i can scrape together on a car.

i've been considering cars that of course aren't quite as nice, that are about 1k cheaper...but then i figure i might have to spend that money on repairs. but then again maybe not.

so yeah, i'm just trying to make this decision since it's basically all i can do to come up with that much.

i don't remember seeing whether or not you answered whether or not it goes through any oil? though i know you said it should be good with just maintenance for at least 3 years.
