well adding new speakers wont sound Totally better... you wont get the same amount of "bass" from the new ones as the stocks had, because stock speakers are made to perform better at low volumes with the stock amp and all that jazz.. but if you want the best sound, get some components and a 4 channel amp.. that will give you nice clean sound all around...but that will cost around 3 times what you are looking to spend, but is essentially(to me) the best route.. edit: http://www.thezeb.com/p-CDT-Audio-CL-61A-6...stem-101083.htm two sets of these would be awesome... and a nice 4 channel amp.. such at the JBL 80.4 or some other amp that does 75-150rmsx4 |

where are you buying this stuff from? that could give us the chance to give you more options, and what kind of cash do you have to spend? |

Performance Teknique is low grade crap... so expect poor results from them.. use the stock speaker wire, yes. it will work fine... its just common sense really.. take your time and think everything out. |

do you have components or after market speakers? and whats the ratings on them amps? there is no reason to buy two amps for two subs, that will just draw more current.... Comps are pretty good subs for the cash, so you are good to go there... definately go sealed... but yeah, need to know the ratings on them amps... the reason why i say go with that 500.5 is that if you have aftermarket speakers or components, it will really be nice for them speakers to shine since that amp should put out considerably more than your cd player... this will give you a better array of sound.. but if you just have stock speakers i wouldnt worry about it, unless you plan on replacing them asap. |

glueing the dustcap back on will not do anything... the dustcap is just there to cover up the voice coil... as long as the voice coil-surround-cone is intact the sub is fine... its probably the subwoofer itself, or it is wired wrong... again, the sub without a dustcap is fine, but it is in danger of being "hurt" more than the other sub since its gone and the voice coil is shown to all elements... EDIT: you said you hear a scraping noise when you push the sub down? that means the voice coils have came out of allignment, and this usually happens when being pushed to its extremes for a long period of time or being clipped very badly.... that sub is more than likely blown.. the next stage would be for it to seize up completely... |

ok.... why would you add a cap to a stock electrical system? all's it will do is cause more strain on your altenator... THINK!... what you need to do.... is get a better battery... like a Optima Yellow/Red Top... and if that doesnt help get a new high output altenator.. |

it doesnt look bad.. just dont go all out and paint whatever you can silver or whatever color... because too much of one color inside is ugly... im sure theres a few Celica's on here with painted interiors.. you could go through this forum Interior/Audio/Electrical/Wiring section and surely find pics and such... what paint did you use? |

the only way the amp will be 2ohm stable is if he bridges it... i was not talking about bridging the amp... i was talking about running the four speakers to each channel.... sorry if i didnt clarify... and hey... why are we being an a$shole pal? |

4 channel amps are not 2ohm stable, so..... anyway, your speakers will perform better, sound cleaner/clearer with more power that a HU will not offer... sure HU's can power speakers fine, but speakers sound better when getting the cleaner power an amp offers(if it isnt crap)... but its up to you... |

EQ would be a great addition to any car stereo... it will give it a nice well rounded sound that your cd player wont offer... id definately hit up the EQ idea. but thats just me..... EQ's to look at: Audio Control Kicker Memphis i'd hit up the Audio Control ones definately... best out i personally think. |

well find out the brand and the model number, ok so you have a component set almost... just missing the midbass driver.. anyway if it is just two channel then use it to power the front speakers.. and power the rest off the HU. |

although you dont NEED a 4 channel amp... its the best route to go i personally think when powering more than a pair of speakers/components.... get a 4 channel amp that does about 50rms each channel.... |

im guilty... i was with this chick for 2 years and she cheated on me, and we got back together(after alot of fighting and crap) and well it was just fighting everyday and stuff like that, so we were off and on off and on..etc.. and i slit both of my wrists pretty deep but was taken care of by friends' parents that were nurses little bit after doing so(wasnt even worth it, so dont think about doing it.. if you do, atleast suceed in killing yourself), anyway we got back together Again and she left me for a guy she was dating before and that pretty much just ended it for me, i told her that it wouldnt ever really work, maybe when we got much older and things like that... i dont really talk to her much or think about her that often but i still care for her and all... she was the only girl i really loved. but i am not sure i can say that now.. i love her as a friend but i dont think i love her a girlfriend.. some of you know what i mean i hope.... things are still messed up between us when we talk... best thing to do guys/gals... dont talk to em, call em.. or anything.. |

get the specific model number of the amp for one, other than that... Coustic makes pretty reputable amps.. http://www.avperfection.com/scripts/prodVi...p?idproduct=674 also if this is the amp.... it will not push a L7 sufficiently... so you can either buy the sub itself or both and sell the amp or use the amp for something else.. |
