I do agree it can be a pain and is definitely frustrating waiting for something to arrive. eBay used to be that way 15+ years ago, that's one reason they added so many restrictions and requirements now to eliminate that problem (even though it's a pain, as a seller). The majority of the other sites I visit have a rule for their buy/sell forum that you need to post your actual name, another way to contact you, and I think the most important: a picture of your username on a piece of paper with the part for sale. The reason being so that the part is obviously off the car and can be quickly shipped out. I do think it would be nice to see the 6gc buy/sell forum adopt the same policy. |

Here is my 2 cents. I've done transactions with Pittfirefighter in the past, have met him in person at Celica meets, and can tell you with a fair amount of confidence that he isn't out to screw anyone over. He, like me and most other people out there, have lives, families, and jobs - selling car parts isn't exactly priority #1. Maybe I read this wrong, since I haven't been following this thread and just skimmed over it, but threatening to open a dispute with Paypal for a refund after 2 1/2 weeks is almost comical. You paid with Paypal - you can file a dispute within 45 days of payment if you don't receive your item. That's 6 1/2 weeks. He said weeks ago he has two businesses, is out of town and hopes everyone has patience as he gets things shipped out. Quickly threatening for refunds with harassing PMs, texts, emails, etc is a good way to get a refund and no parts - because as a seller, dealing with people like that is simply annoying. Parting out a car takes time - and when you have limited time, it takes a while to get things shipped out, especially when you have 50 people wanting parts all at once, then lowballing you once you get the part off the car or asking if you can hold an item until a later date when they get paid, and then 40 of them asking when the part will ship, questions about other items, tracking number updates, etc. Have some patience. |

Yep, same wheel. This specific one was removed from a red 2005 S-Edition MR2 Spyder that was recently brought over from Japan. |

You sand it down to smooth it back out. You vary the grit just like you would with wood, to get it smooth again. When it's scuffed and the color is no longer matching the surrounding un-scuffed leather, it needs re-dyed to match. http://www.leatherique.com/do_it_your_self...ye_leather.html There's a good article on the process. Of course reupholstering it would make it like new again, but I doubt anyone buying a used steering wheel would bother with that expense. You can get these for just under $500 new on eBay, so it's not worth the cost to reupholster. A cheap kit to make it look presentable again would be the cheap way to have a pretty hard to come by wheel. And yes, I'm aware it's GTFO - I was typing from my cell phone at the time and had a typo, my apologies. |

I'm sorry but where do you see cracks? The red is scuffed, no cracking at all. You sand it with in varying grits and re-dye it. GTFU of my thread unless you know what you're talking about... If it was cracked I would have said that. |

Thought some of you guys here might be interested in this. I have a red leather steering wheel with red stitching from a Japan-only S-Edition MR2 Spyder. It's in fairly decent shape, but ideally the red leather could use a re-dye. Red dye kits are available on Amazon for cheap if interested. You'll need a 7th gen Celica/Rav4/MR2 airbag to work with this. Feel free to PM or email me at amcmoe @ gmail.com with a reasonable offer. $30 is not a reasonable offer. Send me an email and I can send you high-resolution pictures since I see Photobucket reduced their resolution limit... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Ricochet, you have a PM for the springs. To anyone who wants certain parts - I would much rather just sell this all as one package because I don't want to deal with shipping 20 small boxes for $5 items but if you want individual things, PM me your offer including shipping and I'll consider. |

You can probably pick these up at your local Toyota dealer cheaper than it would cost to have them shipped to you. They are part number 90950‑01800‑C0. Should be about $5 for two of them at Toyota. |

Cleaning out the garage and would like to get this box of random parts out of here. Fairly heavy box so I'll say $55 shipped for everything. Use what you want, keep the rest for spares or sell it, I don't really care. ![]() Included will be a Haynes repair manual (not pictured), seat belts, like-new brake pads, brand new fuel filter, gauge cluster, front speaker (pretty sure I have both front speakers, I'll look) rear strut covers for the hatch, factory cassette player, "pocket" that fills a single-din space, stock shifter, factory amp, both tweeter covers that are missing the tabs (only 1 is pictured), seat plastics, windshield wiper switch and harness, RHD wiper/turn signal switches and clock spring, various bolts, and some other various parts. I'll throw in more stuff as I find it...I want it all out of here. ![]() |

I'm going to be chopping up the black '94 GT to get it out of my garage within the next month. I have a bunch of parts left from it, and will be throwing everything away that isn't claimed before then. Come take anything/everything and use what you can or sell the rest. I have 2 hatches (one white and one black) with glass and spoilers, black pre-facelift front bumper, lots of interior parts, steering rack, front brakes, steering wheel, both air bags and sensors, radiator core support, sun roof assembly, all cruise control components, all 4 seat belts, etc. Lots more stuff that I can't think of off the top of my head. Don't waste my time scheduling a time to come by and then take just the speaker covers or a single interior plastic...if you're coming, I'm sending you on your way with at least a box full of stuff. I don't care if you resell 99% of the parts you take, I don't have time and would simply like the garage space back. I'm also not interested in shipping anything else. This is local pick-up only. Send me a PM for my address if you want to come get some/all the parts. I'm located about 5 minutes from Carlisle, PA. Easy to get to from I-81, 83, 15 or the turnpike. If you're still planning to PM me about shipping something, then send it in an email instead or I will just delete your PM. I don't have time to deal with 30 people asking about shipping quotes on parts that 29 of them will never end up paying for. My email address is in my profile. |

That black tube between your AC compressor and the alternator is your thermostat housing...99.9% sure your gasket is leaking. Easy fix. Use plyers to pop off the coolant hose going to the thermostat housing, remove those two (10mm?) bolts off of it, pull it and the thermostat out (be prepared for more coolant to pour out), scrape old gasket off, replace with new gasket and you might as well change thermostat as well if you haven't recently. As for the oil leak....hard to tell from that picture. Does the engine head appear to have an oil residue "trail" from somewhere else? The valve cover doesn't typically start a leak up there in the front and I see no oil residue coming from it. The oil pressure sensor is right there, but it doesn't LOOK like that's leaking either. Edit: I mean use plyers to pop off the spring clamp on the hose...then pull the hose off, of course. |

I've bought quite a few sets of DDM Tuning HID kits in the past for some friends and two sets for myself (both used in projectors) - which are cheap - and never had an issue with any of them. You should get a relay harness to run them too...that might fix the issues you're currently having. HID's when they are first turned on use more amperage at start-up than halogens, even though they are 35w compared to the 55w halogen lights, the current draw in the first few seconds of start-up is considerably more and the wire gauge probably isn't enough to carry the current the HID's require, which is where the relay harness comes into play. Like Stephen said, it could also be a ground issue. Amazon has some relay harnesses for a good price. Either way it wouldn't be a bad idea to run a relay harness either with your current ones to see if it fixes the problem, or on a new set of HID's. |

About 375rpm drop at 70mph with stock size tires. Calculated it'll be ~3008rpm with the S51/S54 hybrid instead of ~3374 with the S54 using a calculator from http://www.snoman.com/HTML/axlecalc_5a.html |

Using the same gearing calculator mentioned in the link I posted earlier, I made a chart and overlaid the two (using the S54's 4.176 final drive) in order to show you the how the gearing would look if you were to swap an S51 5th gear into your S54 transmission (with the stock tire size) Here is the S54: ![]() Here is the S51: ![]() S51 5th gearset in the S54: ![]() Overlaid comparison of 5th gears in the S54: ![]() Edited to clarify final drive used. |

I considered swapping 5th gear in my s54 a few years ago. Watch Craigslist (using searchtempest.com) for wrecked Camry's being parted out. Ones with front end damage are best because if the bellhousing is broken, you'll most likely get the trans for next to nothing. You'll find this link helpful. http://www.mr2.com/forums/v6-owners-group/...s-pics-too.html Make sure you read post #10 and post #13 to clarify which years Camry you want to be searching for. |
