Get in touch with KinwayTRD on www.celica-club.co.uk, he is based in Hong Kong and got me TRD short shifter (which by definition comes with TRD knob) at a good price.

Stock side skirts sit in my garage waiting to be painted.
Also, C-One front bumper replica arrived and ... it turned out that it is one for ST20x, excl. 5. So either I will fix my C-One lip or buy TRD front extensions. Most probably the first option as I like C-One styling very much. Maybe when fixing, I can get sides of the lip to be reshaped to match exactly curves on side skirts.

After that I will look into power again. Seems to me that HKS stroker kit would be the optimum step. Higher displacement, forged pistons and rods: just add stronger ARP screws, some more boost and I should not drive fast but just fly low. wink.gif

All the best to all Celica (and non-Celica) drivers: Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Let the roads be flat and wide, speed limits withdrawn, policemen understanding and gasoline cheap.

Short update - I killed the brakes on last track day meeting (it was worth though - I made best lap time, no one beat me). Discs were so busted that I had rumble on the steering wheel when accelerating and earthquake when braking. So more money had to be spent.
EBC Turbo Groove discs were installed in front while EBC Red Stuff pads all over. Now it is smooth like a silk. Still, breaks like hammer. ;-)

QUOTE (lagos @ Nov 8, 2008 - 1:09 AM) *
Does Warsaw have a big Celica scene?
I was actually born there, and always wondered if the car was well known in Poland.

Quite big, I see at least one on the streets everyday (not the same one!). When we have our local meeting typically there are 5-10 cars.
There are ~20 Celica-Club Poland members in Warsaw and I would say three times as many that are registered and use our forum but did not join the club.

The car was well known - 5g and 6g. These were main rally cars that were succesful here.

And finally, concerning the meeting - it will not work, I had to cancel my trip to NY. Still, I should be there sometime in spring. I will let you know then.

Wow, I have feedback. Good. Once I know what time I will be in NY on that day (rather evening) I will let you know and we can set up something.
I would rather look into meeting somewhere in Manhattan, having a coke and talking as will be after 9 hours of flight across the pond.

I will get back to you as soon as there is info to share.

Thanks.

Last 12 months I have been to NY and I have not seen a single Celica. I think it is time to change it.
Most probably I will attend a conference in NY on Dec 1st, flying there on Nov 30th.
I should arrive in the evening but still would be able to meet few of you if possible.

Let me know what you think. I would be staying in Manhattan, most probably somewhere around 5th Ave and 4x-5x Street.

It has been a year already since I last wrote something here. Too bad but high time for update.
So, power-up plans did not materialise due to number of obstacles (new job mainly).
In the meantime, I have managed to bust my suspension: D2 Coilovers + Super Strut Suspension + Polish roads = wreck.
Also, I was unfortunate with my bodykit: front lip got damaged first, left side skirt second.

The status as of now is: SSS and D2 are out, McPhersons with Bilstein (front) and KYB (rear) shocks are in.
Using the opportunity of car being in a workshop while waiting for suspension parts the exhaust was changed to full 3" (before that the front pipe was only 2.5").
Front lip and skirts are out as well, C-One front bumper should be on its way to me while I am looking for stock 96+ skirts to be installed.
Once things are in place, I will post pics. Right now Celi looks too naked to be exposed. wink.gif

Croatia is fine for Celica Club Poland. In summer 2006 I was on holidays on island Krk which is close to Rijeka. Beautiful country, very friendly people, excellent sea fruits.

Done. Sold....

New owner will register up on this site, and i HOPE he will take the best care of my baby...

Today i got the Deposit money, and after 24day of this month - another unique celica will be seen on Warsaw roads...

I'm heartbroken... On the other hand, it'll be good to see your SS-III on the streets here.

Good luck with the Legacy, for sure it'll be worth seeing it here when you get it.

With this pic you've just convinced me to go with white interior. I will just leave plastics around steering wheel and gauges as they are. The rest will go Snow White.

none of those will give you more power. instead of building up the motor, you should look into meth injection. that would be a cheap way to run more boost, on the motor setup that you already have! smile.gif

No more power with boost at 22 psi? I know that 16 psi is max for stock 3S-GTE and that's what I'm running on now.
What do you mean by meth?

Small update: 3" downpipe and Apexi AVC-R were installed. It's lovely to launch the GT4 without boost-cut on the 1st gear.

Shopping list for next stage is ready:
- new gasket
- forged pistons and rods
- light flywheel
- Stage 2 clutch
- ARP header bolts
- 255 lph fuel pump and pressure regulator already sit in my garage

I will see how much it will improve the power (with increased boost, of course). If not enough, I will need to go with better turbocharger.

re-calibrate it, not too hard IMO, better than driving 10kms off.

Any idea how to do that?

Be aware that TRD speedo is not perfect - mine is showing 140 km/h when I drive 130 km/h. In general it's showing more less +10% to actual speed.

All the thanks from Celica-Club Poland - we had loads of fun on- and off- track. It was my third but definitely not last visit to Italy. Great people, great weather, great cars - what more could one want to be happy?

Anyone noticed when I f#$%^d up my brakes? rolleyes.gif

QUOTE(punkuup5150 @ Jun 26, 2007 - 5:19 PM)

ive been looking into coilover for a while but i have been told i need a camer kit to stop my tires from wearing out on the inner edge alot quicker since lowering on most cars cambers the wheels so u ride on the inside of the rubber. do celis need a camber kit and if so where can i find them and if they dont how do u fix the camber so u use all of the rubber on your tires?

Correct me if I'm wrong - D2 has the front regulated (as in the pics) and this works as camberplates. So nothing more needed.
