QUOTE (Tigawoods @ May 22, 2016 - 4:07 PM) *
well I had an idea yesterday and today I went out to work on that idea.

picked up a pair of hubs from the junkyard.
Originally I came across the perfect donor, a 1997 V6 Camry but one of the hubs had some broken splines.
I then found a 01 or 03 Solara. Now i didnt really do any research other than visually comparing it to the Camry hub, but there is only so much I can see with the hub pressed in. I will find out if it works this weekend. I did bring along one of my spacers and could confirm that is is 5x114.3 and the hub bore was 60.1
Anyways.

And the reason for all of this...the proper stud bore size.

woohoo!

knocked out the battery relocation on Saturday. It was literally an 8am to 5pm job haha
Started the car this afternoon and it cranks over faster than the stock location!

I picked up a hydraulic crimper and BOY is that thing handy

finished off with some glue lined heatshrink

master cut off

since I dont have any important things going on behind the front seats I didnt find it necessary to tuck the cable much

I quickly came to the realization that quick solder terminals are THE WORST

cool wires I got to use

next weekend is going to be spent making a small relay panel that I will mount in the glovebox....and after that...racepak smile.gif

thumbsup.gif now let's do mine!

Haha, now you know i have the Rays Gram Lights 57c's. But... I am absolutely in the market for something better! Looking forward to a cruise soon.

Thats right!!
I was trying to find the pics you sent me but I think that was well before the barrage of brake pics we were trading for that little while.
I just looked up some pics of the 57c's. Its so weird to me to see a 5 spoke wheel for some reason. Seems empty. It almost looked like those 3 spoke super advan wheels haha. For some reason my brain has made the 6 spoke (te37s) the new standard. I guess its too late for you since you are doing the swap, but the 17x9 +35/38 57DR's are going for around 1500-1800 new.
We should use the winter to coordinate our spring and summer events.

Back by the car now for the weekend.
Finishing up the catch cans

Removing the front hubs to prep them for the 5x114 swap.
Removing the front coilovers so that the T3 caster hats can be adapted to the Teins
Removing the speed sensor to be replaced....because I cant figure whats wrong with the speedo and thats the one thing I havent touched
Coolant flush because its a lil orange. Which is unfortunate after the crazy flush I did when I put the motor in (that chocolate milk tho) maybe I can add some flush additive

I agree on the open space, I have some ideas i'm tossing around. And yes, we will use the winter to coordinate.

Now back to your build... let me know if you need any additional info on the 5x114, or any help in general.

I got the hang of shifting fairly quickly. The only thing that really threw me off was the fact that the blinkers and windshield wiper controls are switched haha

^this.

I remember the struggle. Congrats on the latest pick up!

Quick question guys. I don't have the rear mount bracket for the e153 that I'm putting in my car. I need to find out if the MR2 e153 rear bracket will work or if I need to find one from an e154f. Any input would be super helpful. I need to buy this thing sooner than later.

e154f for rear mount/bracket.

The gt4 rotor has a hat height of 1.129 inches. To that substract a small recess portion of 0.048 and the face thickness of 0.249. You get aprox offset of 0.832 inches .

0.77 inches of offset is close to that and might even pull away disc little away from ball joint. Im waiting on Mike to measure the supra hat. But again, im not 100 positive. But this hat is already 5x 100. Application. Hub may be a little wide. Not by much. Maybe 0.141 inches

Very interesting.

EDIT: My only concern that matching the gt4 rotor specs would still require shaving of the caliper's mounting points.

Ok. To add more fuel to drama. I have found rotors very close to spec. For the scion frs. I have been looking on phone so i may have missed some stuff.

http://www.fr-sforum.com/forums/targa-newf...920/topics/8058

Some pics to summariZe

It comes as a kit. Wonder if rotors can be sold

This is where i get lost.

It states 299 mm with 32 mm diameter and 5x100.

Wonder if sold separately and if they are centered for the gt4 caliper

I think i found the hat needed for the job. Wilwood part 170- 8324. May have right offset or very close to needed.

Tell me more!
