I'll bet you missed a ground somewhere and the fan is pulling too much power through a ground and the ECM is dropping below running voltage. Double check all your grounds and double up the ECM grounds to a good body ground. I've seen this issue on other kinds of cars with rotten ground wires, some high amp device comes on and other things stop working.

Replaced main ground last night. Connected to tranny and radiator support like stock.
Have one ground from alternator bracket to strut mount. Never touched the one behind manifold

Also checked all 4 ecu grounds with volt meter, they're working fine

Usdm 95 celica Gt.
Just finished a 3rd gen 3sgte swap and ran the top mount intercooler along with st205 pump and heat exchanger. Did the wiring myself. Cut hole in firewall for harness.

For some reason, when the car reaches operating temperature and the fans kick on, the ecu will lose power and the car shuts off. It doesnt bog down, it just shuts off as if i killed the ignition.
When i put the key to the "on" position, the check engine light wont show and i cant start the car.
Once the fans turn off, the check engine light comes back on and i can start the car again until this issue happens again.

I have no clue on how to remedy this issue. Replaced alternator. Switched ecu. Unplugged different coolant temp sensors. Unplugged fan relays. Unplugged main relay. Checked all wiring multiple times. Even if the fans themselves are unplugged the ecu still loses power momentarily.
I did everything right yet this keeps happening. Please help

Does anyone have the part numbers for the hoses that go from the intercooler pump to the heat exchanger?
My engine came with the main soft and hard lines that come off the intercooler itself, but when i bought my heat exchanger and pump they came with nothing.
The top water port on the heat exchanger requires a very sharp 90° angle that i do not want to try to replicate with heater hose from autozone, seeing as it might kink

For the rear brake rotors, I was looking at the WRX (G3) up to 2007, there are some difference from the height, but maybe can do something

DBA 2663 WRX
Specifications
Diameter 290
Height 64
Thickness 18
Min Thickness 16
C/Hole 58
Bolt holes 5 X 100 PCD

CELICA
Vent Vented
Diameter 315
Height 59
Thickness 16
Min Thickness 15
Centre Hole Dia 55
Bolt Holes 5

There are just 5mm of difference on the height and a minor difference on the thicknes. Anyone has tested this?

WRX from 2009 and up, rear brake rotors have a 64mm of height vs 59mm of the Celica ones, maybe there could be an option

Can someone check to see if this will work? Seems pretty legit

My speedometer is a dud (already replaced tranny VSS to no results)
i would preferably just buy the speedometer unit itself rather than an entire gauge cluster to keep costs low, but if you have an entire cluster for a good price lmk.

Which one will bring me too 250-300 hp cheapest?

Turbo beams but not worth it. For that money just learn to love stick shift.

Just do 3sge beams swap. Simplest and cheapest way. You'll spend between 1000 and 1500 for all the parts you need. Everything bolts up, it actually came in the 6gc. You only have to alter 4 or 5 wires i think?
Itll feel twice as fast as your 7a.

**Edit: also you could turbo your 7a. Auto with a baby turbo = super fast spool and no turbo lag.**

When my air conditioning is on i hear a low hissing noise from behind my glovebox. Doesnt sound like anything is leaking but the noise is intermittent.
Could something be loose? I doubt the evaporator could have gotten punctured but idk.
any advice?

I don't think that the 3sgte fuel rail will bolt to the 5s head, and you can't use 3sgte injectors in a 5s rail because they are side feed. This is why people recommend rx7 injectors.

Save your money on the map sensor and safc, and buy a DIYPNP megasquirt kit for $500 to run the car. Without it you are going to be running way too much ignition advance and will blow the motor sooner or later.

Already have 2nd and 3rd gen map sensors and an safc at my disposal, thats the only reason i considered doing a 5sfte.

Since im buying a 3sgte in 2 weeks and already have all the required parts to swap it in, i figured i might as well turbo the 5s until it blows. I dont need/want it to last long, i just want to have fun with it before i take it out. I mentioned that already. i would only consider spending another 200 to do it, which would pay for injectors.
when i get the 3s i might throw the turbo and map sensor on my 5s and drive it for a day until it blows. If i do this i will document everything

For $750 more, people can get an entire 3rd gen 3sgte with tranny and Extras. you should consider lowering price

The MAP sensor on the 2nd gen is for the OEM boost gauge only. It's not part of the main fueling of the ECU. So, arguing about this is pointless on the OP subject.

Sam

Is it pointless? Yes it was. but i was just defending the fact that the gen 2 engines have it after the guy thought i had no idea what i was talking about.
And regardless what it was used for on the gen 2 engine, all 90s toyota map sensors work the same. The just send out a 5 volt signal. Its up to the ecu to decide what to do with the signal. On gen 2 engines it just cuts fuel. On gen 3 and 4, it is responsible for quite a lot.

easy answer, no. long answer yes but you have to add a resistor pack. 3S-GTE injectors are low impedance, 5S-FE are high. you are better off using 7M-GE green or yellow injectors.

or you can use RX-7 460 injectors.

I have a 3rd gen 3s resistor pack. Any idea how i could wire it in?

Also would these injectors be a good buy? 440cc high impedance

I have a 95 GT and over the past 2 years ive acquired quite a few Things, enough to turbo the 5sfe.
my question is, could i used 2nd gen 3sgte injectors to do this? I have the fuel rail and stock fpr also.

Other things i have are map sensors (both 2nd gen and 3rd) intercooler, piping, downpipe, boost and oil pressure gauges, about to order a manifold and i access to an safc if necessary (or could buy emanage) i recently sold the ct26 turbo i had but can always pick another one up if i can use the injectors. Dont wanna spend too much money because i plan on buying a 3rd gen 3s very soon. But if i can turbo the 5s with the stuff i already have then hey i may as well do it. If it blows up then idc, im buying a 3s anyways. If it runs good then ill just run the 5sfte til it blows or i get tired of it.

Why do all that to a 2nd 3sgte when you can just buy a 2nd gen NA jdm engine that shares 99% of all the US parts?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/JDM-TOYOTA-CELICA-...c49&vxp=mtr

I remember back in the day with bolt on's people would have their 2nd gen NA in the mid 140 whp. Or you can sources a 1st gen 3sge head and slap it on a 5sfe block. There is a lot more viable options NA than taking a 3sgte and taking the turbo off of it, just my 2 cents.

One upside to getting the 3sgte is that he could sell off all the turbo stuff and almost make all his money back. that money could go towards high compression pistons and a megasquirt.
