oh yeah forgot to calculate in weight of the rim.. but that's why you buy a nice lighter rim.. plus how much difference can it make.. here's a nifty tool Tire size comparison calculator |

if you have a 14" rim but have a 65 tires on there.. it comes out to the same size as a 15" rim with a 55 tire .. in gas mileage and speed. well pretty damn close.. you have to look @ the overall size of the tire and the wheel combined.. a small rim with big tires.. will be the same as a big rim with small tires.. the only thing that would change would be ride quality.. 195/70/14.. that's a big tire so.. BLAH!! -Chris |

you can rent a spring compressor from autozone.. just make a deposit of 50 bucks and then bring em back and get a full refund.. i think you get stuck with the taxes.. but still that's only like 3-4 bucks that's what i did... helps because the stock springs are kinda stiff and you need to compress the springs to get the bolt off the top.. you know instead of one person holding it down.. the other loosening this.. etc etc.. make it easier on yourself -Chris |

well i've ordered my rims.. 18"x8"posted this poll and didn't even go along with what people picked.. anyways i ordered the silver ones.. NTO3-M.. figured the black ones are just a fad and will fade away.. but also like how the light silver stands out on a black car.. so they are on their way.. being delivered.. cost me a pretty penny... but they'll be well worth it.. also ordered yokohama 235/40/18 tires to go with I'll post a picture of them on my car when i get'em -Chris |

QUOTE(celicaST @ Sep 18, 2005 - 9:04 PM) nice! im should be getting my sportlines soon they are fairly easy to install as long as you have a air tool to loose the back bolts.. i did the front myself and then realized that i couldn't get the back bolts off.. there is a DIY thread.. on this site somewhere.. total installation quote i got from a couple local shops.. $80.. -Chris.. something to think about |

i have tein s-techs.. the height is perfect for what i wanted..The eibachs offer more of a drop (i believe).. so i think if it is your daily driver then you might want something a little heigher and therefore probably with a more smooth ride.. but a lower car on some nice wheels does look sweet i think i also noticed that the tein were cheaper in cost compared to the eibach's.. the ride isn't bad not bumpy or stiff.. i do need new shocks though.. so no matter which of the two you choose.. change your shocks & struts.. So the real questions are.. how low do you want to go?.. how much do you want to spend.. and are you going more for looks or ride quality -Chris Post Edited* IMO anything is better than stock!!! |

volks are nice.. but +48 offset.. probably wont look good on our car.. I think it really depends on the style you're going for.. going for name brand or the look.. because there are thousands of options in rims -Chris (just bought some enkei NTO3+M 18x8" +35 with yokohama 235/40/18 tires).. woot |

taking off the stock toyota emblems (the toyota symbols.. on front and back of car) and putting them back on.. i know there are two pins.. I was just wondering how hard it would be to remove the toyota symbol and but it back on?... and what i should use to put it back on and keep it on I want to take them off and then paint them black or a dark grey and put em back on -Chris I saw a black car that had powercoated(or somehow painted dark) emblems on it.. looks sweet because you don't have this chrome looking thing standing out on your car...Has anybody done this to their car?.. or maybe it just isnt worth all the trouble.. but anyways.. I think it sould look sweet |

i sure hope so.. because i just ordered my 18x8" rims.. and i have tein s-tech springs.. -Chris I personally spoke with someone that works @ enkei Japan.. and they said that the best ride for the 99 celica would be with the 8" wide rims |

pay the extra $50 bucks or so.. sit through a traffic school class.. 8 hrs on saturday.. you watch goofy and some other lame videos and talk about how stupid people can be.. and listen to some of the stories of how people ran into buses etc... and why they are there... funny ****.. just a waste of 8 hrs.. but point doesn't go on your record and insurance stays the same.. and you can take the class again in 18 months... that's what i've had to do.. -Chris taking traffic school again in two weeks |

(reef/fishtank website) reefcentral member galleries not sure if we already have this available here.. -Chris |
