If you want a drivable every day car, I`d go for either a clutchmaster FX300 or RPS ProStreet rated to 450ft/llbs torque...organic clutches that are drivable and mare than capable of handling many launches. |

Sorry, been busy over the past few weeks, but its nearly done, nothing welded yet (hence the tape) but everything is cut to size and shaped. Had the final fitting yesterday with the brackets that I made in place to support the chargecooler off the engine a little. First fit....looking a little unlikely that the bonnet will close ![]() but it did ![]() The water inlet/outlet end tanks ![]() it does stick up kinda high ![]() but theres a good gap to help keep it away from the hot bits of the engine ![]() the rear end tank was a PITA to make, as its all twisted to make everything line up correctly and to make enough clearance for the various bits n pices in the engine bay ![]() |

So, in essence its another made up name like the ct20b. I've yet to see any TOYOTA documents that have a name for that turbo. Also, the naming scheme that company posted is kind of odd. They have the st185 listed as c3 and the st205 listed as c2? Its strange because you would think the part numbers would be sequential with the st185 being c2 and the 205 being c3. Hmmm never noticed that...aaah well...just stick with the good old ct20b then. |

I dont know where it came from to be honest, but the initial information came from one of the most knowledgable blokes on the GT4 Owners club so I have no doubt that it is 100% correct...but believe it or not its entirely up to everyone who reads this I guess..I dont expect that I`ll change the way people think or what people call the ct26b /ct26c2.....take it or leave it, its entirely up to you ![]() found this link http://www.turbo-product.com/Toyota/ |

so this turbo is a jdm ct26c2? Its a normal ct26 from a jdm st185. Its not a ct20b or ct26c2 (where did this name come from?). The ct26c2 is the correct name for the st205 turbo which has become known incorrectly as a ct20b. Where did you hear that term from? Ive never once seen it in any of toyotas documents. Btw, can we just keep calling it the ct20b? Everyone knows what that is, and it creates less confusion. ![]() |

ST205 turbo ct26c2 ?????? Excuse me - what? You guys got more than one option too? The st205 comes with either a ceramic turbo (JDM ST205) or a steel turbo (UK WRC) but as far as I know they are both called CT26c2. There is no such turbo as a ct20b...I dont know where this originated from and it has spread world wide onto forums, suppliers etc as a generic name for an st205 turbo, but it is incorrect...if you check with toyota you`ll see the turbo designated the ct26c2. |

two pairs of leather gloves, one to wear and one to hold the metal with and you'll be good to go ![]() That would be a good start...bending the metal hot isnt a problem...I just use tools to hold it with...the problem is I keep forgetting that the metal is very hot...and stays very hot for a good long while....when its all bent into shape I think..."Right...just put these bits together to make sure its all the right size/shape etc" pick the bit of metal up....unfortunately its usually with my bare hands.....the resulting "TSSSSSSSSSSSS" sound as my skin sears itself to the metal and the following "AAAaaaaaargh" in pain still dosnt appear to be enough from stopping me doing exactly the same thing ten mins later....you`d think I`d learn wouldnt you...but no....my brain appears to be missing the part required to remember that metal stays hot for more than 20 seconds. Havnt done much this weekend...been at the Toyota Sprint Series, but I`m gonna get my arse into gear this week and try and get the fabrication completed up to the point where I`ll be ready to form the inlet and outlet pipes, but this needs to be done on the car to make sure everything is a perfect fit. a pair of welding gloves should help you out with that ![]() So would half a brain...I appear to be missing both ![]() QUOTE my brain appears to be missing the part required to remember that metal stays hot for more than 20 seconds. WOOT. now i know im not the only one. just FYI, it also stays hot for a good bit after welding as well! BWAHAHAHAHa Excellent...more oportunities for me to burn myself....I cant wait ![]() |
