Seeing as you tucked some wires I would think that there is a fault in there somewhere, you shouldn't be blowing fuses like that just from doing basic maintenance. I would just re trace your wiring and double check your work. while its not blowing fuses now, there were a few questionable wires under the fuse box in the bay. im going in now to check those. |

ok, waterpump gasket turned into replacement of ALL engine gaskets and a thorough cleaning or the bay and the tucking of a few wires, and relocation of one out of place power steering fluid tank... rebuild went slow and steady, and then came the time to crank. *Ffffffppppppptttttttt* Fauq. Spins, but no vroom. i then went in and checked time a whatnot and went back in. now, obviously i was orginally getting crank, and i then i blew a whole row of fuses when arcing alternator (fauq) replaced every fuse and maxxi fuse and im at the point now that i get main power. turn signals work, a couple dash lights come on no door chime no radio no windows...no fuel no crank.... nothing like that...now, i did bypass the alternator fuse, but it has a good connection.. there is a 3d27 fuse that might be blown but i can tell though to be sure.... they have that opaque casing, but there is discoloration at the base, so im thinking kicked.... or i cooked the pcm/ecu ![]() ![]() directions? ideas? help? |

already started the tear down and im taking my time... as far as reasssembly goes, should i be using these sketchy paper gaskets? or would it be wiser to use a solid bead of rtv or high temp silicone gasket maker? and, im on the fence about replacing my oil pump as well, seeing as im in there... i already have replacement seals, and gaskets.... i feel like it would be silly not to replace the pump as well.... any tips or pointers are appreciated. thanks guys. |

My wheels are +40 offset and i just installed 25mm lug centric spacers in the rear. Looks pretty flush. Feels much more stable on the road already. Would 20s in front seal the deal? (Kind of an opinion based question, but i figure a bump is in order anyway ![]() |

Oh thank you! I was completely stumped. Not many people know these subtle differences. So only receptacles from 94 and 95 will work? What about cross compatibility? Or are things like seatbelts unique to the model? Seatbelt components for Celicas are fairly scarce here in the states. (So is everything else. lol) |

Ok, i have a 94 gt that came with leather seats. They were junk, so i sourced a cloth set out of a 95 anniversary edition (the floor mats i got with the seats are 25th anniversary, so i am to believe that the car was an anniversary edition as well, but i could be wrong.) I installed the seats and tossed the old ones assuming that everything would be fine seeing as i was going oem to oem. Well, after getting the car on the road, and actually trying to use the seatbelts, i realized was horribly wrong. The seat belt buckle itself (the piece that clips into the receptacle) on the car is too short to clip into the receptacles bolted to the seats. So my question is: what year/trim buckle receptacles do i need to source to fix this problem? Thanks guys. |

Maybe some one can help me? im planning on doing a 2nd gen swap into my st204.(found one dumb cheap) Does anyone have a link to the necessary info? (Such as: ecu, harness, axles, clutch/flywheel combo needed?) I want to bolt it up to the 5sfe tranny and roll with it... (unless there's some viable, low-budget, option.) |

For the price of the motor, and the fact it's semi-local, i can't pass it up. Im aware of the 3rd gens having more power, but I'm not in a competition. I've been looking to own a boosted vehicle for quite some time, and the reliability of the 3sgte is legendary. After factoring in rebuild costs, This might just be perfect. |

I have the chance to m jump on a rebuildable 2nd gen 3sgte super cheap. Its going to need a piston at the least. But my question, is it a practical project to take on? Will it swap in with a custom harness? Or would i need a saem to run it? It would be going into a 94 gt. Any info or recommendations would be great. Thanks guys |

Im prepared to battle these gremlins of car design past... i accept my challenges that lay ahead... ![]() Besides that, i have too much time and effort invested to get discouraged now. Ill have a torch, a vice, impacts, a press... Heck, i got that broken motor mount bolt out of my block with a Chinese drill and some easy outs in my apt parking lot... sure, it involved treating down the whole front end, removing my a/c completely, and some busted knuckles... But, i got it done... Challenges be dammed. Im completely focused on the "having polys installed" part of all this... =) |

Yeah, my car has been a consistent pia thus far. So ive learned to be prepared for almost anything. There's also the benefit of having a lift at a garage with an arsenal of snap-on tools i can "borrow" on a weekend... (Not all the time of course, but for this task... definitely calling in a favor... or two.) I NEED to replace these bushings. My rear is so bad the wheels are cambered in at stock ride height... besides that, every time i hit a little bump in the road it sounds like a dead hooker bouncing around back there as i shimmy all over the lane Im in... Its pretty bad... Which were the problem bolts? In the front control arms? |

Ordered my poly front and rears from Pawel yesterday! Thanks to this thread, i heard all i needed to justify pulling the trigger on this upgrade. Suspension is still debatable, but the polys are for sure. Awesome celicas btw! |

So, I've been tinkering with my st204 for about a year now and its almost road worthy.... Whats next you might ask? 3sgte swap of course! So, I'm posting this ad now. Does anyone have a source or info of where i could dig one of these up in the tri state area? Being in pittsburgh, toy parts are kinda tricky to come across as we're overrun with Honduhs and rustangs... Now, i like Hondas and mustangs about as much as someone who doesn't own EITHER can... but, its kinda difficult finding a toyota community to get with for parts, information, and commeradery... Anybody who can point me in a right direction would be super appreciated. Thanks guys. |

Ok, my project is sitting outside with an engine and radiator full of questionable coolant/water mix, and its dropping to -12 degrees Fahrenheit tomorrow. My question... If my coolant water mix is crap (even worse, straight water) Is my engine doomed to leak everything come when i fire it up in the spring? I figure i d ask before i run out side and drain the coolant system in a last ditch effort to save my project... because if it hasn't frozen over yet, it would tomorrow... any input would be awesome. Thanks. |

Well, I'm deep into my celica rebuild and I'm at the suspension finally. After taking it for a couple test drives i I've noticed it to be super bouncy and floaty which had me looking for new struts and springs. But upon further research I've found thats its probably the bushings from 1994 that are the main reason for the unpredictable ride. Ive been trolling the internet far and wide for bushing replacement options. And i haven't turned up much. What are some options for replacing the bushings in an st204? |

OOk, a few things happened lately, 1 Got my ebrake fixed. (not gonna bore anyone with that P.I.A story ) 2 my engine Bay is now at "acceptable" cleanliness levels ![]() ![]() 3 received and installed the LED kit from neogauges. Soo worth the wait from Australia! It really is a Night and say difference. ![]() ![]() She's almost to the point that I can justify knocking out some body work, and spray her one color. Suspension is a priority, but only after I give her some proper oil pan, valve cover, and distributor cap gaskets. *sigh* Im excited to see how these cars drive in proper, functioning order. ![]() ...and with some wheel spacers too, probably . |

Okay, I have 18x8s with I think +35.. I want to get 235 40s mounted. What size spacers do I need to center my wheels to get these tires to fit? The fronts fit with rub only at full lock. But my rears hit my strut. Any suggestions on spacers that could make this work? |

Very frustrating read. Reading through your dialogue, I started getting anxious myself... Some sellers are very shady. However in my experience, its never been over as large of an amount that Jdm visors would cost... Good luck. I hope you get your money soon |

from an engineering standpoint, toyota really outdid themselves... im shocked as to how well these hold up over years of sustained abuse. made back when import manufacturers were trying to prove something... st204=soldier lol |
