Today was a sad say as I handed over the keys to my Celica and watched it drive off. I have owned mine for around 4 years and it has been amazing, taught me and so many people to drive manual, put a smile on so many peoples faces and did it all without every having any major mechanical issues. I decided though to move it on while it was still running well and since I got a great offer on it and thought I would try something new and different.

Thank you to everyone on this forum (and the authors of the how to posts and guide). 90% of the information I learned was from here and you guys helped me to fix and upgrade so many things and make my car exactly what I wanted and truly unique. Ill probably still lurk around a but but will spend most of my time over on a new forum for my new car (when I get one laugh.gif ). For now peace out and I will leave you with the last picture I took.

Hey guys

Decided to change my oil and filter today. When I went to remove the sump plug I managed to get it going but it will not come out at all it is just spinning now. I have done some research and found its likely the nut inside the sump that has come undone so I was wondering if anyone has replaced the sump on a 3S-GE and is it a easy enough task. From first inspection it doesn't look that simple. Also any tips on maybe getting the sump plug out would be fantastic

I have found some of the metal kick panels out of a ST202 (http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=855771127) and was wondering if anyone has put these into a ST202. They look very similar and I assume they would but just checking before I buy them

Hey guys

I have noticed recently while having my car loaded up and pushing it a bit harder and asking more of my brakes that they don't feel as strong as I would like and I have to put a lot of force onto them to slow the car down. I have recently replaced the front disks and pads and it hasn't had a huge impact. They are still good and work fine but I would like them to feel a bit stronger under foot. I was looking into replacing the hoses with braided lines but was wondering if you guys had any other ideas.

interior lights are something that is cheap and easy and can make the interior look much better. I started with changing all the speedo cluster bulbs from the horrible stock green to a bright blue and it made it look so much nicer. For a few bucks you can learn alot and its pretty simple smile.gif

I wouldn't think you would have to change much if anything. From the looks of it as long as it can pass standard tests like warrant of fitness and emissions tests it should be ok. If you have anything that would need a cert (different seats, coilovers, major engine modifications etc..) you might need to get them certed once here as it won't pass the wof if they are not.

Maybe the best thing is to call the NZTA and just ask them what you would need to do that way there is no surprises when you get it here smile.gif

so tried tape then screws and managed to get a far better fitment. Still not perfect because they are copys but this is probably as good as I can do. The screw holes didn't line up very well but with abit of fiddling and starting some screws on an angle I got them all in. Would defiantly recommend doing it this way to anyone with a similar issue smile.gif

QUOTE (presure2 @ Oct 3, 2013 - 5:01 PM) *
i have crappy copies as well, and what i always did was use 3m double sided tape on that top edge first, then install the screw in the wheelwell, and i added a small self tapping screw to the very end where it wraps around the bumper on the very bottom where its really hard to see the screw, and just hid it with a bit of touch up paint.

Might give that a try. I did try use tape but i put the screws in first so ill try tape then screws. I have also used a screw at the end but ill try this out and let you know how it works smile.gif

So I picked up some TRD rear splitters (copies im pretty sure not the real things) and repainted them to Super White but like alot of the rear splitters they dont seem to fit very well. It seems its either have it close to the body with the end sticking out or the end in line with the top sitting about 1cm away from the rear bumper. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on how to better mount these to get rid of this gap. I have thought about widening the holes they screw on with abit so to angle them abit better because I have tried body tape but it just pops off becuase as it is currently it takes too much pressure to push them up flush with the car.

Ill upload photos of exactly how they sit one the sun comes back up smile.gif

So after one side of my gauge had no lights I went and replaced them with blue LED's (these ones http://www.jaycar.co.nz/productView.asp?ID...p;form=KEYWORD). They worked fine for a while but now the middle and right one are flickering which is really annoying and distracting tonight. Does anyone know why this might be happening I would be very thankful smile.gif

thanks for the input guys Im going to talk to the last 2 powdercoating places around and see how much they charge. The only problem with plasti dip in nz is its about $30 a can so to do a whole set of wheels is $120 and thats not including any metaliser or gloss. If i can find the powdercoating for under $300 I think ill stick to that otherwise I might experiment with some plasti dip colours and see how it looks. Ill let you guys know what I end up doing and ill post pics of before and after to see the difference it makes smile.gif

The clear coat on my wheels have started to fad on the inside and I want to clean them up. I have seen all the videos of plasti coat and it looks good and I can replicate the colours I might want (either dark bronze or gunmetal) pretty easily and I can remove it if I dont like it but I want to see if anyone has experience with it. People have suggested to powder coat them but thats about 300-400 nzd (250-350 usd roughly). I have also heard peoples stories about powder coated wheels getting weaker in the baking process. Has anyone done either and could offer their experience with either or even suggest a better option.

Here are some shots of my ST202. Managed to find this with 130000km and in immaculate condition and I love it to bits. I still want to re paint the wheels (clear coat on inside surface is coming off and looks abit average up close) and tint it. Any suggestions for wheel colours I was thinking either bronze or just staying with the same colour maybe darker

Sorry for the crappy photos ill take our good camera next time just found a nice spot at the right time smile.gif

I thought I would start a thread discussing small mods people have done to there Celicas for mine and other peoples interest as it may encourage them to do some. Personally I haven't done many small ones mostly replacing lights with blue LED's (Gauge, boot and numberplate) so im always interested to see what other small things can be done to improve and make your ride abit more unique.
